(1) Năm thứ mười lăm dưới triều hoàng đế Ti-bê-ri-ô, thời
Phong-xi-ô Phi-la-tô làm tổng trấn miền Giu-đê, Hê-rô-đê làm tiểu
vương miền Ga-li-lê, người em là Phi-líp-phê làm tiểu vương miền
I-tu-rê và Tra-kho-nít; Ly-xa-ni-a làm tiểu vương miền A-bi-lên;
(2) Khan-na và Cai-pha làm thượng tế. Có lời Thiên Chúa phán
cùng con ông Da-ca-ri-a là ông Gio-an trong hoang địa. (3) Ông liền
đi khắp vùng ven sông Gio-đan, rao giảng kêu gọi người ta chịu
phép rửa tỏ lòng sám hối để được ơn tha tội, (4) như có lời
chép trong sách ngôn sứ I-sai-a rằng: “Có tiếng người hô trong
hoang địa: Hãy dọn sẵn con đường cho Đức Chúa, sửa lối cho
thẳng để Người đi”. (5) Mọi thung lũng phải lấp cho đầy, mọi
núi đồi phải bạt cho thấp, khúc quanh co phải uốn cho ngay,
đường lồi lõm phải san cho phẳng. (6) Rồi hết mọi người phàm
sẽ thấy ơn cứu độ của Thiên Chúa.</span></b></p>

nghiệm nơi Gio-an Tiền sứ. Ông tự nhận mình chỉ là tiếng kêu
trong hoang địa, đi trước loan báo Đấng Thiên Sai sắp đến. Ông
cũng kêu gọi mọi người hãy chuẩn bị tâm hồn đón Chúa đến
bằng việc ăn năn sám hối tội lỗi, và chịu phép rửa do ông
thực hiện trong dòng nước sông Gio-đan.</span></p>

Gio-an là con của hai ông bà Da-ca-ri-a và Ê-li-sa-bét (hay
I-sa-ve), và đã được hòai thai cách khác thường (x. Lc 1,57-68).
Từ nhỏ, ông đã sống khắc khổ chay tịnh trong hoang địa như ngôn
sứ Ê-li-a (x. Mc 1,6). Sau đó ông được kêu gọi làm ngôn sứ để
loan báo tin mừng Đấng Thiên Sai (x. Lc 1,76). Ông thi hành sứ
mệnh tại vùng sông Gio-đan. Chính ông đã làm phép rửa cho Đức
Giê-su và đã được chứng kiến cuộc Thần hiện xảy ra sau khi
Người chịu phép rửa (x. Mt 3,16-17). Sau đó ông bắt đầu giới
thiệu Người là Chiên Thiên Chúa (x. Ga 1,29), và khuyến khích hai
đồ đệ bỏ mình đi theo làm môn đệ Người (x. Ga 1,35-37.43). Ông
cũng loan báo về Đấng Thiên Sai sắp đến (x. Mc 1,7-8) và khiêm
tốn nói rằng: “Tôi đây không phải là Đấng Ki-tô, mà là kẻ được
sai đi trước mặt Người... Người phải nổi bật lên, còn tôi phải
lu mờ đi” (Ga 3,28.30). Cuối cùng Gio-an đã kết thúc cuộc đời
tiền sứ bằng cái “chết vì lẽ công chính” ở trong nhà ngục (x.
Mt 14,3-12), vì đã dám khiển trách tội loạn luân của vua
Hê-rô-đê (x. Lc 3,19). Đức Giê-su đã khen Gio-an: “Trong số các
phàm nhân đã lọt lòng mẹ, không ai cao trọng hơn Gio-an” (Lc
7,28). </span></p>

Từ xa xưa, mỗi nước đều sử dụng lịch riêng của nước mình,
không có sự thống nhất nên rất khó giao thương với nhau. Do đó
các nhà lãnh đạo đều mong muốn có một lịch chung, một kỷ
nguyên chung hay cũng gọi là công nguyên cho toàn thế giới. </span>
</p>

Vào thế kỷ thứ VI, tu sĩ tên là DI-O-NY-SI-US E-XI-GU-US đã đặt ra
Kỷ nguyên chung khi ông tính

Ông đã chọn Đức Giê-su làm nhân vật trung tâm của lịch sử nhân
lọai. Dựa vào các thông tin về cuộc đời của Đức Giê-su trong
các sách Tin mừng như: Người sinh ra dưới thời Hê-rô-đê Đại vương
(x. Mt 2,1); trong lúc Rô-ma đang làm sổ kiểm tra dân số và
Qui-ri-nô làm toàn quyền xứ Sy-ri-a (x. Lc 2,2); Khi ra giảng đạo,
Đức Giê-su trạc độ 30 tuổi (x. Lc 3,23); Gio-an Tẩy giả thi hành
sứ mệnh tiền sứ vào năm thứ 15 triều hoàng đế Ti-bê-ri-ô (x. Lc
3,1)... Tu sĩ Di-o-ny-si-us đã so sánh các chi tiết trên với lịch
sử của đế quốc Rô-ma để tìm ra năm sinh của Đức Giê-su tương ứng
với lịch Rô-ma tính từ ngày thành lập thành Rô-ma, và lấy năm sinh của
Đức Giê-su là năm thứ nhất của Kỷ Nguyên Chung. Từ đó mọi nước
trên thế giới đều thống nhất dùng lịch chung này. Như vậy năm
2018 nghĩa là năm thứ 2018 tính từ năm Chúa Giê-su giáng sinh.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 48px; margin: 0cm">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt">Tuy nhiên, ngày nay người ta
đã khám phá ra có sự sai sót trong cách tính của Di-o-ny-si-us.
Hầu hết các học giả </span><span style="font-size: 14.0pt">

Phép rửa của Gio-an chỉ là một nghi lễ, giúp người ta tỏ lòng
sám hối để cầu xin Chúa tha tội. Còn phép rửa do Đức Giê-su
thiết lập mới đem lại ơn cứu độ cho người lãnh nhận. Ơn cứu độ
ấy như sau: Một là họ sẽ được tha tội Tổ Tông Truyền và các tội riêng
đã phạm từ khi có trí khôn, nhờ </span>

"Ngươi hãy giữ lấy phủ việt này cho đến khi tìm được người nào ngây ngô

<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt">Vào ngày 3 tháng 9 năm 1864,
nhà máy Nô-bơn phát nổ, rất nhiều công nhân bị thiệt mạng, trong đó có
cả E-mil là em út của Nô-bơn. Khi ấy Nô-bơn bàng hoàng khi hầu hết
các tờ báo phát hành ngay từ sáng sớm đều loan tin sai lạc về
cái chết của chính ông, người mà họ mô tả là kẻ đã sáng chế
ra cốt mìn, một thứ vũ khí giết người hàng loạt. Các bài viết
mang những tựa đề lớn như: <i>“Nhà buôn cái chết đã chết”</i> – hoặc: <i>
"Tiến sĩ Alfred Nobel, người đã trở nên giàu có sau khi phát minh ra
cách thức giết con người nhanh chóng hơn bao giờ hết, đã qua đời vào
ngày hôm qua".</i> Thực ra báo chí đã hiểu lầm về bản chất con người
ông. Việc phát minh ra chất nổ của Nô-bơn ban đầu chỉ là công
trình khoa học nhằm phục vụ cho nhân loại. Chẳng hạn: Phá đá làm
đường hầm xuyên qua núi, hoặc lấy đá làm nguyên liệu xi măng xây
dựng đường xá, cầu cống, nhà cửa và các công trình phục vụ
công ích. Nhưng về sau khi chiến tranh nổ ra, chính quyền đã lạm dụng
phát minh của No-bơn để chế tạo mìn sát thương trái với ý muốn
của ông. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 48px; margin: 0cm">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt">Ngay sáng hôm đó, Nô-bơn đã
quyết định nhờ luật sư làm di chúc để tình nguyện hiến toàn
bộ tài sản to lớn của ông để phục vụ nhân lọai. Đó là nguồn gốc
của giải thưởng Nô-bơn được công bố hằng năm ngày nay. Mỗi năm, số
tiền lời phát sinh từ tài sản kếch xù ban đầu của Nô-bơn đã được
sử dụng làm giải thưởng có giá trị cao cho bất cứ người nào, không
phân biệt quốc tịch, có công sáng chế những phát minh phục vụ nhân lọai

NGOAN CỦA MỘT ÔNG TRÙM HỌ ĐẠO ?</span></b></p>

<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; color: black">Trong một xóm
đạo ở miền quê nọ, các nhà trong xóm đều được xây dựng liền kề nhau, chỉ
cách nhau vài ba chục mét. Nhà này thường phân cách nhà kia bằng một
hàng phên tre sơ sài. Có nhà nuôi gà nhốt trong chuồng cẩn thận, nhưng
cũng có nhà cho gà tự do sang bên nhà hàng xóm đào bới đất kiếm ăn. Một
ông trùm họ sống trong xóm có trồng vài luống rau ăn hằng ngày trong khu
vườn sau nhà. Tuy nhiên hầu như ngày nào ông cũng mất công đi đuổi lũ gà
hàng xóm, chui qua hàng rào vào trong vườn nhà ông đào bới lung tung,
làm hư hại các luống rau ông đang quan tâm chăm sóc. Ông trùm đã vài lần
sang nói chuyện phải trái với mấy nhà gần bên để yêu cầu họ làm chuồng
nhốt gà lại, nhưng họ không mấy quan tâm và chuyện đâu vẫn y như cũ. Vốn
là một người sống đạo đức có chiều sâu, ông trùm luôn chủ trương sống
Lời Chúa dạy và không muốn chuyện nhỏ biến ra to, nên ông đành im lặng
chịu đựng. Một hôm ông đã tìm ra một giải pháp hữu hiệu như sau: Trong
nhà ông cũng có nuôi được ít gà mái đang thời đẻ trứng nhốt trong chuồng
và ngày nào chúng cũng đẻ được một hai quả trứng. Cứ cách vài ba ngày,
ông trùm lại sai con mang mấy quả trứng gà nhà mới đẻ sang trao lại cho
bên hàng xóm với lời giải thích: đó là mấy quả trứng do gà nhà ai đó đã
đẻ rơi trong vườn nhà mình. Ông làm như thế vài lần thì đã có được kết
quả tốt đẹp: các nhà hàng xóm giáp ranh đều đã rào giậu cẩn thận để
tránh gà nhà mình sang đẻ rơi bên nhà ông. Thế là chỉ mất một ít trứng
gà mà ông trùm đã tránh được tranh chấp có thể gây tranh cãi biến thành
chuyện lớn.</span></p>

này, để đón Chúa Giáng Sinh, mỗi người chúng ta sẽ làm gì cụ thể để làm

Trong một cuộc triển lãm, họa sĩ VANGOG có trưng bày một bức tranh rất
đẹp với tựa đề “Chúa đến’”. Ông vẽ Chúa Giê-su đang đứng gõ cửa trước
một căn phòng. Một người bạn xem tranh và tấm tắc khen tài nghệ xuất
chúng của ông, nhưng sau đó anh chân thành góp ý với họa sĩ: “Này anh
Vangog, bức tranh của anh nói chung đã hoàn hảo rồi. Nhưng tôi thấy còn
thiếu một chi tiết nhỏ mà có lẽ anh đã không để ý tới là: Căn phòng Chúa
đứng gõ cửa còn thiếu một nắm đấm để người đứng bên ngoài có thể mở ra
được”. Bấy giờ Vangog liền trả lời: “Không phải thế đâu anh bạn. Chúa
đang đứng gõ cửa phòng tâm hồn của mỗi người chúng ta. Còn bạn hay tôi,
có sẵn sàng mở cửa lòng mình ra hay không </span>

người ấy sẽ dùng bữa tối với Ta” (Kh 3,20).</span></p>

tài sản phục vụ công ích, cũng như biết ứng xử khôn ngoan, mà
No-bơn đang từ một kẻ bị người đời nguyền rủa là tác nhân gây
chết chóc... trở thành một nhân vật được cả thế giới ngưỡng mộ,
và được công nhận là ân nhân của nhân lọai, vì đã cổ võ hòa
bình, mang lại niềm vui và hạnh phúc cho các dân tộc trên thế
giới. Còn bạn, bạn sẽ làm gì trong những ngày này để phục vụ công ích và
gây hòa thuận giữa các thành viên trong gia đình, khu xóm và nơi làm
việc của bạn?</span></p>

xưng hô hợp với địa vị mỗi người. Tránh tự cao khi nghĩ mình hơn

Cần tránh những lời nói thiếu trung thực, dối trá, chua cay hay tục
tĩu. </span></p>

Phải tránh tính nóng giận bằng sự làm chủ bản thân, thay nét mặt
cau có bằng nụ cười thân ái. Tránh tranh cãi to tiếng. Tránh thói
ganh tị nhỏ nhen, gàn dở cố chấp và ích kỷ hại nhân... </span>

3) HÃY ĂN NĂN SÁM HỐI:</span></b><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Nội dung chính trong lời kêu gọi của Gio-an Tiền sứ là “Hãy
sám hối”. Sám hối bao gồm sự <i>nhìn nhận tội lỗi</i> của
mình, <i>hối tiếc vì tội đã phạm</i>, và <i>quyết tâm chừa
cải</i> để quay về xin lỗi </span>
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">và
</span>
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
làm hòa với Chúa. Thiếu một trong ba yếu tố trên thì không còn
là sám hối. Giu-đa biết tội của mình, hối tiếc vì tội đã
phạm và lẽ ra phải quay về xin Chúa tha thứ, thì anh ta lại đi
treo cổ tự tử ! (x. Mt 27,5) nên đã bị Chúa trách: “Thà nó
đừng sinh ra thì hơn!” (x. Mc 14,21). Còn </span>
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
tông đồ</span><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Phê-rô sau khi chối Thầy, đã hồi tâm sám hối (x. Mt 26,75) và trông
cậy vào lòng khoan dung của Chúa, nên đã được Chúa tha tội.
