Qua đoạn tin mừng hôm nay, chúng ta cùng nhau chia sẻ hai điểm, đó là
hãy cầu nguyện và cầu nguyện trong kiên nhẫn.</span></p>

Trước hết là hãy cầu nguyện.</span></p>

Người xưa có câu:</span></p>

- Hữu cầu tất hữu ứng.</span></p>

Câu này thực đúng với lời Chúa Giêsu đã nói:</span></p>

- Hãy xin thì sẽ được, hãy tìm thì sẽ thấy và hãy gõ cửa thì sẽ mở cho.</span></p>

Chỉ cần đọc lại Phúc âm, chúng ta sẽ thấy được sự thật ấy.</span></p>

Ngày kia, có một viên đội trưởng đến xin Chúa chữa lành cho đứa con đau
yếu tại nhà. Chúa bảo:</span></p>

- Ta sẽ đi chữa nó.</span></p>

Nhưng viên đội trưởng liền thưa lại:</span></p>

- Lạy Thầy, con chẳng đáng Thầy ngự vào nhà con, nhưng xin Thầy phán một
lời, tức thì đứa nhỏ nhà con sẽ lành mạnh.</span></p>

Chúa Giêsu đã khen ngợi đức tin của ông và đã chữa lành cho đứa con của
ông.</span></p>

Cũng trong lúc ấy, có một người phong cùi đến quỳ dưới chân Chúa mà van
xin:</span></p>

- Lạy Thầy, nếu Thầy muốn, Thầy có thể làm cho con được sạch.</span></p>

Và Chúa Giêsu đã nói với anh:</span></p>

- Ta muốn, con hãy nên lành sạch.</span></p>

Thái độ dễ dàng của Chúa Giêsu không có chi là khó hiểu vì Ngài là Đấng
quyền năng và giàu lòng thương xót. </span></p>

Thực vậy, là một người giàu có, sẵn tiền trong tay, đồng thời lại là
người quảng đại và bác ái, nếu gặp một kẻ nghèo khổ đến xin giúp đỡ, hẳn
chúng ta sẽ không ngần ngại bố thí. </span></p>

Là con người xấu xa, chúng ta còn biết đối xử với nhau như vậy, huống
nữa là Thiên Chúa. Ngài vừa giàu về quyền năng, lại vữa giàu về lòng
thương xót. Chính Chúa Giêsu cũng đã nói cho chúng ta biết điều ấy:</span></p>

<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; color: black">
- Ai trong các ngươi lại cho đá thay vì bánh, cho rắn thay vì cá khi con
cái các ngươi van xin. Là những kẻ xấu xa, các ngươi còn biết đem của
tốt mà cho con cái, phương chi là Cha các ngươi ở trên trời, là Đấng tốt
lành vô cùng.</span></p>

Và rồi Ngài đã kết luận:</span></p>

- Hãy xin thì sẽ được, hãy tìm thì sẽ thấy và hãy gõ cửa thì sẽ mở cho.</span></p>

Điều cần thiết đó là chúng ta có xin, có tìm và có gõ cửa hay không?</span></p>

Tuy nhiên, Chúa còn đòi hỏi chúng ta phải kiên nhẫn trong lời cầu của
mình.</span></p>

Thực vậy, người đời thường bảo:</span></p>

- Ngồi lâu câu bền, năng nhặt chặt bị.</span></p>

Chính Chúa Giêsu cũng nói:</span></p>

- Ai bền đỗ đến cùng thì sẽ được cứu rỗi.</span></p>

Hẵn chúng ta còn nhớ câu chuyện về người đàn bà xứ Canaan. Bà tới xin
Chúa Giêsu làm phép lạ cho đứa con gái bị quỉ ám. Lần thứ nhất, Chúa yên
lặng. Lần thứ hai, Chúa cũng vẫn yên lặng đến nỗi các môn đệ phải can
thiệp:</span></p>

- Xin Thầy làm phứt đi cho bà kẻ bà cứ lải nhải đi theo chúng ta,</span></p>

Thế nhưng, Chúa đã đáp lại bằng một câu không ai ngờ tới:</span></p>

- Đừng lấy bánh của con cái mà ném cho chó.</span></p>

Dầu vậy, bà vẫn không thất vọng nản chí, bà thưa lên cùng Chúa:</span></p>

- Ít nữa là chó con cũng được ăn những mảnh vụn từ bàn rơi xuống.</span></p>

Và Chúa Giêsu đã khen ngợi sự kiên nhẫn của bà và đã cứu chữa đứa con
gái của bà.Thánh nữ Monica cũng đã từng kiên nhẫn cầu nguyện trong nức
mắt và khổ đau suốt nhiều năm, cuối cùng Augustinô đã làm lại cuộc đời
và trở nên một vị thánh. Hãy cầu xin và cầu xin trong kiên nhẫn, chắc
