Có một người thưa với Mẹ Tê-rê-xa :"Thưa Mẹ Tê-rê-xa, Mẹ đã yêu
thương đám quần chúng mà người khác xem họ như những đống rác rưởi của nhân
loại. Con muốn biết nhờ bí quyết nào mà Mẹ có thể yêu thương được như thế?".
Mẹ Tê-rê-xa từ tốn trả lời :"Bí quyết của tôi thật giản đơn : Tôi cầu
nguyện".</span></p>

Trong khi đó W.Grossoum lại nhìn thế giới với không ít bi quan
khi nhận xét rằng :"Thế giới đang bịnh hoạn vì thiếu tình yêu. Thiếu tình
yêu vì chúng ta không cầu nguyện đủ".</span></p>

Quả thật nếu chúng ta chưa cầu nguyện đũ, hoặc chúng ta chưa dám
chọn "cầu nguyện", như Mẹ Tê-rê-xa, làm bí quyết để yêu thương con người,
yêu thương nhau, thì thật là thích hợp khi chúng ta cùng bắt đầu "những ngày
sa mạc" nầy bằng cách chiêm ngắm ĐỨC KI-TÔ, CON NGƯỜI CẦU NGUYỆN. </span></p>

I. Đức Ki-tô cầu nguyện không ngừng.</span></p>

Qua những chỉ dẫn của Tin Mừng, chúng ta gặp một Đức Ki-tô có
một đời sống cầu nguyện sâu xa, liên lỉ.</span></p>

II. Nội dung cốt yếu trong lời cầu nguyện của Chúa Giê-su. </span></p>

1). Tiếng "ABBA" (Cha ơi, Ba ơi) thân thương: </span></p>

Chúng ta đừng quên rằng : dân Ít-ra-en cũng cầu nguyện với Thiên
Chúa bằng tiếng "ABBA". Tuy nhiên, trong tiếng "abba" đó vẫn mang chiều kích
"kính nhi viển chi", xa xôi, cách biệt, chung chung. Thiên Chúa là "Cha
chung" của mọi người, của cả dân tộc Ít-ra-en, của một cộng đồng...</span></p>

Chỉ với Đức Ki-tô, trong Đức Ki-tô và trên môi miệng Đức Ki-tô,
tiếng "abba" mới vang lên trọn vẹn ý nghĩa của tình thân mật, gần gũi, của
mối thâm tình Cha-Con, của tương quan liên vị Phụ-Tử.</span></p>

2). Trong tiếng "CON" của Đức Ki-tô có cả nhân loại: </span></p>

Nhưng cái độc đáo và cũng là khúc quanh quan trọng, tuyệt đối
nơi lời nguyện của Đức Ki-tô đó là : trong tiếng "CON" mà Ngài thưa với Chúa
Cha có cả nhân loại. Vâng, qua cái chết và sự phục sinh của Ngài, Đức Ki-tô
đã qui tụ tất cả nhân loại trong Ngài để đem về cho Chúa Cha. Ngài đã kéo
mọi sự lên cùng với Ngài. (Ga 12, 32). Nhờ sống trọn vẹn ý nghĩa tình Con
đối với Cha trong sự vâng phục thánh ý, Đức Ki-tô đã đem nhân loại vào sự
sống vĩnh cửu.</span></p>

"Khi còn sống kiếp phàm nhân, Đức Giê-su đã lớn tiếng kêu van khóc lóc mà
dâng lời khẩn nguyện nài xin lên Đấng có quyền năng cứu Người khỏi
chết....và khi chính bản thân đã tới mức thập toàn, Người trở nên nguồn ơn
cứu độ vĩnh cửu cho tất cả những ai tùng phục Người, vì Người đã được Thiên
Chúa tôn xưng là Thượng Tế theo phẩm trật Men-ki-xê-đê"(Dt 5, 7.9-10). </span></p>

III. Hai ngàn năm Dân Chúa nguyện cầu. </span></p>

1. Kinh Lạy Cha : Trung thành với lời dạy của Chúa Ki-tô, Hội
Thánh, Đoàn Dân Mới của Thiên Chúa, luôn trung thành chiêm ngưỡng "Phu Quân"
cầu nguyện và học cách cầu nguyện với Ngài và trong Ngài.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0">

</span></p>

Lời kinh đẹp nhất của Hội Thánh được vang lên suốt 2000 năm qua vẫn mãi là
"KINH LẠY CHA". Đây chính là lời kinh tiêu chuẩn mà mọi kinh nguyện khác
phải qui hướng về. Chính nơi lời kinh nầy chúng ta gặp được hai yếu tố nền
tảng chất chứa trong hai tiếng "ABBA" và "CHÚNG CON" :</span></p>

v Tiếng "ABBA" (Lạy Cha) đầy thân thương diễn tả cả một chân trời của ơn
cứu độ. Chẳng phải cùng đích của chương trình cứu rỗi của Thiên Chúa là để
chúng ta trở thành con cái Thiên Chúa trong Đức Ki-tô đó sao ? Và phải chăng
chính tiếng "ABBA" thân mật, gần gũi ấy đã làm cho việc mặc khải dung mạo từ
nhân của "Thiên Chúa là Cha" do Đức Ki-tô mang đến trở nên sinh động và cụ
thể.</span></p>

v Trong khi đó tiếng "CHÚNG CON" lại nói lên tính liên đới, hiệp thông,
duy nhất của "đoàn dân được cứu chuộc trong máu Đức Ki-tô", tính công giáo,

Nguyễn Văn Thuận trong Bài giảng của Ngài dành cho Đức Thánh Cha và giáo

toàn gia đình đọc mỗi chiều trong nhà nguyện gia đình, làm tôi nhớ lại tuổi
thơ. Đặc biệt ba kinh Kính Mừng Maria và kinh Hãy Nhớ mà mẹ tôi đã dạy tôi
đọc mỗi sáng chiều.</span></p>

Tôi yêu lời kinh của thánh Phan-xi-cô thành Assisi, người đã suốt đêm ở giữa
tuyết lặp đi lặp lại :"Lạy Chúa con, là tất cả của con!", và lời kinh của
linh mục Marmion, đan viện phụ Maredsous :"Lạy Chúa con, lòng thương xót của
con". Thật thế, trong số các phương tiện giúp duy trì sống động tinh thần
cầu nguyện, có các lời kinh rất ngắn gọn như những mũi tên bắn lên trời, mà
không gì trên thế giới này có thể cấm đoán hay ngăn chặn được, chính vì
chúng là hơi thở của linh hồn và là nhịp đập của con tim.</span></p>

Tôi nhìn lên Chúa Giê-su như là mẫu gương cầu nguyện. Lời cầu của Ngài chân
thành và đơn sơ hướng về Chúa Cha. Cũng có khi lời cầu nguyện của Chúa thật
dài, không theo các công thức dọn sẵn, như lời cầu linh mục sau bữa tiệc ly
: nồng cháy và tự phát.Nhưng thông thường, những lời cầu nguyện của Chúa
Giê-su, Đức Trinh Nữ, và các Tông đồ thật ngắn gọn, nhưng cao đẹp, được liên
kết với cuộc sống thường ngày. Tôi là người yếu đuối và nguội lạnh, tôi yêu
thích cách đặt các lời kinh ngắn gọn nầy trước nhà tạm, nơi bàn làm việc,
đọc trên đường đi, hay khi ở một mình. Các lời nguyện nầy càng được lặp đi
lặp lại, càng thấm nhập vào trong tôi :</span></p>

kín đáo, những cái nhìn, và lời nói thân tình, tạo thành một cuộc sống yêu
thương. Tất cả giúp chúng ta luôn ở trongmột bầu khí cầu nguyện, mà không
buộc chúng ta phải xa rời nhiệm vụ hiện tại, nhưng trái lại giúp chúng ta
thánh hoá mọi sự".</span></p>

Như vậy, chúng ta có thể kết luận với nhau rằng : cho dù ở góc cạnh nào,
theo cách thế nào, với phương pháp nào mặc lòng, thì chiều kích căn bản của
việc cầu nguyện vẫn là hướng về Thiên Chúa, gặp gỡ thân mật với Thiên Chúa,
ngỏ lời cùng Thiên Chúa, với trái tim và đôi tay ôm trọn anh chị em đồng
loại. Đó chính là cung cách mà Đức Ki-tô đã thực hiện và để lại cho chúng ta
như mẫu gương, như chứng từ, như lời dạy căn bản. Đó cũng chính là điều mà
bao nhiêu thế hệ nối tiếp nhau của cộng đoàn Dân Chúa, từ những tháng năm
mịt mờ xa xôi của cựu ước cho đến mãi hôm nay, vẫn không ngừng thực hiện,
như lời của Thánh Tô-ma A-qui-nô :"Bao lâu người ta qui hướng về Chúa, bấy
lâu người ta cầu nguyện". Hay như câu định nghĩa đơn sơ, thanh thoát của
Thánh Nữ Tiến sĩ Tê-rê-xa Hài Đồng Giê-su :</span></p>

siêu vời, làm triển nở tâm hồn và kết hợp em với Chúa Giê-su". Trong khi đó,
Mẹ Tê-rê-xa thành Calcutta đã nói với chúng ta những lời đầy xác tín :</span></p>
