hỏi ý kiến ông Gandhi xem phải làm gì để những người theo Ấn Độ giáo có thể
chấp nhận bài giảng trên núi của Chúa Giêsu về tám mối phúc thật. Ông Gandhi
đã trả lời:</span></p>

của những bông hồng. Mọi người đều yêu thích chúng, bởi vì ngoài vẻ đẹp và
màu sắc tươi thắm, chúng còn toả lan một mùi hương thoang thoảng và tuyệt
vời. Vậy các ông cũng hãy toả ngát hương thơm.</span></p>

các nhà truyền giáo, cũng là lời thách đố Chúa Giêsu muốn đặt ra cho tất cả
các môn đệ của Ngài, cũng như cho tất cả những người muốn tin theo Ngài, khi
Ngài tuyên bố những tư tưởng mới, làm đảo lộn trật tự và quan niệm của mọi
người, ở mọi nơi và trong mọi lúc:</span></p>

thường ca tụng và chọn làm thần tượng của mình những người giàu sang và
quyền thế. Họ có thể là những chính trị gia đầy quyền lực, đã thành công
trong việc điều hành đất nước. Họ có thể là những tay tỷ phú đã thành công
trong việc buôn bán. Họ có thể là những nữ tài tử, những ca sĩ đã thành công
trong lãnh vực nghệ thuật và đã bước lên đài danh vọng. Họ có thể là những
lực sĩ, những cầu thủ, những vận động viên nhà nghề đã thành công trong phạm
vi thể thao và đã từng đoạt được những chiếc huy chương vàng tại các giải
quốc tế…Tất cả những người này đều hãnh diện và thoả mãn về những thành tích
cũng như về những gì đã đưa họ tới đỉnh vinh quang.</span></p>

tiếng, đã đi ngược lại với những thành công rực rỡ của họ. Người đó chính là
Đức Kitô khi Ngài công bố bài giảng trên núi về tám mối phúc thật mà chúng
ta vốn gọi đó là bản hiến chương Nước Trời.</span></p>

với những gì thế gian theo đuổi hay nói cách khác, so sánh tinh thần của
Chúa với tinh thần của thế gian chúng ta thấy chúng hoàn toàn khác biệt nhau
như lửa và nước, như ánh sáng và bóng tối…để rồi cuối cùng đã dẫn tới những
hậu quả cũng hoàn toàn khác biệt: một bên là hạnh phúc đời đời còn một bên
là khổ đau luôn mãi trong cuộc sống bên kia.</span></p>

<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Để trở thành người môn đệ của Chúa,
chúng ta phải bước đi trên con đường Ngài đã chỉ cho. Để được thừa hưởng
niềm hạnh phúc vĩnh cửu, chúng ta phải tuân giữ những điều Chúa đã truyền
dạy. Vì thế, điều quan trọng đối với chúng ta trong lúc này là phải làm thế
nào để biến những lời chúc phúc của Chúa trở thành sự thật.</span></p>

Gandhi, các nhà truyền giáo đã làm xuất phát tại Ấn Độ một phong trào dấn
thân để phục vụ. Và đối tường được phục vụ là những trẻ em mồ côi, những
người bị xã hội ruồng bỏ, những người mắc phải những chứng bệnh nan y và
truyền nhiễm, những người đang trong cơn hấp hối…Tất cả đều được chăm sóc,
nuôi dưỡng và nhất là được trọng kính và yêu thương bởi những bàn tay dịu
dàng, chẳng hạn như của các nữ tu Thừa Sai Bác Ái, do Mẹ Têrêsa sáng lập,
người mà vừa mới được Đức Thánh Cha Gioan Phaolô II tôn phong lên bậc chân
phước vào sáng Chúa nhật ngày 19 tháng 10 năm 2003.</span></p>

hội đoàn khác và những người thiện chí đang cố gắng xoa dịu những nỗi khổ
đau của người dân Ấn Độ, cũng như đấu tranh cho quyền lợi của trẻ em, phụ nữ
và những kẻ thấp cổ bé miệng.</span></p>

những hành động bác ái và yêu thương, để nhờ đó góp phần vào việc làm cho
những lời chúc phúc của Chúa được trở nên sự thật ngay trong cuộc sống hôm
