mọi khả năng là có, nhưng với sự cho phép đặc biệt. Vào cuối thập niên
1950 và đầu thập niên 1960, Bộ Thánh Vụ (nay là Thánh Bộ Giáo Lý Đức
Tin) cấp phép một số người Công giáo để có thể rước lễ, đặc biệt là Máu
Thánh, thông qua một ống dạ dày (Canon Law Digest 5, trang 434, 6, trang
562-565). Một đề nghị tương tự đối với việc Rước lễ thông qua một ống
mũi đã bị từ chối.<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">

Các phép này được ban trước khi xuất bản Bộ Giáo luật hiện hành, vốn
trao năng quyền rộng hơn cho các Giám mục. Do đó một số chuyên viên giáo
luật lập luận rằng hiện nay Giám mục có quyền cấp phép như thế, dựa vào
sự hiểu biết về việc thực hành đã được thiết lập của Tòa Thánh.<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">

Đồng thời, thật là tốt nếu Văn phòng Tòa Giám mục trình bày trường hợp
tham khảo này với Thánh Bộ Phụng tự và Kỷ luật Bí tích. Bằng cách này,
các giám chức có thể xác định rõ ràng hơn các khía cạnh thực tế của việc
cho rước lễ theo các điều kiện đặc biệt, để bảo đảm sự tôn trọng thích
