Trước khi bước vào đời sống công khai đi rao giảng Tin mừng
cứu độ, Chúa Giêsu đến xin ông Gioan Tẩy giả làm phép rửa cho mình tại
sông Giorđan. Ngài hòa nhập với dòng người đến nhận phép rửa, không phải
để xin ơn tha tội vì Ngài là Đấng trong sạch vô cùng, nhưng Ngài nêu
gương khiêm hạ cho mọi người; đồng thời thánh hóa nước để thanh tẩy
trong phép Rửa tội mà Ngài sẽ thiết lập.</span></p>

Sau khi được kéo ra khỏi nước và đang khi cầu nguyện, Chúa
Giêsu thấy” <i>trời mở ra và Thánh Thần hiện hình giống như chim bồ câu
ngự xuống trên Người. Lại có tiếng từ trời phán rằng :”Con là Con của
Cha, ngày hôm nay Cha đã sinh ra Con”(Lc 3,21-22</i>). Đấy là lời Chúa
Cha tuyên phong Đức Giêsu là Đấng Messia để ra đi rao giảng Tin mừng
cứu độ.</span></p>

Chúa Giêsu đã thiết lập Bí tích Rửa tội để tha tội cho chúng
ta. Mọi người đã được chịu phép Rửa tội đều được gọi là Kitô hữu, một
danh hiệu vô cùng cao quí. Vì thế, mỗi Kitô hữu phải sống cho xứng
với hồng ân được mang danh Chúa Kitô, được sát nhập vào Chúa Kitô. Mọi
người phải lo chu toàn sứ vụ của mình đối với gia đình, đối với xã hội,
đối với Giáo hội và đối với mọi người, để đời sống của chúng ta phải
được ca ngợi là chứng nhân trung thành của Chúa, có một đời sống <i>“nội
thánh ngoại vương”.</i></span></p>

Babylon. Để khích lệ họ,ïtiên tri Isaia loan báo : họ vinh dự được Thiên
Chúa chọn làm đầy tớ lý tưởng của Ngài, có trách nhiệm giới thiệu Thiên
Chúa cho dân ngoại.</span></p>

Đây là bài thứ nhất trong 4 bài ca về Người Tôi Tớ trong sách
đệ nhị Isaia. Vì được Thánh Thần ngự trên mình, Người Tôi Tớ của Thiên
Chúa là Đấng mạnh mẽ và sẽ chiến thắng mọi kẻ thù. Nhưng Ngài không
thích dùng bạo lực, trái lại, Ngài yêu thương cứu vớt những kẻ tội lỗi
yếu đuối, <i>“không lớn tiếng</i>”, “<i>không bẻ gẫy cây lau bị dập,
không dập tắt tim đèn còn leo lét”.</i></span></p>

Tất cả những nét Isaia mô tả Người Tôi Tớ đều được thực hiện
nơi Đức Giêsu. Chính Đức Giêsu sẽ đảm nhận vai trò Người Tôi Tớ. Vai
trò này, Ngài sẽ hoàn thành khi biến tôn giáo của đức tin thành một sự
ưng thuận thắm tình con thảo mà mọi người đều có thể nói lên, dù người
ấy thuộc bất cứ nền văn hoá hay quốc gia nào. Theo gương Đức Kitô, các
Kitô hữu cũng phải thực hiện nhiệm vụ trên.</span></p>

Đây là phần đầu bài giảng của thánh Phêrô ở Cêsarêa cho ông
Corneliô, viên sĩ quan Rôma và gia đình của ông để giúp họ hoán cải và
chịu phép rửa. Đây là một việc làm có tính cách cách mạng vì từ trước
đến nay các tông đồ chưa nghĩ đến việc cho người ngoại gia nhập Giáo
hội.</span></p>

Trong bài nói chuyện với người Do thái, Phêrô cho biết sở dĩ
Ngài dám làm như vậy vì “<i>Thiên Chúa không thiên tư tây vị ai, hễ ai
thực hành sự công chính, đều được Ngài đón nhận</i>”. Chính Đức Giêsu
Nazareth đã được Thiên Chúa dùng Thánh Thần và quyền năng xức dầu tấn
phong Ngài và Ngài đã đi khắp nơi để ban phát ơn lành.</span></p>

làm phép rửa trong Chúa Thánh Thần.</span></p>

Chúng ta đang ở bên bờ sông Giorđan, nơi Gioan Tẩy giả rao
giảng, kêu gọi mọi người sám hối, nhận phép rửa để được ơn tha thứ. Thế
nhưng, chúng ta thấy rằng điều quan trọng không phải chỉ nhằm ở việc ông
Gioan rao giảng, mọi người tuốn đến lãnh nhận phép rửa,… mà đó còn xẩy
ra một sự kiện hết sức trọng đại : Chúa Giêsu cùng với bao nhiêu người
khác đi vào dòng sông Giorđan để lãnh nhận phép rửa từ tay ông Gioan.</span></p>

Sự kiện Chúa Giêsu chịu phép rửa không chỉ là bước khởi đầu
cho sứ vụ rao giảng Tin mừng mà Chúa sẽ thực hiện sau này; biến cố chịu
phép rửa cũng không chỉ là việc Chúa Giêsu được Gioan Tẩy giả giới thiệu
mà đó còn là một sự kiện xuất phát từ chính Thiên Chúa được minh chứng
bằng những việc lạ lùng như việc trời mở ra và việc Thánh Thần dưới hình
chim bồ câu ngự trên Người cùng với lời tuyên phong của Chúa Cha.</span></p>

Đời sống công khai của Chúa Giêsu bắt đầu bằng việc Người chịu
phép rửa (Lc 3,21). Mặc dầu phép rửa mà Chúa lãnh nhận không phải là bí
tích rửa tội, nghĩa là không để được tha tội vì Người không có tội, phép
rửa đó cũng đánh dấu quyết liệt trong đời sống của Người. Phép rửa đánh
dấu cái sứ mệnh công khai của Người trong việc rao giảng và chữa
lành. Người chịu phép rửa để thánh hóa nước để trở thành chất thể trong
bí tích rửa tội do Người thiết lập.</span></p>

Phụng vụ Lời Chúa hôm nay gợi lên ý tưởng một cuộc lễ phong
vương. Ngày xưa khi một vị hoàng vương được tôn lên làm vua thì họ phải
trải qua một cuộc phong vương gồm ba sự việc :</span></p>

- Phải tắm rửa sạch sẽ.</span></p>

bồ câu. Lại có tiếng từ trời phán rằng :”Con là Con của Cha, ngày hôm

Chúa Giêsu xin đến rửa, không phải là cho mình, mà là cho
người khác, vì người khác. Người chịu phép rửa là có ý nói lên : từ nay,
Người chung số phận với người tội lỗi và đó là tất cả ý nghĩa đời Người,
và cuộc đời này chỉ hoàn tất với Phép Rửa cuối cùng, của sự chết (Lc
12,50) vì chết là cùng chung số phận của con người tội lỗi, con người bị
sa ngã và là số phận bi đát nhất, tệ hại nhất.</span></p>

Chúa Giêsu đến với ông Gioan để lãnh nhận phép rửa, nhưng
chính ông Gioan đã khẳng định ông chỉ làm phép rửa bằng nước, còn Chúa
Giêsu là Đấng làm phép rửa trong Thánh Thần. Chúa Giêsu đã khai mở bí
tích Rửa tội cho những kẻ theo Người bằng việc đích thân Người xin lãnh
phép rửa từ Gioan. Chúa Giêsu muốn chúng ta có sự tiếp nối giữa Giao ước
cũ và Giao ước mới, tiếp nối giữa lời rao giảng của vị tiên tri cuối
cùng cao đẹp hơn tất cả các vị trước với lời rao giảng của chính Người
để thiết lập Nước Thiên Chúa. Tuy nhiên, lễ rửa này Người đã biến đổi để
có thể thực sự khai mào cho Bí tích Rửa tội.</span></p>

Khi Chúa Giêsu để cho Gioan dìm mình trong nước không phải là
để thanh tẩy Người vì Người không vương tội lỗi, Người muốn nói lên một
ý nghĩa khác, đó là loan báo cái chết và sự phục sinh của Người : dìm
mình xuống nước là biểu hiệu cái chết, trồi lên khỏi nước là loan báo sự
sống lại.</span></p>

Khi chúng ta nhận lãnh bí tích Rửa tội, Chúa Giêsu cũng muốn
chúng ta tham dự vào sự chết và sống lại của Người. Chúng ta vào đời
khi được sinh ra, và vào đạo Thiên Chúa khi được rửa tội. Trong phép
rửa tội chúng ta được thanh tẩy mọi tội lỗi, tội tổ tông và tội
riêng. Do đó, nó biến chúng ta thành “một tạo vật mới” (2Cr 5,17), một
nghĩa tử của Thiên Chúa (Gl 4,5-7), được thông phần vào sự sống thần
linh (2Pr 1,4), trở nên chi thể của Chúa Kitô (Rm 8,17) và được gọi là
đền thờ của Chúa Thánh Thần (1Cr 6,15).</span></p>

cùng các hồng ân của Chúa Thánh Thần. Tóm lại, “toàn bộ cơ thể của sự
sống siêu nhiên của người Kitô hữu bắt nguồn nơi bí tích Rửa tội (Giáo
lý Công giáo, số 1266).</span></p>

ghi nhớ của chúng ta. Đức Giáo hoàng Piô XI đã nói với hàng ngàn thanh
niên nhân ngày kỷ niệm rửa tội của Ngài :”<i>Ngày chịu phép rửa tội là
ngày cao quí nhất của đời Cha. Cũng như ngày các con chịu phép rửa tội
là ngày cao quí nhất của đời các con”.</i></span></p>

gặp dân chúng trong nguyện đường và dạy dỗ nhiều người. Chính ở
Antiochia lần đầu tiên, những tín hữu được gọi là Kitô hữu”(Cv 11,26)</i></span></p>

Kitô. Đó là tước hiệu cao cả của chúng ta. Tước hiệu ấy không chỉ sáng

Nếu mang áo quần của người khác, gầy dép của người khác, thì mình sẽ như
thế nào ? Và từ đó bà khám phá ra ý nghĩa của Kitô giáo. Kitô hữu là
người mang giầy của người khác : giầy của Chúa Kitô. Họ đi đến nơi mà
Chúa Giêsu muốn đến và làm những gì Ngài muốn thực hiện. Và đó cũng là

cách tuyệt hảo. Mỗi người chúng ta cũng có một sứ mạng. Vậy mỗi người

Chiêm ngắm Đức Giêsu chịu phép rửa không thể không nhắc nhở
chúng ta nhớ đến sứ vụ của người Kitô hữu. Nhờ Bí tích Rửa tội chúng ta
được nhận làm con Thiên Chúa, được hưởng gia tài vĩnh cửu của Thiên Chúa
và nhất là cùng được sai đi đến với mọi người. Không việc làm gì cụ
thể khác hơn là chúng ta học theo mẫu gương của Đức Giêsu và thực thi sứ
mạng rao giảng Tin mừng, để nối tiếp công việc của Ngài.</span></p>

Là con cái Thiên Chúa quả là một hạnh phúc lớn lao mà Thiên
Chúa ban cho mỗi người. Nhưng chúng ta phải làm gì để Chúa Cha được hài
lòng ? Nếu Bí tích Rửa tội được cử hành cần đến nước thì cuộc sống người
Kitô hữu cũng cần được gội rửa trong nước để trở nên thanh sạch và bắt
đầu cuộc sống mới, trở nên con người mới thuộc hoàn toàn về Thiên Chúa.
Muốn được như vậy mọi suy nghĩ, lời nói, và hành động của chúng ta phải
phù hợp với thánh ý của Thiên Chúa, hơn là ý riêng của mình, và hãy để
cho Chúa Thánh Thần dẫn dắt như Đức Giêsu.</span></p>

Có hai người bộ hành đi đường xa mệt nhọc, đêm đến phải vào
ngủ trong một cái miếu nổi tiếng là có ma quái. Một người là Kitô hữu
tin tưởng vào sự che chở của Chúa nên không chút sợ hãi. Trái lại,
người bộ hành không phải Kitô hữu lại cảm thấy lo sợ, nên đã đề nghị với
người bạn cho mình mượn Thánh giá đeo cổ.</span></p>

Quả thực, đêm đó yêu tinh xuất hiện, nó lần mò đến từng người,
sờ vào cổ người Kitô để sát hại. Con yêu tinh mới thốt lên :”Người này
có trong mà không có ngoài”, nghĩa là người này là Kitô đích thực, dù
không đeo một dấu hiệu nào.</span></p>

Sang người bộ hành kia, con yêu tinh chạm đến Thánh giá trên

chúng ta có đích thực là tâm hồn Kitô hữu không ? Hay có lẽ chúng
ta chỉ có cái bên ngoài hào nhoáng của thời trang, mà bên trong lại
trống rỗng (Mỗi ngày một tin vui, tr 119).</span></p>

Chúng ta thường gọi vua Đavít là thánh vương. Người Á đông
cũng gọi các vua đạo đức thánh thiện là “thánh vương” như vua Văn, vua
Vu thời xưa. Người ta lấy câu nói của Vương Dương Minh làm châm ngôn
cuộc sống của các vị ấy :”<b><i>Nội thánh, ngoại vương</i></b>”, bên
trong là vị thánh, bên ngoài là một ông vua.</span></p>
