Hội Nghị các Giám Mục ( synod of bishops) về Gia đình mới đây tại Rôma,
tuy chưa kết thúc bằng một quyết định chung cuộc nào , nhưng chắc chắn
đã không đề nghị lên Đức Thánh Cha một thay đổi nào về mục đích của
hôn nhân vốn đã được thi hành từ bao thế kỷ nay. Nghĩa là các giám mục
sẽ không đề nghị những gì trái ngược với giáo lý , tín lý của Hội Thánh
về bí tích hôn phối ,mà chỉ đưa ra những đề nghị nhằm tái xác định lại
hay làm sáng tỏ thêm giáo huấn của Giáo Hội về định chế hôn nhân giữa
một người nam và một người nữ để Đức Thánh Cha duyệt xét hầu đi đến
chung cuộc trong lần Hội Nghị kế tiếp vào tháng 10 năm 2015. Như thế,
chúng ta chưa thể kết luận gì về Hội Nghị các Giám mục thế giới vừa qua
về gia đình.</span></p>

Như thế, tuyệt đối không có giáo lý hay giáo luật nào cho phép hôn nhân
đồng tính ( same sex marriage) giữa hai người nam hay hai người nữ mà
một số quốc gia –trong đó có Hoa Kỳ- đang cho phép loại hôn nhân
này.Đâylà một sự suy thoái trầm trọng về luân lý và mục đích của hôn
nhân, một định chế đã có từ lâu trong xã hội con người thuộc mọi nền văn
hóa.Định chế đó chỉ nhìn nhận hôn nhân giữa một người nam và một người
nữ mà thôi.</span></p>

Nhưng nay vì đạo đức suy đồi , hậu quả của trào lưu tục hóa (
vulgarism) đang bành trướng ở khắp nơi, mà người ta muốn định nghĩa lại
hôn nhân để công nhận “ hôn nhân giữa hai người đồng tính” ( homosexual,
lesbian), một đổ vỡ to lớn về mục đích của hôn nhân mà Thiên Chúa đã
thiết lập từ đầu khi tạo dựng nên con người có nam có nữ và truyền cho

Liên quan đến những người “ đồng tính” Giáo Hội không kỳ thị và loại bỏ
họ trong mục đích hiệp thông tôn thờ Thiên Chúa và tuyên xưng đức tin
vào Chúa Cứu Thế Giêsu. Nhưng chắc chắn Giáo Hội cũng sẽ không bao
giờ cho phép hay công nhận hôn nhân đồng tính giữa hai người nam hoặc
hai người nữ như một số quốc gia đang làm vì áp lực chính trị để
chiều theo thị hiếu của những người đồng tính muốn hợp thức hóa hôn
nhân của họ.Làm như thế, họ đang phá đổ mục đich của hôn nhân và tước bỏ
quyền có cha , mẹ , có ông bà nội ngoại của con cháu. Lại nữa, họ cũng
tạo gương xấu ( scandal) cho giới trẻ khi thấy hai người nam hoặc hai
người nữ công khai sống chung với nhau như vợ chồng.</span></p>

Về mặt tinh thần, những người đồng tính có thể đến nhà thờ cầu nguyện
chung với mọi tín hữu, nhưng không thể lãnh nhận các bí tích Thánh Thể
và hòa giải được vì lối sồng của họ ( sống chung như vợ chồng) không
được Giáo Hội nhìn nhận như những cặp vợ chồng đã thành hôn qua bí tích
hôn phối. Và ngay cả những cặp vợ chồng đã kết hôn hợp pháp trong Giáo
Hội, nhưng nay đã ly dị ngoài tòa dân sự mà chưa được tòa án hôn phối
của giáo phận tháo gỡ hôn phối cũ mà lại sống chung với người khác như
vợ chồng, thì cũng tạm thời không được lãnh nhận hai bí tích trên.</span></p>

Tóm lại, dù Giáo Hội chưa chính thức lên tiếng về vấn đề hôn nhân của
