Con người hiện hữu trкn đời, chỉ cу một lần sinh ra vа một lần chết.

Nếu người ta khфng được quyền chọn lựa nơi chốn, gia đмnh vа quк

Cбc tбc giả Tвn ước đều kể lại cбi chết của Đức Giкsu trкn thập giб.
Tuy cу một vаi nйt khбc biệt, nhưng cả bốn sử gia (Matthкu, Mбccф,
Luca vа Gioan) đểu nhấn mạnh đến cбi chết của Chъa lа cбi chết mang
ơn cứu độ. Đу lа cбi chết vм yкu thương, một tмnh yкu thương cho đến
cщng. Trкn thập giб, vаo giờ phъt hấp hối, Chъa Giкsu vẫn cầu nguyện
cщng Đức Chъa Cha trong tвm tмnh phу thбc của người con thảo. Người
cũng nghĩ đến những người thвn, vа phу thбc thвn mẫu của Người lа
Đức Maria cho mфn đệ yкu dấu lа Gioan, cщng trao gửi фng cho Đức Mẹ.
Cử chỉ nаy, vừa diễn tả mối quan tвm, vừa diễn tả “tмnh người” mа
Đức Giкsu thể hiện trong những giвy phъt cuối đời. Cбi chết của Chъa
được diễn tả như một cбi “chết đẹp”. Đу cũng lа tмnh yкu ở mức cao
cả nhất, như Chъa đг nуi: <em style="outline: 0px; font-size: 16px; vertical-align: baseline; border: 0px none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; background:">“Khфng
cу tмnh yкu nаo lớn hơn tмnh yкu của người hiến mạng sống vм người
mмnh yкu”</em>. Cбi chết của Chъa Giкsu trкn thập giб lа cбi chết tự
nguyện, như một hy lễ dвng hiến, xin ơn cứu độ cho nhвn loại. Cбi
chết của Người cũng lа một bằng chứng hщng hồn về tмnh thương của
Thiкn Chъa, Đấng đг mang lấy trкn thвn mмnh tội lỗi thế gian.</span></p>

Nếu những người chết vм dвn vм nước đбng được hậu thế ngưỡng mộ vа
nghiкng mмnh, thм những người chấp nhận sự chết vм đức tin cтn đбng

của người đời khфng khiến họ lung lay. Đối với họ, trung thаnh với
Chъa lа điều quan trọng nhất. Họ sẵn sаng hy sinh mọi sự, vм họ đг
chọn Chъa lаm gia nghiệp vа lа đнch điểm tối thượng cho đời mмnh.
Trong số khoảng 130 ngаn tнn hữu Việt Nam đг chấp nhận đổ mбu đаo
lаm chứng cho Chъa, cу 117 vị đг được phong hiển thбnh vа một vị đг
được phong chвn phước. Cũng như Giбo Hội trong những thế kỷ đầu,
được xвy nền từ đau thương khổ hмnh của cбc vị Tử đạo giбo đoаn
Rфma, Giбo Hội tại Việt Nam đг sinh ra vа lớn lкn từ những đau
thương của cбc thбnh Tử đạo. <em style="outline: 0px; font-size: 16px; vertical-align: baseline; border: 0px none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; background:">“Mбu
tử đạo lа hạt giống sinh ra cбc tнn hữu”</em> (Văn hаo Tertulianф).
Cộng đoаn cфng giбo Việt Nam lớn mạnh vа sinh động như ngаy hфm nay,
lа nhờ mбu của cбc thбnh Tử đạo.</span></p>

Nếu cбc thбnh Tử đạo đг “chết đẹp”, thм trước đу, cбc ngаi đг sống
đẹp. Cбc thбnh Tử đạo lа ai? đу lа những vị giбm mục, linh mục, tu
sĩ. Đу cũng lа những người nфng dвn chất phбc quanh năm chвn lấm tay
bщn. Đу lа những người cha người mẹ tần tảo sớm hфm để nuфi dạy con
cбi. Khi cuộc bбch hại khủng khiếp xảy đến theo lệnh của triều đмnh,
những con người bмnh dị ấy bỗng trở nкn những chiến sĩ đức tin. Ta
hгy nghe cвu trả lời rất đơn sơ mа sвu sắc của thбnh Giuse Lк Đăng
Thi, Cai đội (1825-1860). Khi nghe những lời cбc quan khuyкn bỏ đạo,

khфng chống lại vua, tфi vẫn kнnh trọng vua vа triều đмnh. Nhưng

vвng lời Thiкn Chъa trước hết vа trкn hết. Như vậy, tфi khфng thất
trung thất hiếu với vua”</em> (Trнch sбch “Hạnh tнch cбc Thбnh Tử
đạo Việt Nam”, Lm Nguyễn Đức Việt Chвu, tr. 380). Những người бc cảm
với Giбo Hội thường cho rằng, cбc vị tử đạo lа những người chống lại
triều đмnh hoặc phản bội quк hương để đi theo người ngoại quốc.
Khфng phải như vậy, cбc ngаi lа những người yкu quк hương dвn tộc,
luфn mong muốn những điều tốt đẹp cho đồng bаo. Cбc ngаi cũng lа
những người luфn trung hiếu với vua. Tuy vậy, trước sự chọn lựa giữa
việc tuвn giữ lệnh truyền của vua vа việc trung thаnh với Chъa, cбc
ngаi đг chọn Chъa lа Vua Muфn Đời. Cбc tфng đồ ngаy xưa cũng đг chọn
lựa như thế, khi cбc фng khẳng định: <em style="outline: 0px; font-size: 16px; vertical-align: baseline; border: 0px none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; background:">“Phải
vвng lời Thiкn Chъa hơn lа vвng lời người phаm”</em> (Cv 5,29). Lời
quả quyết của Thбnh Giuse Lк Đăng Thi trкn đвy đг chứng minh, cбc
thбnh Tử đạo lа người đг sống đẹp khфng chỉ với gia đмnh, lаng xуm,
mа cтn đối với xг hội, với guồng mбy lгnh đạo dвn sự.</span></p>

Sống đẹp, chết đẹp, đу lа lэ tưởng của người Kitф hữu. Chъa Giкsu đг
lаm gương cho chъng ta qua sự sống cũng như cбi chết của Người.
Người đг đуn nhận cбi chết trong tвm tмnh vвng phục vа yкu mến. Cбc
Thбnh Tử đạo cũng đг tiếp tục lаm chứng cho tмnh thương của Chъa.
Mừng kнnh cбc Thбnh Tử đạo, chъng ta dвng lкn cбc ngаi tвm tмnh hiếu
thảo, đồng thời xin cбc ngаi giъp chъng ta trкn những bước đường
dương thế, can đảm trung tнn lаm chứng cho Sự thật. Đу chнnh lа “ơn
tử đạo” trong cuộc sống hфm nay, vа cũng lа bảo đảm cho chъng ta một
cбi “chết đẹp”, khi chъng ta kết thъc cuộc đời.</span></p>
