Á Đông nói chung, và đặc biệt đối với người Việt Nam, chúng ta rất quan
trọng về những sinh hoạt truyền thống của gia đình. ‘Ngày lễ Giỗ’, ‘lễ
Cưới’, ‘Ngày Tết’ … là những dịp quan trọng để người Việt Nam chúng ta

<font size="4">Có một điểm rất khác biệt giữa nền Văn Hóa Á Đông, người Việt Nam chúng
ta, và người Tây Phương ở chỗ là; thông thường, người Tây Phương, khi họ
có những buổi họp mặt gia đình và bạn bè, họ thường tổ chức tại công
viên, nhà hàng, bãi biển, hay tại những khu du lịch, để họ cùng nhau
tiệc mừng và vui chơi giải trí. Văn hóa người Việt Nam chúng ta đa phần
thì lại khác, chúng ta thường ‘kéo nhau’ về ‘Quê’ trong những dịp đoàn
tụ gia đình và bạn bè. Chúng ta vẫn thường hay kháo nhau, ‘về quê ăn
giỗ, ăn cưới’, hay ‘về quê ăn Tết.’ Có lẽ cái văn hóa ‘Quê Hương’ này đã
trở nên quá quen thuộc đối với chúng ta đến nỗi đôi khi chúng ta chỉ
thực hành như một thói quen mà ít ai để ý tới, hay tự hỏi; ‘Tại sao
chúng ta lại phải về ‘Quê’ trong những cuộc hội ngộ, những lần gia đình
đoàn tụ quan trọng như vậy?’</font></span></p>

<span>Phải chăng danh từ ‘Quê Hương’ đối với người việt nam chúng ta không còn
đơn thuần là một danh từ được dùng để chỉ nơi chốn- địa phương, như được
định nghĩa trong tự điển hán- việt. Danh từ ‘Quê Hương’ được dùng để
diễn tả tâm tư, tình cảm. Danh từ ‘Quê Hương’ được nhắc đến như muốn gợi
lại trong ký ức người nghe hình ảnh thiêng liêng, cao quý, thanh tao,
lòng nhiệt huyết, sự mạnh mẽ và cũng lại rất ấm áp nồng nàn. Tôi muốn
mời gọi các bạn cùng kiểm chứng những suy nghĩ của tôi vừa trình bày
trên đây bằng cách các bạn hãy dành ra một phút để suy nghĩ và cảm
nghiệm cái hương vị của những danh từ ‘Quê Hương’, ‘Quê Mẹ’. Có lẽ nếu
thời gian mà các bạn dành ra để suy tư về ý nghĩa của những danh từ này
càng nhiều, càng lâu bao nhiêu thì các bạn sẽ cảm thấy ý nghĩa của nó
càng sâu thẳm, càng bao la và càng rộng lớn bấy nhiêu.</span></span></span></font></p>

<span>Hiểu như thế ‘Quê’ không còn là địa danh, nơi chốn nhưng ‘Quê’ đang hiện
hữu trong ký ức của mỗi người chúng ta, ‘Quê Hương, nếu ai không nhớ, sẽ
không lớn nổi thành người’ là vậy đó. ‘Quê Hương’ nghe có vẻ vừa trừu
tượng, xa xăm, nhưng lại như vừa quá gần gũi đâu đây. Phải chăng khi
nhắc đến ‘Quê Hương’, ‘Quê Mẹ’, ‘Quê’, đưa ta đến một cảm giác thân
thương về tình cảm khó quên trong ký ức, một thứ tình cảm bao la rộng
lớn, một thứ tình cảm vô bờ bến nhưng có lẽ cũng quá gần gũi trong tầm
tay, có lẽ cũng đang ngự trị trong tâm khảm của mỗi con người chúng ta.
Đối với tôi có lẽ tình cảm thiêng liêng cao quý mà tôi thường nghĩ mỗi
khi nhắc đến ‘Quê’ là tình Mẫu- Tử.</span></span></span></font></p>

hãy dành ra ít phút để nhìn lại những nghĩa cử cao đẹp mà người Mẹ của
chúng ta đã thể hiện cho chúng ta. Khi nhắc tới Mẹ, chắc hẳn mỗi người
trong chúng ta ai ai cũng trào dâng lên trong lòng mình, một cảm giác êm
ái dịu dàng, những ấn tượng khó quên, những kỷ niệm yêu thương triều
mến, những hy sinh vất vả, những tảo tần mưa gió mà người Mẹ của mình đã
và đang dành cho mình, trong từng ngày sống.</span></span></span></font></p>

<span>Chắc hẳn chúng ta vẫn còn nhớ một câu chuyện có thật đã xảy ra cách đây
chưa lâu đã làm cho cả thế giới phải cảm kích và khâm phục. Chuyện xảy
ra trong một biến cố động đất vào năm 1987 tại bang Xô Viết, cũng như
hàng chục ngàn người khác bị chôn vùi trong đống gạch vụn, Bà Suzanna và
người con của mình may mắn hơn đã bị kẹt dưới một bức tường bị đổ, chỉ
vừa đủ chỗ cho hai mẹ con bà cựa quậy trong bóng tối. Sau hai ngày bị
chôn vùi như vậy đứa con của bà kêu lên, ‘Mẹ ơi con khát nước, mẹ lấy
nước cho con uống’. Đang khi bị chôn vùi như vậy, lấy đâu ra nước mà cho
con mình uống, chính bản thân bà, chắc chắn bà cũng đang mơ đến những
giọt nước đó mà không dám nghĩ đến việc có nước để mà uống. Nhưng chỉ vì
tiếng kêu khát của đứa con mình, bà đã nghĩ ra một cách mạo hiểm, với
bàn tay gầy xương xẩu, bà quờ quạng trong bóng tối và tìm được một mẩu
gạch vụn. Bà đã dùng mẩu gạch đó cắt trên đầu một ngón tay của mình, bà
đút ngón tay vào miệng con, hy vọng với những giọt máu yếu ớt đó con bà
sẽ được đỡ khát. Được một lúc sau, đứa con bà lại kêu khát, bà lại cắt
tiếp thêm một ngón nữa và đút vào miệng con mình. Sau vài ngày bị chôn
vùi, cả bà và đứa con của bà đã may mắn được cứu sống. Khi người ta hỏi
bà là tại sao bà lại làm như vậy, có thể bà sẽ bị chết nếu như không
được giải cứu kịp thời. Bà trả lời rất đơn giản, ‘Tôi biết chắc chắn là
tôi sẽ chết, nhưng lúc đó tôi chỉ suy nghĩ một điều duy nhất, là làm thế
nào để cho con tôi được sống.’ Câu trả lời xem ra đơn giản, nhưng bà sẽ
không thốt ra được nếu như nó không được bắt nguồn từ tình mẫu tử xâu
thẳm trong tấm lòng của bà.</span></span></span></font></p>

chúng ta đó các bạn ạ. Đó chính là cái nơi mà chúng ta cần phải trở về
trong những dịp quan trọng như những ngày đầu năm mới này. Chắc hẳn ai
trong chúng ta cũng có những kỷ niệm yêu thương êm đềm, mà mẹ mình đã
dành cho mình, đã hy sinh cho mình để mình có được những gì như ngày hôm
nay, nhất là tình mẫu tử của người Á Đông chúng ta. Có những bà mẹ, suốt
đời chân lấm tay bùn, chỉ với ước nguyện là con mình được ăn no mặc ấm.
Có những người mẹ, quanh năm tảo tần chỉ vì muốn cho con mình được cắp
sách tới trường. Có những người mẹ sẵn sàng để cho thân xác mình bị gầy
gò đi, bị hao mòn đi, chỉ vì muốn cho con mình được lớn khôn và xinh
đẹp. Có những người mẹ sau một ngày lao động mệt mỏi, vẫn sẵn sàng thức
trắng đêm, để lo cho con của mình, khi nó chỉ bị nhức đầu hay chỉ bị cảm
nhẹ. Có những bà mẹ quằn quại trong những cơn đau bệnh nhưng không dám
khóc than thành tiếng, chỉ vì sợ những đứa con của mình bị phân tâm
trong công việc làm ăn, hay sợ ảnh hưởng đến việc học hành của chúng. Có
những bà mẹ, quằn quại trong đau bệnh nhưng không dám uống thuốc chỉ vì
sợ con mình ngày mai đến trường không có tiền quà sáng. Có những bà mẹ
sẵn sàng nhận phần thua thiệt, sẵn sàng nhận lãnh những khinh chê trong
xã hội, để con mình được hiên ngang ngẩng mặt nhìn đời, để đường tiến
thân cho con mình được rộng rãi thênh thang. Và rồi có những bà mẹ lo
cho con chưa xong, lại còn phải lo thêm cho cháu nữa, để những người con

<span>Phải chăng tất cả những nghĩa cử cao quý đó được người Việt Nam chúng ta
ngắn gọn hóa bằng hai chữ ‘Quê Hương’. Phải chăng những tình cảm đó được
nhạc sĩ Trịnh Công Sơn ưu ái gọi là ‘Một cõi đi về’. Hôm nay nhân những
ngày trọng đại bắt đầu của một năm mới, chúng ta hãy dành ra ít phút để
tôn vinh mẹ của chúng ta, cho dù còn sống hay đã qua đời. Chúng ta bằng
cách này hay cách khác, hãy nói lên lời tạ lỗi với người mẹ của chúng
ta, vì đã bao lần chúng ta chưa làm tròn bổn phận của đạo làm con. Chúng
ta đã quá dửng dưng và vô tình đối với tình mẫu tử cao vời mà chúng ta
đã và đang hưởng được. Sự nâng niu che chở, sự lo lắng vỗ về, sự hy sinh
tận tụy, để cho chúng ta được lớn khôn, để con đường tiến thân của ta
được rộng rãi thênh thang hơn. “Tôi biết chắc chắn tôi sẽ chết, nhưng
tôi chỉ muốn một điều là con tôi được sống” đó cũng chính là câu nói mà
người mẹ của mình đã và đang nói bằng chính cuộc sống của các Ngài.</span></span></span></font></p>

nhưng nếu được hòa chung với sự ấm áp, dịu dàng êm ái của tình Mẹ, thiết
nghĩ thực phẩm sống của chúng ta thêm đậm đà bổ ích hơn. Đây cũng là lý
do chúng ta cần phải về ‘Quê’ để ‘Ăn Tết’. Để rồi, chúng ta cũng hãy cầu
nguyện cho mẹ của chúng ta được an nhàn thư thái, được bớt đi gánh nặng,
những nỗi lo sầu khi còn sống, và xin thiên Chúa trả công cho các ngài
khi đã qua đời.</span></span></span></font></p>
