giảng "ở chỗ đất bằng" bằng những "mối phúc" "mối họa" Chúa gởi đến cho
những người bị cuộc sống bầm dập hoặc phải chịu bách hại vì đức tin. Giờ đây
Luca muốn đề cập đến một thái độ hoàn toàn đặc trưng của người môn đệ Đức
Giêsu: lòng yêu thương những kẻ thù, những kẻ "ghét " họ, "nguyền rủa" họ,

cho cung cách cư xử của các môn đệ: không chỉ yêu thương kẻ yêu thương mình,
bởi lẽ "ngay cả người tội lỗi cũng làm như thế", hãy yêu thương nhau cách vô
vị lợi, không tính toán, chỉ chờ đợi sự đáp trả ở một mình Chúa mà thôi:
"Như vậy phần thưởng dành cho anh em sẽ lớn lao " .</span></p>

độc ác "; khi noi gương lòng nhân hậu của Thiên Chúa, họ sẽ nên giống Người.</span></p>

lòng ta không có điều chi ray rứt và ta đang vui tính, thì có thể thấy những
lời ấy thật tuyệt vời. Trái lại trong trường hợp ta bị nhục mạ , phải cay
đắng vì là nạn nhân của một bất công, thì những lời của Đức Giêsu xem ra
không thể chịu nổi. Thế nhưng chính trong những giờ phút ấy, Lời Chúa mới tỏ
cho thấy nó có sức mạnh và sự thật. Thế nghĩa là thế nào?</span></p>

tôi, việc làm đó, một người có lương tri bình thường không nghĩ ra đâu. Để
gợi ý cho tôi, Thiên Chúa đã không nề hà, vì tự mình chúng ta sẽ không nghĩ
ra được điều đó. Thiên Chúa đã xuống. trần, sống kiếp phàm nhân giống hệt
chúng ta. Người đã phải sống trong những hoàn cảnh đáng ghét, hoàn cảnh của
một người mà chung quanh chỉ gặp toàn là thù địch. Trong hoàn cảnh như thế
đó Đức Giêsu đã xin tha thứ cho những kẻ làm khổ Người. Nếu ta muốn bắt
chước Đức Giêsu, thì việc chọn sống những tâm tình và thái độ của Người đến
độ biết tha thứ cho kẻ thù, thiết tưởng là điều khẩn thiết!</span></p>

cuốn hút ta đến độ chính người sống trong ta. Người muốn nhờ chính con người
của ta, con tim và trí tuệ, ánh mắt và lời nói của ta để nói với những con
người thời nay, điều mà Người đã nói cách đây hai ngàn năm, trước mặt những
người đương thời với Người. Người đã nói gì? Chỉ một sự thật này thôi: Thiên
Chúa thương xót tất cả những ai thù ghét Người. Làm sao những người đương
thời với chúng ta hôm nay sẽ nghe được lời này của Đức Giêsu nếu chính chúng

xuẩn...? Há chính Đức Giêsu đã không vặn hỏi kẻ đánh Người rằng: "Tại sao
anh đánh tôi? ", mà không giơ má bên kia đó sao? Ta thấy rõ rằng Đức Giêsu
muốn kêu gọi ta vượt lên chính mình; Người thúc ép ta phải có lối cư xử
ngoại hạng của người Kitô hữu.</span></p>

<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">sứ điệp của Người được gởi đến "cho
anh em là những người đang nghe tôi đây ", những người đang đón nhận mạc
khải của phúc âm. Đó là những người đã chịu phép rửa, những người đã trở lại
để sống trong Giáo hội và học dưới mái trường của vị Tôn sư dạy làm điều phi
thường. Như ánh sáng đức tin, họ am hiểu lời Người. Có khó tính chăng nữa
cũng phải nhận rằng cách cư xử theo Kitô giáo, việc noi gương bắt chước Đấng
hằng tha thứ, dù là kẻ hành hình mình, bất quá chẳng phải là điều quá phi
lý. Chẳng qua là con đường khôn ngoan vượt bực còn bí ẩn đối với "kẻ phàm
nhân" thôi. Há chúng ta chẳng có được kinh nghiệm về niềm vui lớn lao khi ta
xử sự theo lòng thương xót hoặc khi ta được chứng kiến những việc làm của
tinh thần vị tha, tinh thần chia sẻ, tinh thần tha thứ và tinh thần yêu
