Bài Tin Mừng hôm nay nói đến lời tuyên xưng đức tin căn bản của thánh
Phêrô và cũng là lời tuyên xưng của Hội Thánh Chúa Kitô qua mọi thời
đại cho đến muôn đời. Lời tuyên xưng “THẦY LÀ ĐỨC KITÔ, CON THIÊN CHÚA
HẰNG SỐNG” được cả ba Tin Mừng Nhất Lãm tường thuật (Mt 16,13-20 // Mc
8,27-30 // Lc 9,18-21) và đoạn Tin Mừng này cũng được kể là đọc nhiều
nhất trong một năm Phụng Vụ (ít nhất là 6 lần). Điều đó cho thấy tầm
quan trọng của Lời Tuyên Xưng Đức Tin phải được mọi Kitô hữu ý thức và

Thánh Matthêu kể lại việc Chúa Giêsu trao quyền mục tử tối cao cho thánh
Phêrô để chăn dắt đoàn chiên - lãnh đạo Giáo Hội hoàn vũ - sau khi nghe
lời tuyên xưng thật đúng đắn của thánh nhân. Thật vậy, trước khi trao
quyền cho Phêrô, Chúa Giêsu cần một lời tuyên xưng đúng đắn về bản tính
của Người, câu hỏi thật rõ ràng dành cho “người ngoài” và “người môn

Niềm tin vào Đức Kitô, Con Thiên Chúa mà thánh Phêrô là người đầu tiên
trong các tông đồ lên tiếng công bố, là một mặc khải và là ơn Thiên Chúa
ban cho. Niềm tin này không phải do sức phàm nhân mà có được (trong
tiếng Híp-ri dùng cụm từ “xác thịt” và “khí huyết”), nghĩa là, không
phải do một xác tín thuần túy từ suy tư hay một tình cảm gắn bó cá nhân
với con người Giêsu mà biết được, nhưng là do Thiên Chúa Cha mặc khải.</span></p>

Tin Mừng thuật lại những ghi nhận của những người Do-thái về Chúa Giêsu
thật ra không phải là sai, nhưng chưa đủ, mà chỉ nói lên được một khía

Đấy cũng là những cái nhìn khiếm diện từ một số tôn giáo (Do-thái
giáo và Hồi giáo chỉ xem Đức Giêsu như là một tiên tri, Cao Đài xem Đức
Giêsu chỉ là một giáo chủ phổ độ ở Tây Phương… ), hoặc như trong lịch sử
đã xảy ra nhiều lạc giáo (đã sai lạc về bản tính hay ngôi vị của Chúa
Giêsu như Ario hay Nestorio…).</span></p>

Còn trong bài Tin Mừng hôm nay, có thể thánh Phêrô lúc này chưa hiểu
hoàn toàn về con người và sứ vụ của Chúa Giêsu, nhưng do mặc khải của
Chúa Cha mà thánh Phêrô đã tuyên xưng Đức Giêsu là Con Thiên Chúa. Vâng,
“Con Thiên Chúa” này bao gồm trọn vẹn mọi hình ảnh trên, là một Đức
Giê-su Ki-tô Tử Nạn và Phục Sinh để cứu độ con người.</span></p>

Tuyên xưng vào Đức Ki-tô, Con Thiên Chúa Hằng Sống là tuyên xưng một Đức
Giêsu là Chúa, nghĩa là Đức Giêsu quyền phép chữa lành bệnh tật và uy
thế trước thế quyền (Êlia), một Chúa Giêsu đau khổ nơi người bất hạnh
(Giêrêmia), một Đức Giêsu rao giảng ơn sám hối (Gioan Tiền Hô), một Đức
Giêsu chứng nhân và rao giảng (các ngôn sứ)…</span></p>

Như vậy, tính “Tông Truyền” của mọi sự tông truyền chính là Giáo Hội
phải tuyên xưng và sống điều mà thánh Phê-rô đã tuyên xưng vào một Đức
Ki-tô Con Thiên Chúa hằng sống đã tử nạn và phục sinh. Chỉ như vậy, Giáo
Hội mới tồn tại và bền vững.</span></p>

Theo truyền thống Cựu Ước, khi Thiên Chúa đặt tên cho ai là để chuẩn bị
cho họ một sứ vụ, thì đây, Chúa Giêsu ngay từ đầu đã đổi tên Simon thành
Phêrô, nghĩa là đá. Đá ở đây không phải vô tri vô giác, nhưng nói lên

Chúa Giêsu đã từng ví dụ về sự khôn ngoan hay khờ dại giống như người
xây nhà mình trên đá hay trên cát. Nhà xây trên đá thì dù mưa sa nước
chảy, gió thổi bão lay cũng không sao. Đó là hình ảnh Giáo Hội Chúa Kitô
trải qua bao thế kỷ, gặp bao nhiêu thử thách, yếu đuối, bách hại và phải
đương đầu với bao thể chế, lý thuyết, ý thức hệ, ly lạc giáo, sự tục
hoá… thì trên nền đá Phêrô, Giáo Hội vẫn kiên cường bảo vệ đức tin và
chuẩn mực đạo lý Kitô giáo cho mọi dân tộc.</span></p>

Chìa khóa, theo Thánh Kinh, là biểu tượng của sự tin tưởng, uy quyền, và
trách nhiệm. Chúa đã tin tưởng thánh Phêrô, trao cho người quyền hành và
trách nhiệm để hướng dẫn Giáo Hội trên trần gian: "Thầy sẽ trao cho con
chìa khóa nước Trời; sự gì con cầm buộc dưới đất, trên trời cũng cầm
buộc; và sự gì con cởi mở dưới đất, trên trời cũng cởi mở.". Đây là một
quyền hành thật cả thể. Vì bản chất của quyền hành ở đây theo từ ngữ
chuyên biệt trong tiếng Híp-ri phân định điều gì được phép và không được
phép, điều chỉ đến việc cầm buộc ma quỉ trong khi trừ quỉ, trong việc
hành luật liên quan đến vạ tuyệt thông và trong những vấn đề phán quyết
đức tin và luân lý. </span></p>

Việc Chúa Giêsu trao chìa khoá Nước Trời cho thánh Phêrô cũng được hiểu
như là biểu tượng Giáo Hội gìn giữ kho tàng ơn thánh và ơn cứu độ được
đem đến qua Giáo Hội. Quyền này chỉ có nơi Chúa Giêsu, nhưng Người đã
ban lại cho Giáo Hội qua quyền bính của vị đại diện Người. Ơn Cứu Độ từ
Đức Kitô qua Giáo Hội của Người, bởi chỉ có Giáo Hội mới được mặc khải
tròn đầy của Chúa Cha về Chúa Kitô (x.Mt 16,17), và chỉ có Giáo Hội mới
nhận biết đúng đắn nhất về Chúa Kitô: “Thầy là Đức Kitô Con Thiên Chúa
hằng sống” (Mt 16,16). </span></p>

Theo nghĩa rộng, chìa khóa Nước Trời còn là hạt giống đức tin từ ngày
lãnh nhận làn nước Bí Tích Rửa Tội giúp mọi Kitô hữu mở cửa bước vào kho
tàng ân đức của Chúa nơi các bí tích. Sự đóng hay mở phụ thuộc vào việc
bác ái hay khép kín của lòng người.</span></p>

Từ cổ đến kim, nhiều lạc giáo đã tìm cách chối bỏ năng quyền này của
Giáo Hội và bất phục với các đấng kế vị thánh Phê-rô, nghĩa là họ chối
bỏ lời Chúa Giê-su dạy trong Tin Mừng hôm nay. Quá khứ bao nhiêu lạc
giáo đã tự suy tàn, nhưng hiện tại đang manh nha có nhiều thứ lạc giáo
mới, chung quy lại chúng đều truyền bá việc bất phục Đức Thánh Cha và
các mục tử trong Giáo Hội, chúng đã lập ra những website và group
facebook để lôi kéo các thành viên. Điều đáng tiếc là nhiều thành viên
Công Giáo đã bị chúng mê hoặc. Chính vì thế, qua bài Tin Mừng hôm nay,
chúng ta cùng ý thức mình và cầu nguyện cho những ai lầm lạc biết hoán
cải.</span></p>

Giáo Hội trên nền đá là thánh Phêrô, Chúa cũng trao cho các đấng kế vị
thánh Phêrô quyền bảo vệ đức tin, mối dây hiệp nhất và hướng dẫn đoàn
chiên Chúa. Xin cho mọi người chúng con luôn biết quy phục Đức Thánh
Cha, nhiệt thành xây dựng và làm phát triển Giáo Hội bằng đời lời tuyên
xưng đức tin sống động qua đời sống chứng nhân theo phận vụ của mình, để
Nước Chúa ngày một lan rộng khắp nơi. Amen.</em></span></p>
