1. Cha hỏi chúng con niềm vui là gì?</span></i></b></p>

Cha kể cho chúng con câu chuyện này: </span>

Có một cậu bé muốn đi gặp Chúa Giêsu, để chuẩn bị cho cuộc hành trình,
cậu bỏ vào giỏ mấy chiếc bánh và hai chai sữa tươi. Và cậu bé lên đường,
lòng vui tươi hớn hở. Mới đi được mấy dãy phố, cậu chợt thấy một bà cụ
già đang ngồi trên một chiếc ghế đá công viên. Cậu thấy mỏi chân nên
quyết định ngồi nghỉ một chút bên cạnh bà lão. Cậu lấy một chai sữa tươi
ra, định uống cho đỡ khát. </span></p>

Nhưng nhìn sang, thấy bà cụ run lập cập, có lẽ vì đói quá chăng. Cậu
liền lấy bánh lẫn sữa ra mời bà. Bà cụ nhận tất cả với một nụ cười cảm
động và biết ơn ôi nụ cười mới đẹp làm sao? Thế là hai bà cháu mải mê
ngồi ăn uống và nói chuyện vui vẻ với nhau mãi.</span></p>

Trong khi đó, bà lão cũng chậm rãi trở về nhà, lòng chan chứa một niềm
bình an. Cậu con trai lớn của bà hỏi thăm ngay từ cửa: </span></p>

- Này, con có ngờ được không? Hôm nay mẹ đã cùng được ngồi ăn trưa với
đức Giêsu. Người trẻ hơn mẹ tương nhiều con ạ! </span></p>

2. Làm sao để mình có được niềm vui?</span></i></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 14.4pt">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Thánh Gioan cho chúng ta một bí quyết: <b><i>Sống mỗi ngày tốt hơn một
tí</i> </b></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 14.4pt">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Cha thấy ông Gioan là một người rất thực tế. Ông không đòi hỏi ai điều
khó, khó đến nỗi họ không làm được. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 14.4pt">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Chúng con thấy khi những <b><i>người lính</i></b> đến hỏi ông thì ông
trả lời: "Hãy bằng lòng với đồng lương của mình."</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 14.4pt">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Với những người <b><i>thu thuế</i></b> thì ông bảo: "Đừng có hà hiếp
ai."</span></p>

<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Những người <b><i>có đạo</i></b>, ông khuyên người ta: “Ai có hai áo,
thì <b><i>chia</i></b> cho người không có; ai có gì ăn, thì cũng làm như
vậy.”</span></p>

Cha hỏi chúng con: Tại sao ông Gioan lại đưa ra những lời khuyên khác
nhau như vậy? Có phải ông phân biệt đối xử hay không? Hay là ông không
muốn mọi người đều phải được đối xử <b><i>như nhau</i></b>.</span></p>

Không phải thế chúng con!</span><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">

phải nói như thế này mới đúng: Ông Gioan đã không </span>
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
dám bắt mọi người phải sống hoàn hảo như nhau. </span>
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Ông chỉ muốn mỗi người sống mỗi ngày tốt hơn một tí. Những người chưa có
được cuộc sống theo lẽ công bình thì hãy cố gắng sống công bình với mọi
người. Những ai đã quen với cuộc sống công bình rồi thì cố gắng đưa cuộc
sống mình lên cao hơn để sống bác ái. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 14.4pt">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Với những người thu thuế và những người lính, họ đã quen sống thiếu công
bằng và chưa biết sống bác ái yêu thương, nghĩa là họ chỉ quen sống với
điều mà người ta gọi là luật rừng, ông chỉ dám khuyên họ sống tốt hơn
một chút. Sống tốt hơn ở đây là biết cư xử công bình với nhau.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 36px; margin-bottom: 14.4pt">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Còn đối với những người đã biết sống công bình, ông khuyên họ đưa cuộc
sống của họ lên cao một tí. Cao ở đây là lên tới cuộc sống bác ái yêu
thương. Bác ái yêu thương ở đây là biết chia sẻ. </span></p>

3. Thí dụ cụ thể.</span></i></b></p>

Có lần, một sinh viên nói với nhà khoa học và triết học Blaise Pascal:</span></p>

- Nếu cháu được tài giỏi như chú, cháu sẽ trở thành một người tốt hơn!</span></p>

- Điều đầu tiên là cháu hãy trở thành một người tốt hơn, rồi cháu sẽ
được tài giỏi như chú!</span></p>

<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt">Tại một tiệm bán thực phẩm cho
các loài chim kia, vì muốn thu hút khách hàng, nên ông chủ tiệm bắt được
con phượng hoàng đem nhốt vào cái lồng lớn đặt trong tiệm.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 36px; margin-left: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 14.4pt">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt">Một hôm, có hai ông cháu từ
miền núi xuống thành phố mua đồ. Khi đi ngang qua tiệm, vừa trông thấy
con chim phượng hoàng bị nhốt trong lồng, ông ta động lòng thương hại,
liền ngỏ ý với ông chủ tiệm xin mua con chim ấy.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 36px; margin-left: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 14.4pt">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt">Không để mất cơ hội, ông chủ
tiệm đòi giá tiền thật cao.</span></p>

<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt">Không một lời trả giá, người
khách hàng đi thẳng tới nhà ngân hàng, rút số tiền cần thiết và trở lại
tiệm mua chim phượng phoàng. Ông ta vui mừng ẵm con chim trên tay bước
ra khỏi tiệm. Vừa bước chân tới quãng đường vắng, ông ta liền mở tay ra
để chim được tự do bay bổng giữa bầu trời mênh mông của nó.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 36px; margin-left: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 14.4pt">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt">Ngạc nhiên trước việc làm của
ông, đứa cháu nhỏ tò mò lên tiếng hỏi:</span></p>

<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt">- Thưa ông nội, tại sao ông
lại sẵn sàng hy sinh một số tiền lớn như vậy để chuộc trả tự do cho con
chim phượng hoàng ấy.</span></p>

điều này: trên đời, giàu sang không chỉ căn cứ trên những gì mình có thể
chiếm đoạt được mà thôi, nhưng chính là trên những gì mình <b><i>cần
phải cho đi, </i></b>để có thể thực hiện được điều tốt lành cần phải
làm.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 36px; margin-left: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 14.4pt">
<span lang="VI" style="font-size: 14.0pt"> Hay quá chúng con! Làm sao có
thể thực hiện được những điều tốt đẹp mà mình cần phải làm. Chẳng thiếu
gì những điều như thế chung quanh cuộc sống của mỗi người chúng ta. Cha
cho chúng con một thí dụ. </span></p>

Người chủ cửa hàng mỉm cười rồi huýt sáo ra hiệu. Từ trong chiếc cũi,
năm chú chó con bé xíu như năm cuộn len chạy ra, duy có một chú bị <b>
<i>tụt lại</i></b> sau khá xa. Ngay lập tức, cậu bé chú ý tới chú chó
chậm chạp, hơi khập khiễng đó. Cậu liền hỏi: </span></p>
