Grêgôriô X thiết lập vào thế kỷ 13. Người Công giáo thực hiện
rất nhiều cử chỉ tôn kính trong Thánh lễ, và một trong những cử
chỉ được thực hành rộng rãi trong nhiều thế kỷ - đó là cúi đầu
mỗi khi Danh thánh của Chúa Giêsu được nhắc đến. Ngay cả khi
không được nhấn mạnh nhiều trong vài thập kỷ qua, việc cúi đầu

là một việc khá khó khăn, nên Đức Giáo hoàng Gregorio X đã tìm
kiếm một giải pháp. Ngài viết về giải pháp này cho Dòng Đaminh
vào năm 1274, bày tỏ mong muốn có một số cử chỉ cụ thể được thực
hiện để tôn vinh Thánh danh Giêsu. Phần tông thư dưới đây của

thành lập các Hội đoàn mang Thánh danh Giêsu, cũng như cung hiến
cho Thánh danh Giêsu các bàn thờ trong Thánh đường.</div>
