Thật vậy, Thiên Chúa là tình thương. Người tạo dựng lên con người và vũ
trụ hứu hình này tuyệt đối không vì lợi ích nào riêng của Người mà chỉ
vì Người muốn chia sẻ hạnh phúc của mình cho con cái loài người mà thôi.
Và mặc dù con người đã sa ngã qua sự bất vâng phục của Nguyên Tổ loài
người là Adam và Eva khiến cho <strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">“sự
tội và sự chết đã xâm nhập trần gian”</strong> ( Rm 5: 12), nhưng Thiên

Vì thế, Người đã sai Con Một là Chúa Giê-su Kitô đến trần gian làm Con
Người để hy sinh cứu chuộc cho cả nhân loại đáng phải phạt vì tội
lỗi.Như thế, chính Thiên Chúa đã cứu chuộc loài người nhờ Chúa Kitô , vì
“<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Thiên Chúa Đấng cứu độ chúng</strong> <strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">ta,
Đấng</strong> <strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"> muốn cho mọi
người</strong> <strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">được cứu độ
và nhận biết chân lý</strong>.” ( 1 Tm 2 : 4). Nghĩa là Thiên Chúa không
muốn cho ai phải hư mất đời đời vì phải xa lìa Người là cội nguồn của
mọi vinh phúc, giầu sang và hoan lạc.</span></p>

Tuy nhiên, dù với tình thương và ước muốn quá nhân hậu như vậy cho con
người, Thiên Chúa vẫn cần sự cộng tác của con người vào công nghiệp cứu
chuộc vô giá của Chúa Cứu Thế Giêsu.</span></p>

Lý do là dù cho Chúa Giêsu đã đổ máu mình ra và chết trên thập giá, đã
hòa giải con người với Chúa Cha, và mở đường cho con người được cứu độ
để sống vinh cửu với Chúa trên Nước Trời mai sau, nhưng Chúa đã không
tiêu diệt hết mọi mầm mống của sự tội và không trả lại cho con người
tình trạng “ <strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">ngây thơ, công</strong> <strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">chính
ban đầu</strong>=<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">original
Innocence and Justice</strong>”, một tình trạng ơn phúc mà Adam và Eva
đã được hưởng trước khi phạm tội bất phục tùng Thiên Chúa. Ở tình trạng
ơn phúc này, hai ông bà không thể sa phạm tội vì yếu đuối của bản năng,
mà phạm tội vì đã sử dụng “ <strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">ý
muốn tự do= free will</strong>” mà Thiên Chúa đã ban tặng và tôn trọng
cho con người được tùy ý sử dụng từ trước cho đến nay, và còn mãi về
sau cho đến ngày hết thời gian.</span></p>

Lại nữa, về phần con người, dù được tái sinh qua phép Rửa và trở nên tạo
vật mới, nhưng trong bản tính đã bị băng hoại vì Tội Nguyên Tổ, vẫn còn
những vết thương, khiến con người vẫn hoàn toàn yếu đuối trước mọi cám
dỗ của ma quí và thế gian, vì theo giáo lý của Giáo Hội dạy thì <strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">“</strong> <strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">tuy
nhiên, nơi người đã được rửa tội, một số những hậu quả của tội vẫn tồn
tại, như những đau khổ , bệnh tật , sự chết, hoặc những sự yếu đuối gắn
liền với sự sống như những yếu đuối về tính tình.v.v và nhất là sự hướng
chiều về tội lỗi mà truyền thống gọi là tình dục, và theo ẩn dụ , được
gọi là “lò sinh ra tội=fomes percati” được để lại cho ta phải chiến đấu

Như thế, ngoài trở ngại về bản tính yếu đuối nói trên, con người còn có
tự do để chọn lựa, hoặc chiều theo những khuynh hướng xấu thúc đẩy mà
phạm những tội nặng nhẹ xúc phạm đến Chúa là Đấng trọn tốt trọn lành ,
hoặc chống lại bản năng hay khuynh hướng xấu đó để cộng tác với ơn cứu
độ của Chúa hầu trở nên thánh thiện và được cứu rỗi như lòng Chúa
mong muốn.</span></p>

Nói rõ hơn, ơn cứu độ của Chúa Kitô không biến đổi con người tới mức
không thể phạm tội được nữa, mà chỉ hứa hẹn cho ta được cứu rỗi nếu ta
có thiện chí cộng tác với ơn Chúa để chống lại mọi cám dỗ đến từ ma quỷ
và thế gian là những địch thù luôn khai thác triệt để bản tính yếu đưối
của con người để xúi dục ta phạm tội mất lòng Chúa.</span></p>

Như vậy, nếu con người sử dụng tự do của mình mà làm những sự dữ như oán
thù, giết người, giết thai nhi, gian tham ,bất công bóc lột người khác,
trộm cắp, cờ bạc, dâm ô, ngoại tình, thay vợ đổi chồng …thì chắc
chắn đã quay lưng lại với Chúa và khước từ cộng tác với ơn cứu độ của
Người. Như thế, dù có tuyên xưng ngoài miệng cả trăm ngàn lần là tin có
Thiên Chúa, tin Chúa Kitô là Đấng cứu chuộc, thì cũng vô ích mà thôi.
Đó là lý do tại sao Chúa Giê su đã nói với các môn đệ Người xưa kia như

Làm theo ý muốn của Cha trên Trời có nghĩa là sống theo đường lối của

Như thế ai bước đi theo thế gian , và chiều theo những khuynh hướng xấu
của bản năng để làm những việc mà lương tâm không cho phép như tôn thờ
tiền của và mọi thú vui vô luân vô đạo , gian tham ,độc ác, dâm ô thác
loạn, giết người ,phá thai, bỏ vạ cáo gian..v.v. và không hề biết
ăn năn , chừa bỏ tội lỗi thì Chúa không thể cứu họ được, dù Chúa là
tinh thương và giầu lòng tha thứ.</span></p>

Nghĩa là không được lợi dụng lòng thương xót của Chúa để cứ đi hàng hai
là một mặt mang danh người Kitô hữu, nhưng thực tế lại sống phản
chứng hay mâu thuẫn với niềm tin có Chúa là Đấng chê ghét mọi tội lỗi,
vì tội lỗi là điều xúc phạm nặng nề bản chất yêu thương, công bình và
thánh thiện của Chúa,</span></p>

Chúa Giê su chiu đau khổ và chết thê thảm trên thập giá cũng vì tội lỗi
của con người. Vì thế, muốn được hưởng công ơn cứu chuộc của Chúa, nhất
thiết đòi hỏi những ai có niềm tin Chúa phải quyết tâm xa tránh mọi tội
lỗi với ơn phù trợ của Chúa để xứng đáng được cứu độ và sống hạnh phúc
với Chúa trên Nước Trời mai sau</span></p>

Nếu không quyết tâm đi qua con đường hẹp này , mà cứ thích đi trên những
con đường rộng rãi thênh thang nơi những kẻ chối Chúa và đường lối của
Người đang hiên ngang đi trên đó , thì công nhiệp cứu chuộc của Chúa
Kitô sẽ trở nên vô ích cho họ, vì họ đã và đang không tỏ thiện chí muốn
sống theo đường lối của Chúa, hoàn toàn khác xa đường lối của thế gian
và ma quỉ, kẻ thù của chúng ta, ví được như sư tử đói ngày đêm rình rập
để cướp linh hồn chúng ta , như Thánh Phê rô đã cảnh cáo ( 1 Pr 5: 8)</span></p>

Một lần nưa, nếu ai nghĩ rằng Thiên Chúa quá nhân từ , công nghiệp cứu
chuộc của Chúa Kitô là đủ đảm bảo cho phần rỗi của mình, nhưng không
cộng tác gì với ơn Chúa để từ bỏ mọi quyến rũ của trần gian và xa tránh
mọi tội lỗi, thì hãy nghe lại lời Chúa Giêsu đã nói với một số người
đến hỏi Chúa xem có phải những người bị Tổng Trấn Phi-la-tô giết chết,
cũng như mười tám người bị thác Si-lô-ê đổ xuống đè chết có phải họ là
những người tội lỗi hơn mọi người khác hay không , Chúa đã trả lời như

Như thế rõ ràng cho thấy là dù Thiên Chúa là tình thương, chậm bất bình
và hay tha thứ, và dù cho công nghiệp cứu chuộc của Chúa Kitô là quá đủ
cho ta được cứu rỗi, nhưng nếu ta không làm gì về phần mình –hay tệ hại
hơn nữa- là cứ phạm tội, cứ chiều theo bản năng và cám dỗ của ma quỷ để
làm những sự dữ như giết người, oán thù, nghen nghét, dâm ô thác oạn và
dửng dưng trước sự đau khổ nghèo đói của anh chị em kém may mắn hơn
mình, thì chắc chắn Chúa không thể cứu ai có lối sống như vậy. Nói khác
đi, nếu không có công nghiệp cứu chuộc của Chúa Kitô, thì không ai có
thể làm gì để được cứu rỗi. Nhưng nếu ỷ vào công nghiệp này và lợi dụng
lòng thương xót của Chúa để sống theo văn hóa của sự chết, nhập cuộc
với những kẻ đang ngụp lặn trong làn sóng tục hóa, vô luân vô đạo như
thực trạng của thế giới tục hóa ngày nay, thì công nghiệp cứu chuộc
của Chúa Kitô sẽ ra vô ích cho những người đó. Chắc chắn như vậy.</span></p>

Tóm lại, công nghiệp cứu chuộc vô giá của Chúa Kitô và tình thương vô
biên của Thiên Chúa được tạm ví như dòng nước cuồn cuộn chảy bên bờ
suối . Nhưng người khát nước nằm bên bờ suối vẫn chết khát như thường,
nếu không tự cúi xuống mà múc nước lên để uống , vì nước không có chức
năng phải nhẩy vọt lên từ dòng nước để chảy vào miệng kẻ khát đang nằm
bên bờ suối.</span></p>

Nếu không có dòng nước kia, thì người ta sẽ chết khát vì không thể
tìm đâu ra nước mà uống. Vậy phải có nước trong thiên nhiên đọng
trong các sông ngòi ao hồ do mưa từ trời cao tuôn xuống và đọng lại ở
đây cho con người hưởng dùng miễn phí. Nhưng người ta phải đi tìm và
múc nước lên từ sông ngòi hay khe suối mà uống , vì nước kia không bao
giờ tự nhẩy lên khỏi dòng nước mà chảy vào miệng kẻ khát nước như đã
nói ở trên.</span></p>

Vậy , cúi xuống để múc nước lên mà uống cho khỏi chết khát, chính là nỗ
lực của con người phải cộng tác với ơn Chúa để được cứu độ và sống hạnh
phúc vĩnh cửu với Chúa trên Nước Trời. Nếu không có nỗ lực này thì Chúa
không thể cứu ai được vì Người còn phải tôn trọng ý muốn tự do ( free
will) của mỗi người chúng ta như đã nói ở trên.</span></p>
