đẩy mạnh chương trình “Xoá đói giảm nghèo”, đồng thời báo chí không ngớt ca
ngợi những tấm lòng của những nhà hảo tâm, giàu có đã rộng tay giúp đỡ cho
những người khổ đau bệnh tật, nghèo khó bất hạnh. Thế mà Tin Mừng lại đưa ra
một điều dường như nghịch lý: “Phúc cho kẻ đói khát, phúc cho kẻ nghèo khổ,…
và khốn cho kẻ giàu có, no đủ…”. Vậy, phải chăng những người nghèo là người
hạnh phúc, còn những người giàu có sẽ là người bất hạnh? Thế thì, vấn đề
được đặt ra ở đây là: ai mới thật là người hạnh phúc, và phải sống thế nào
để được hạnh phúc?</span></p>

rủa: khốn cho các ngươi là những người giàu có, no đủ… Chúng ta cần hiểu,
đây là một lối văn thường gặp trong Cựu ước, các lời này không phải là những
lời nguyền rủa hay lên án nhưng là những lời có ý ngăn đe thương hại.</span></p>

đề cơ bản của cuộc sống con người. Thế nhưng, bi kịch của con người mọi thời
khi cho rằng càng có nhiều tiền của, tiện nghi, quyền lực, danh vọng thì
càng được hạnh phúc. Đây cũng là bi kịch của xã hội thời Chúa Giêsu, và cũng
là bi kịch cho thời đại chúng ta.</span></p>

nay, nghệ thuật quảng cáo đạt đến mức thặng thừa đã đẩy người tiêu thụ từ
trẻ em cho đến người lớn đến với những nhu cầu vật chất giả tạo. Người ta
thi nhau mua sắm, càng mua càng thấy thiếu, càng sắm càng thấy chưa đủ.
Người ta trở thành nô lệ cho nhu cầu tiêu dùng của mình, nô lệ cho tiện nghi
máy móc, hưởng thụ. Thử hỏi như thế thì làm sao mà có được sự tự do và hạnh
phúc thật?</span></p>

không ít người xem sự giàu có, thành đạt, nổi tiếng, là cứu cánh duy nhất
của cuộc đời, đến nỗi họ sẵn sàng chà đạp lên tất cả đạo đức luân lý, để đạt
cho kỳ được điều họ muốn. Biết bao người đã ngã gục trước đồng tiền, tiền
của kiếm được cách bất chính thì cũng được sử dụng một cách bất hảo, đem đổ
vào các cuộc vui chơi sa đoạ trác táng… Họ phè phỡn ăn chơi, no nê, vui thú,
trong khi có biết bao người vì họ mà phải tán gia bại sản. Và bên cạnh họ,
còn biết bao người đói khổ, chỉ cần một lần tiêu xài của họ cũng có thể nuôi
sống biết bao người trong nhiều tháng.</span></p>

người giàu có khi họ lấy của cải vật chất làm cứu cánh thay vì chỉ là phương
tiện sử dụng trong cuộc sống hằng ngày. Họ chỉ cậy dựa vào quyền lực trần
thế như lời ngôn sứ Giêrêmia trong bài đọc 1 đã cảnh báo: “Khốn cho kẻ tin
tưởng vào người đời, họ nương tựa vào sức mạnh con người, còn tâm hồn họ xa
Chúa”.</span></p>

khát, thái độ của Chúa Giêsu đối với họ như thế nào? Phải chăng Chúa Giêsu
đã rao giảng một điều nghịch lý khi cho đói, nghèo… là phúc?</span></p>

đói khát, khóc lóc, bị bách hại… Chúa Giêsu không giảng dạy một điều nghịch
lý, và Ngài cũng không chủ trương bần cùng hoá thế giới này. Khi tuyên bố:
phúc cho kẻ nghèo khó, đói khát, khóc lóc, bị bách hại; Chúa Giêsu đã xác
định cho con người một bậc thang giá trị đích thực trong cuộc sống.</span></p>

chìa khoá của câu trả lời: nghèo đói, khóc lóc, bị ganh ghét, xỉ vả vì Con
Người, và cũng câu này cho biết chính các ngôn sứ cũng từng bị đối xử như
thế. Vậy, có thể hiểu những người nghèo đói, khóc lóc được Thiên Chúa chúc
phúc ở đây chính là những người mà tiên tri Giêrêmia đã loan báo: “Phúc thay
cho những người tin tưởng vào Thiên Chúa, và Chúa sẽ là niềm cậy trông của
họ”.</span></p>

Mừng nhắc đến hôm nay không chỉ thuần tuý là những người thiếu cơm ăn áo
mặc, nhưng là những người nghèo theo nghĩa biết tín thác cuộc đời mình trong
tay Thiên Chúa, biết cậy dựa vào Chúa, lấy Chúa làm cứu cánh của cuộc đời
mình. Như thế, họ sẽ trở thành những người có Thiên Chúa làm gia nghiệp, và
họ sẽ là những người hạnh phúc thực sự, cho dẫu họ có là người nghèo đích
thực.</span></p>

mỗi người đều phải vất vả với việc làm ra của cải để nuôi sống bản thân và
gia đình. Nhưng lời Chúa hôm nay, đòi hỏi mỗi người làm sao một đàng vừa chu
toàn trách nhiệm với gia đình, nhưng đàng khác vẫn sống niềm cậy trông vào
Thiên Chúa.</span></p>

Thiên Chúa, khi càng lệ thuộc vào Ngài, chúng ta càng cảm thấy tự do đối với
của cải, vật chất nơi thế trần này. Khi đó, dù phải vất vả với cuộc sống,
chúng ta sẽ sẵn sàng quan tâm đến những người chung quanh, nhất là những
người nghèo thật sự, những người nghèo vật chất, nghèo tinh thần, nghèo học
vấn… nhằm chia sẻ, những gì có thể được cho những người anh chị em cùng con
một Cha trên trời.</span></p>

nghe nói đến mẹ Têrêxa Calcutta, một người chỉ biết sống cho người khác: Khi
còn tại thế, mẹ không thiếu tiền của, nhưng mẹ vẫn sống như một “người nghèo
khó của Thiên Chúa”. Với chiếc xe hơi Đức Giáo Hoàng Phaolô VI tặng ở
Bombay, mẹ đã bán để lấy tiền xây dựng một trung tâm lớn cho bệnh nhân
phong. Với số tiền nhận từ giải Hoà Bình Gioan XXIII của Vatican, mẹ đã
thiết lập một trung tâm phục hồi chức năng cho người cùi. Với số tiền nhận
từ giải Nobel Hoà Bình mẹ đã xây nhà cho những người nghèo.</span></p>

cho những người nghèo và tất cả những gì của mẹ đều thuộc về những người
nghèo đói,khổ đau, vì mẹ luôn gắn kết cuộc đời mình với Đức Kitô, tín thác
cuộc đời mẹ trong bàn tay yêu thương của Thiên Chúa. Mẹ đã lấy Thiên Chúa
làm cứu cánh và cùng đích của cuộc đời mẹ.</span></p>

hay người đói khổ, vẫn có thể trở thành “người nghèo của Thiên Chúa”, thành
“người không vật sở hữu”, cho đi tất cả vì yêu mến và tín thác cuộc đời mình
cho Thiên Chúa, lấy Chúa làm niềm cậy trông là niềm hạnh phúc. Xin cho mỗi
chúng ta cho dẫu có là người nghèo khó, vất vả, khổ đau hay là người giàu
