chức sắc cao cấp cho nên em được ngồi ở trên khán đài với cha mẹ. Chung
quanh khán đài có cả hàng ngàn người cùng đứng xem. Hôm đó Hoàng đế và
Hoàng Hậu cũng có mặt trên khán đài. Từ trên khán đài Jeannette thấy một
bà cụ yếu đuối, đang cố gắng kiễng chân mình lên để xem </span>

đoàn diễn hành đi qua </span>
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
nhưng chắc là cũng chẳng thấy gì. Khi thấy như vậy, Jeannette bèn thầm
nghĩ trong lòng: </span></p>

- Mình khỏe mạnh mà ngồi đây, để cho bà cụ già yếu đuối kia đứng chen
chúc cố gắng mãi mà không thấy gì thì không nên. Mình phải kính trọng
người già để sau này mình về già, người khác cũng sẽ kính trọng lại mình
như vậy!</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0cm; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0cm">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Nghĩ như thế nên cô bèn đi xuống mời bà cụ lên đứng vào chỗ của mình rồi
tự nguyện ra đứng chỗ đám đông. Và thật bất ngờ trong khi cô đang cố
nhón chân mình lên để xem thì một người lính cận vệ của nhà vua mặc áo
giáp vàng, lách đám đông đến trước mặt cô và nói:</span></p>

- Cô bé ơi, hoàng hậu cho mời cô đến ngồi bên cạnh người!</span></p>

Bé Jeannette ngạc nhiên khi đứng trước mặt hoàng hậu, nhưng
hoàng hậu nói rằng :</span></p>

- Hãy ngồi bên cạnh ta, ta đã thấy con nhường chỗ cho bà cụ
già, nên bây giờ con được phép ngồi cạnh ta!</span></p>

Cô bé này đã làm một việc mà Hoàng hậu cũng phải cảm phục vì đó là một
việc tốt.</span></p>

Cha thấy trong cuộc sống chẳng thiếu gì những việc tốt mà mọi người có
thể làm. Chỉ tiếc có một điều là nhiều người biết là tốt mà không dám
làm hay không chịu làm thôi. Chúng con hãy cố gắng để làm việc tốt, càng
nhiều càng hay. </span></p>

Cha lấy một thí dụ:</span></p>

Một bé gái nọ có thói quen đọc kinh trước khi đi ngủ. Ngày kia, em bị
bệnh nặng phải vào nhà thương. Các bác sỹ cho biết chỉ có giải phẫu mới
có hy vọng cứu sống em. Trước khi cho thuốc gây mê, các bác sỹ và y tá
báo cho em biết là em sẽ được ngủ một giấc dài. Nghe nói ngủ, cô bé ngây
thơ đã xin được quỳ xuống cầu nguyện. Thế là trước mặt mọi người, cô bé
quỳ gối cầu nguyện một cách hết sức chân thành, và em kết thúc bằng lời
nguyện như sau: "Xin Chúa cho con được chóng lành bệnh". Cầu nguyện
xong, em bé nằm xuống và xin các bác sỹ và y tá tiến hành cuộc giải
phẫu...</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0cm; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0cm">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Ngày hôm sau, cô bé tỉnh dậy với nỗi đau tội cùng. Câu hỏi đâu
tiên của em với bác sỹ là:</span></p>

- Cháu có được lành bệnh không, thưa bác sỹ?</span></p>

Vị bác sỹ nhìn thẳng vào đôi mắt của em và đáp với tất cả sự xúc động:</span></p>

- Cháu hãy để cho Chúa lo liệu, bác chưa biết được kết quả của
cuộc giải phẫu</span><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
thế nào</span><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">.
Nhưng có một điều bác tin chắc, đó là cháu đã cứu được một người, và
người đó không ai khác hơn đó chính là bác đây! Từ lâu, bác đã không đến
nhà thờ, bác không còn nhớ đến Chúa và cũng không bao giờ cầu nguyện
nữa. Thế nhưng, hôm qua khi nhìn thấy cháu cầu nguyện một cách thật sốt
sắng, bác không cầm được nước mắt. Chúa đã đánh động bác. Sáng nay, bác
đã đến nhà thờ xưng tội và chịu lễ. Bác tin chắc rằng Chúa đã nhận lời
cháu. Cháu đừng lo lắng nữa. Hãy phó thác cho Thiên Chúa!".</span></p>

Thiên Chúa, và chỉ có Thiên Chúa mới hiểu rõ điều gì tốt đẹp
chúng ta người ta làm cho nhau. </span></p>

Chúa Giêsu đã làm cho mọi người phải kinh ngạc mà thốt lên:<i> <b>"</b></i></span><b><i><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">Ông
ấy làm việc gì cũng tốt đẹp cả"(Mc 7,27)</span></i></b><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">.
Những việc tốt đẹp Chúa làm thì không sao kể cho hết được. Đọc trong Tin
Mừng chúng ta thấy rất rõ điều đó.</span></p>

làm dư ra một cái để cho người nghèo đói. Bà để ổ bánh mì dư trên thành
cửa sổ bên ngoài cho người nghèo nào đó đi qua dễ lấy. Hàng ngày, có một
người gù lưng đến lấy ổ bánh mì</span><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
bà làm</span><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">.
Thay vì nói lời cám ơn, ông ta vừa đi vừa lẩm bẩm những lời sau đây:</span></span></p>

lấy bánh và lại lẩm bẩm câu : “Việc xấu người làm thì ở lại với người,
việc tốt người làm thì sẽ trở lại với người!”</span></span></p>

độc vào ổ bánh mì dư bà làm cho người gù! Khi bà sắp sửa bỏ ổ bánh có
thuốc độc lên thành cửa sổ, đôi tay bà bỗng run lên. Bà hốt hoảng, “Ta
làm gì thế này?”</span></span></p>
