Chết là số phận của con người vì Thiên Chúa đã nói với ông Adong :”<i>Ngươi
sẽ phải đổ mồ hội trán mới có bánh ăn, cho đến khi trở về với đất, vì từ
đất, ngươi được lấy ra. Ngươi là bụi đất, và sẽ trở về với bụi đất” (St
4,19).</i> Phải trở về cùng bụi đất tức là phải chết đi. Không ai có thể
tránh được công lệ này. Vì thế, Chúa Giêsu nhắc nhở cho chúng ta là phải
luôn luôn sẵn sàng cho giờ từ giã cõi đời này để buớc vào sự sống đời sau.</span></p>

Hình ảnh ngườiø đầy tớ cầm đèn trong tay đợi chủ đi ăn cưới về có vẻ hơi xa
lạ với chúng ta, nhưng đối với người Do thái thì rất quen thuộc. Người Do
thái có thói quen ăn tiệc cưới vào ban đêm và tiệc tan vào bất cứ lúc nào,
nên ông chủ cũng trở về bất cứ lúc nào, người đầy tớ luôn phải ăn mặc gọn
gàng, cầm đèn sáng trong tay để đón chủ về. Nếu khi ông chủ trở về mà thấy
người đầy tớ đang tỉnh thức sẵn sàng chờ ông, mở cửa và soi đèn cho ông vào,
thì ông sẽ thưởng cho. Ngược lại, người đầy tớ nào mà mê ăn mê ngủ không sẵn
sàng chờ đợi chủ về thì ông sẽ ra hình phạt cho.</span></p>

đợi chủ về</i></b> :</span></p>

đầu tiên là đợi chờ ngày Chúa Giêsu lại đến; </span></p>

thứ hai là ngày chết của mỗi người; </span></p>

Qua bài Tin mừng này, Chúa Giêsu dạy chúng ta phải tỉnh thức và sẵn sàng
trông chờ Chúa đến. <b><i>Tỉnh thức</i></b> bằng cách luôn sống trong ơn
Chúa. Muốn vậy, phải tránh tội và chừa cải tội lỗi. <b><i>Sẵn sàng</i></b>
bằng cách chăm lo làm những việc lành phúc đức để chuẩn bị cho cuộc sống mai
hậu.</span></p>

NHỮNG AI PHẢI TỈNH THỨC VÀ SẴN SÀNG ?</span></i></b></p>

<b><i>1. <u>Cho mọi tin hữu</u>.</i></b></span></p>

Chúa nhắc nhở mọi người phải tỉnh thức và sẵn sàng chờ đợi Ngài đến vì ai
trong chúng ta cũng phải một lần ra đi khỏi đời này và cuộc ra đi này có
liên hệ trực tiếp đến số phận của từng người. Ai không chuẩn bị cho cuộc
hành trình này là người khờ dại.</span></p>

“<i>Hãy thắt lưng</i>” là lối ăn mặc của người đang làm việc theo phong tục
người Do thái. Theo nghĩa bóng là phải sẵn sàng, tức là phải lọai bỏ tất cả
cản trở sức sống thiêng liêng của ta : như các đem mê theo dục vọng bất
chính. Về vấn đề này thánh Phaolô cũng khuyên chúng ta :”<i>Phải tỉnh thức
và tiết độ” (1Pr 5,8).</i></span></p>

<b><i>2. <u>Cho tất cả mọi người</u>.</i></b></span></p>

Khẩu hiệu “<b><i>Sẵng Sàng</i></b>” được lòai người luôn trân trọng vì nó
cần thiết cho đời sống thực tế, giúp cho người ta thành công. Đây là kinh
nghiệm của bao đời được kết tinh lại mà không ai có thể bác bỏ.</span></p>

a) Ai đã có dịp đi sinh họat hướng đạo, khẩu hiệu “<b>sẵn sàng</b>” phải
luôn được thực hiện. Chính nhờ đó mà các hướng đạo sinh có tinh thần tháo
vát, lanh lẹ, bình tĩnh đối phó với bất cứ tình huống nào xẩy ra.</span></p>

b) Đại tướng <b>Marc Arthur</b>, một vị tướng lừng danh của Mỹ, sau đệ nhị
thế chiến có nói <i>:”Lịch sử trong những thảm bại chiến tranh có thể tóm
gọn trong hai chữ “QUÁ MUỘN”. Quá muộn vì chưa sẵn sàng, quá muộn vì chưa
chuẩn bị đủ”.</i> Trong chiến tranh du kích, yếu tố sẵn sàng cần được chú
trọng để đối phó với tình hình, nếu sơ hở một chút là bị tiêu diệt.</span></p>

c) <b>Jules César</b>, một hòang đế và một tướng tài của đế quốc Rôma, đã để
lại một câu nói bất hủ làm kim chỉ nam cho những nhà chiến lược ngày nay
không bao giờ được bỏ qua, đó là :”<i>Si vis pacem, para bellum</i>” : nếu
anh muốn hòa bình, phải chuẩn bị chiến tranh.</span></p>

bậc tiền bối Đông phương của chúng ta không thiếu kinh nghiệm vấn đề này.
Các vị đó đã khuyên bảo các nhà cầm quyềân mọi đời phải thực hiện câu châm
ngôn :”<b><i>Bình thời luyện</i></b> <b><i>võ, lọan thế độc thư</i></b>” :
thời bình thì phải lo luyện võ, thời lọan thì phải đọc sách. Tại sao lại có
sự trái ngược như vậy ? Bởi vì các vị đó đã có cái nhìn xa : trong thời
bình đừng có vùi mình vào sự hưởng thụ xa hoa, mà phải luyện tập để khi
chiến tranh xẩy ra thì sẵn sàng đối phó.</span></p>

e) Người <b>thành Spatres</b> cổ xưa đã bắt mọi thanh niên phải sống khắc
khổ tập luyện để trở thành những chiến binh dũng cảm và đầy kinh nghiệm, nên
họ đã có một quân đội hùng mạnh bách chiến bách thắng, khác với dân thành
Athènes. Còn trong thời lọan thì phải nhìn tới thời hậu chiến, khi chiến
tranh chấm dứt, hòa bình trở lại thì đã có sẵn kế sách cho việc tái thiết,
xây dựng đât nước.</span></p>

Qua bài Tin mừng này, chúng ta hãy rút ra cho mình một bài học thực hành :
đừng để đến tuổi già mới sám hối, đừng để đến ngày chết mới ăn năn trở về
vì đã “quá muộn”. Kinh nghiệm cho hay : ít người hối cải vào giờ chết vì,
theo Kinh Thánh, “Trẻ đi lối nào thì già cũng đi lối đó”, cũng như người ta
cũng thường nói :”<i>Sống sao thác vậy</i>”.</span></p>

Một nhà văn kể câu chuyện giả tưởng : Satan họp hội nghị thảo luận về phương
thức chiếm đọat các linh hồn. Nhiều ý kiến các cấp quỉ được phát biểu. Nhưng
ý kiến được hội nghị tán đồng là của một quỉ già đầy kinh nghiệm. Đó là rỉ
tai câu này :”<i>Gấp gì, còn kịp chán, để gần chết rồi hãy ăn năn trở lại,
hãy vui sống đã”.</i></span></p>

Bao nhiêu linh hồn đã hư mất vì ngủ say trong danh vọng, tiền tài, sắc dục
mà quên đi tinh thần tỉnh thức và sẵn sàng chờ đợi Chúa đến. Hãy thực hiện
câu ngạn ngữ tuyệt vời :<b><i>Cẩn tắc vô ưu” </i></b>: cẩn thận đề phòng thì
khỏi phải lo.</span></p>
