<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Thật vậy, Chúa Giêsu đã đưa ra một
phát lý hoàn toàn mới mẻ so với Cựu ước qui định: “Mắt đền mắt, răng đền
răng”. So với các dân tộc chung quanh, luật Cựu ước cho thấy dân Irael đã
đạt được một ý thức khá cao về công bình. Nhưng Chúa Giêsu đến kể kiện toàn
lề luật: thay cho thứ công bình “Mắt đền mắt, răng đền răng”, Chúa Giêsu đề
ra luật của yêu thương và được qui tóm trong một lề luật duy nhất là mến
Chúa, yêu người.</span></p>

hạn, cũng chẳng có luật trừ. Yêu thương là yêu thương mọi người và yêu
thương cho đến cùng. Qua cách cư xử của Ngài đối với các tội nhân và ngay cả
kẻ thù của Ngài, Chúa Giêsu đã chứng tỏ một tình yêu không điều kiện, không
giới hạn, không luật trừ, và tình yêu ấy được thể hiện trọn vẹn qua cái chết
của Ngài trên thập giá.</span></p>

<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Khi tỏ bày tình yêu của Thiên Chúa
và khi nối kết hai giới răn mến Chúa yêu người, Chúa Giêsu cũng chỉ cho con
người thấy được ơn gọi đích thực của nó. Chỉ có một cách thể hiện hữu đối
với con người đó là sống yêu thương. Khước từ yêu thương, con người tự chối
bỏ chính mình. Đón nhận mạc khải của Chúa Giêsu, người Kitô hữu hiểu rằng
chỉ bằng yêu thương, họ mới sống đúng ơn gọi làm người, và tỏ bày hình ảnh
của Thiên Chúa mà họ mang trong mình.</span></p>

cao cả của mình, để trong mọi sự và trong mọi quan hệ, chúng ta luôn thúc
đẩy và hướng đến bởi một động lực duy nhất là tình yêu.</span></p>
