nói với chúng con về từng vấn đề.</span></p>

Trước hết là về Gioan Tẩy Giả. </span></i></b></p>

Khi nhìn vào cuộc đời của Gioan Tẩy Giả, chúng con có thấy điều gì nổi
bật không? Không biết chúng con nghĩ sao chứ riêng cha, cha thấy có một
vài điểm rất nổi bật này:</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 6.0pt">
<span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">
+ Đầu tiên cha thấy ông là người <b><i>coi thường </i></b>những thứ mà
người đời hay tìm kiếm. Nhưng thử hỏi những thứ mà người đời hay tìm
kiếm là những thứ nào chúng con? Cha đọc trong lịch sữ cha thấy những
điều mà người đời hay tìm kiếm là những thứ có cò liên hệ mất đến 4 nhu
cầu căn bản này của con người đó lá <b>Ăn-Ở-Đi-Mặc</b>.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 6.0pt">

Ai cũng muốn được ăn ngon-mặc đẹp-Ở nhà sang- Đi lại bằng những phương
tiện sang trọng.</span></p>

Gioan có thèm những thứ đó không chúng con?</span></p>

Chúng con hãy đọc lại Tin Mừng. Tin Mừng ghi làm sao? Tin Mừng Thánh
Marcô ghi: "Vào thời đó, ông Gioan Tẩy Giả đã xuất hiện <b><i>ở trong
hoang địa</i></b>, rao giảng kêu gọi người ta chịu phép rửa tỏ lòng sám
hối để được ơn tha tội. Ông Gioan <b><i>mặc </i></b>áo lông lạc đà, thắt
lưng bằng dây da, <b><i>ăn châu chấu và mật ong rừng</i></b>." (Mc
1.4.7)</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 6.0pt">
<span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">
Đúng là cuộc sống siêu thoát, không màng gì đến những thú vui của thế
gian mặc dầu ông có dư điều kiện để sống cuộc đời như nhiều người thèm
muốn. Thủ hỏi ông làm như thế để làm gì chúng con. Cha tưởng là ông muốn
tự rèn luyện mình để trở thành một cây lim cây sến như Đức Cha Thiamer
Toth nói, một con người có chí khí sắt đá kiên cường, hầu có thể đứng
vững trước mọi thử thách mà ông phải đương đầu sau này khi ông đi loan
truyền sứ vụ Chúa trao phó.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 6.0pt">
<span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">
+ <b><i>Tiếp theo</i></b> cha thấy ông Gioan Tẩy Giả là người có <b><i>
một lý tưởng để sống</i></b>. Có lần Chúa Giêsu nói về ông như thế này:

"Anh em ra xem gì trong hoang địa? Một cây sậy phất phơ trước gió chăng?
Thế thì anh em ra xem gì? Một người mặc gấm vóc lụa là chăng? Kìa những
kẻ mặc gấm vóc lụa là thì ở trong cung điện nhà vua. Thế thì anh em ra
xem gì? Một vị ngôn sứ chăng? Đúng thế đó; mà tôi nói cho anh em biết,
đây còn hơn cả ngôn sứ nữa. Chính ông là người Kinh Thánh đã nói tới khi
chép rằng: Này Ta sai sứ giả của Ta đi trước mặt Con, người sẽ dọn đường
cho Con đến. Tôi nói thật với anh em: trong số phàm nhân đã lọt lòng mẹ,
chưa từng có ai cao trọng hơn ông Gioan Tẩy Giả.(Mt 11,7-11)</span></p>

Cha thấy ở trên đời có nhiều người sống nhưng không biết sống để làm gì.
Chúng con nghe câu chuyện này. </span></p>

Ngày kia c<span style="background: white">ó ba người mặt mày buồn bã đến
hỏi ý kiến của một nhà hiền triết, xem làm thế nào để họ được sống vui
vẻ có ý nghĩa. Nhà hiền triết hỏi họ:</span></span></p>

- Trước tiên, các ông hãy nói cho tôi biết các ông sống <b><i>vì</i></b>
cái gì?</span></p>

Người thứ nhất trả lời - Vì tôi không muốn chết, cho nên tôi sống.</span></p>

Người thứ hai nói: - Vì tôi muốn nhìn xem ngày mai có tốt hơn ngày hôm
nay hay không, vì vậy mà tôi sống.</span></p>

Người thứ ba nói: - Vì tôi có một gia đình phải nuôi dưỡng. Tôi không
thể chết, vì vậy mà tôi sống.</span></p>

Nghe vậy nhà hiền triết lắc đầu nói:</span></p>

- Thế thì đương nhiên là các ông không được vui vẻ rồi, vì các ông sống
chỉ vì sợ hãi, chờ đợi, trách nhiệm bất đắc dĩ, chứ không vì lý tưởng.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 6.0pt">
<span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">
Nhìn vào cuộc sống của Gioan, mọi người phải nể phục ông. Ông sống rất
đẹp. Mọi người phải nể phục không phải vì Gioan là người có quyền cao
chức trọng nhưng vì đời sống của ông đẹp quá, cao cả quá, thánh thiện
quá. Gioan là người <span style="letter-spacing:-.3pt">luôn hướng nhìn
về phía trước, sống cho phía trước. Phía trước có cõi đời đời. Trong cõi
đời đời đó có Thiên Chúa hằng sống. Gioan sống và phục vụ cho Đấng Hằng
Sống vì thế mà đời của Gioan đẹp. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 6.0pt">

2. Tiếp theo là<span style="letter-spacing:-.3pt"> <b><i>đề tài ông
Gioan rao giảng.</i></b></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 6.0pt">
<span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";
letter-spacing:-.3pt">Tin Mừng bảo Gioan đã mượn lời tiên tri Isaia để nói với
mọi người. </span>
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
"Hãy dọn sẵn con đường của Ðức Chúa, sửa lối cho thẳng để Người đi. Mọi
thung lũng, phải lấp cho đầy, mọi núi đồi, phải bạt cho thấp, khúc quanh
co, phải uốn cho ngay, đường lồi lõm, phải san cho phẳng."(Lc 3,4-5)</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-autospace: none; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 6.0pt">
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">Ý
của Gioan thật rõ ràng. Ơn Cứu độ của Thiên Chúa đã gần kề. Muốn được
Chúa Cứu độ thì phải <b><i>làm đường, nghĩa là phải làm cho tâm hồn của
mình cho xứng đáng</i></b>.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-autospace: none; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 6.0pt">
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Chúng con hãy nghe câu chuyện cảm động này: </span><i>
<span style="font-size:14.0pt;
font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">C</span></i><span style="font-size:14.0pt;
font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">harlie là một tội
phạm. Anh bị cáo buộc là đã giết một viên chức hành chánh tại đại học
Haverford ở Pennsylvania. Anh bị toà kết án và án là phải tử hình trên
ghế điện. Trong khi anh ngồi tù, thì có một đoàn truyền bá Phúc âm thuộc
nhà thờ Alden Union giúp anh đến với Chúa. Charlie học Kinh thánh và rất
thích Thánh ca. Charlie hay hát bài: "Không ai săn sóc tôi bằng Chúa
Giêsu".</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-autospace: none; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 6.0pt">
<span style="font-size:
14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Trước khi bị
đưa lên ghế điện, Charlie xin được nói chuyện với các bạn tù của anh.
Khi được phép, Charlie nói với mọi người về niềm vui của anh trong Chúa.
Anh bảo rằng anh không còn sợ bị hành quyết. Anh rất hối hận về tội của
mình, nhưng đã được Chúa tha thứ và bịết rằng chẳng bao lâu nữa sẽ được
gặp Chúa trực tiếp.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-autospace: none; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 6.0pt">

14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Cuối giờ nói
chuyện, Charlie hát bài hát mình thích nhất rồi bước xuống. Một tờ báo
tại Philadelphia thuật rằng khi đi vào ghế điện, anh hát một lần nữa.
Khi người ta trùm đầu Charlie, câu nói cuối cùng của anh cũng là lời
hát, rằng: "Một ngày kia tôi sẽ gặp mặt Chúa phúc hạnh".</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-autospace: none; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 6.0pt">

Charlie đối diện với cái chết không sợ sệt vì bịết rằng Chúa Giêsu đã
cất đi "tội ác và bóng tối" trong tâm hồn anh. Chuá đang sống và cùng đi
với anh vào thung lũng của tử thần. </span></i></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 6.0pt">

Lạy Chúa Giêsu, xin biến đổi con, <br>
xin biến đổi con từ từ qua cầu nguyện. </span></p>

Mỗi lần con thấy Chúa, xin biến đổi ánh mắt con. <br>
Mỗi lần con rước Chúa, xin biến đổi môi miệng con. <br>
Mỗi lần con nghe lời Chúa, xin biến đổi tai con. </span></p>

Xin làm cho khuôn mặt con ngời sáng hơn <br>

Ước chi mọi người thấy nét tươi tắn của Chúa trong nụ cười của con, <br>
thấy sự dịu dàng của Chúa trong lời nói của con. </span></p>

Thế giới hôm nay không cần những kitô hữu <br>
