Ghế chủ tọa ngаy xưa chнnh lа chỗ ngồi hay ngai tтa của vị giбm mục địa

Đến thế kỷ thứ IV, chiếc ghế nаy mới trở nкn như một ngai tтa khi cбc
giбm mục bắt đầu trở thаnh như những viкn chức nhа nước với đẳng cấp
nghị viện. Trong khi cử hаnh Phụng vụ Lời Chъa, cộng đoаn tụ họp chung
quanh ngai tтa cбc Sбch Thбnh, hay chung quanh chỗ liкn quan đến ngai
tтa nаy, tức lа ghế giбm mục, được triển khai từ tтa Mфsк. Trong thбnh
đường Tвy phương, ghế giбm mục thường đặt trкn bục cao phнa sau bаn thờ
để giбm mục cу thể nhмn thấy toаn thể cộng đoаn tнn hữu vа mọi người
cũng cу thể nghe được tiếng nуi của ngаi. Hai bкn ghế giбm mục, cу hai
chiếc ghế dаi hмnh vтng cung dаnh cho cбc linh mục, cбc phу tế vа cбc
thừa tбc viкn khбc khфng cу ghế dаnh riкng. Việc bố trн như thế vẫn duy
trм cho mгi đến thế kỷ XIV.</span></p>

Trong một số trường hợp, Hội Thбnh bкn Đфng phương cу những sбng kiến
độc đбo liкn quan đến cбch bố trн thбnh đường. Chẳng hạn trong thбnh
đường thuộc giбo phбi Nestфriф, cу hai cбi bục cao: một bục dаnh để kк
bаn thờ, cтn một cбi bục khбc đặt giữa thбnh đường, trкn đу cу ghế dаnh
cho giбm mục vа cбc thừa tбc viкn. Sau phần Phụng vụ Lời Chъa, Đức Giбm
mục vа cбc thừa tбc viкn sẽ rời ghế của mмnh. Họ tiến tới bаn thờ để bắt
đầu phần Phụng vụ Thбnh Thể.</span></p>

Đến thế kỷ thứ XIV, trong cбc thбnh đường Tвy phương, bаn thờ được dời
vаo sбt tường. Bаn thờ thường cу cбi giб phнa trước mа khung sườn của
cбi giб nаy sбt với bức tường dаnh cho cбc tranh ảnh thбnh nкn vị trн
của chiếc ghế giбm mục khфng thể ở phнa đầu cung thбnh được nữa. Thế lа
ghế giбm mục vа chủ tế phải chuyển dời sang một bкn cung thбnh, chнnh
xбc lа phнa Tin Mừng, tức phнa bкn trбi của bаn thờ khi nhмn từ trкn bаn
thờ xuống lтng nhа thờ. Trong cung thбnh cũng cу cбc hаng ghế dаnh cho
hаng giбo sĩ, kinh sĩ, đan sĩ vа tu sĩ. Vм thế, dвn chъng ngаy cаng lщi
lại phнa cuối thбnh đường. Kết quả lа đфi khi những người tham dự khфng
cтn nhмn thấy bаn thờ nữa bởi lẽ bаn thờ bị che khuất bởi cбc bức tường
hay vбch ngăn trang trн. Dвn chъng bắt đầu thнch tập trung chъ э vаo
những bаn thờ vа nhа nguyện phụ cу mặt trong thбnh đường hơn lа bаn thờ

Ngаy nay, vị trн của chiếc ghế giбm mục vẫn ở đу, tức lа ở về một bкn
của cung thбnh, nếu như kiến trъc của tтa nhа thờ khфng cho phйp bố trн
ghế giбm mục trở lại vị trн thнch hợp thuở ban đầu, tức lа phнa chуp đầu

Vị tư tế lа mục tử của Dвn Chъa. Ghế của ngаi trong nhа thờ phản бnh
chức năng chủ tọa hơn lа quyền hаnh của người ngồi ở đу. Ghế nаy cу cщng

Trong phụng vụ, ghế chủ tọa lа dấu hiệu chỉ ra chức vụ của vị tư tế lа
chủ tọa cộng đoаn vа điều khiển kinh nguyện (QCSL 310; XD 63). Theo Sбch
Cбc Phйp số 881, ghế chủ tọa lа một biểu tượng mа tại nơi nаy, vị chủ tế
sẽ thực hiện chức năng chủ tọa cộng đoаn vа hướng dẫn kinh nguyện của
cộng đoаn phụng vụ. Vai trт của vị chủ sự lа quan trọng vа lа trọng tвm
trong bất cứ nghi thức phụng vụ nаo, cho nкn ghế chủ tọa nуi lкn phẩm
giб của ngаi xйt như lа người chủ tọa cộng đoаn nhвn danh Chъa Kitф (XD

Э nghĩa thần học của ghế chủ tọa [xйt như lа một vị trн quan trọng mа từ
đу vị tư tế chủ tọa thбnh lễ] bắt nguồn từ <em style="outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; border: 0px none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">cathedra</em> hay <em style="outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; border: 0px none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">ghế
của Đức Giбm mục </em>trong giбo phận của ngаi. Chiếc ghế nаy được đặt
trong ngфi nhа thờ chнnh (chбnh tтa) của giбo phận. Ghế chủ tọa, theo
phụng vụ Rфma, khфng chỉ lа một chiếc ghế vật chất hay lа một đối tượng
vật chất bкn trong thбnh đường, mа cтn lа biểu tượng vừa cho quyền bнnh
của Đức Giбm mục, vừa cho mối hiệp thфng của Đức Giбm mục với Đức Giбo
Hoаng vа cбc Đức Giбm mục khбc trкn toаn thế giới.<sup style="outline: 0px; color: gray; border: 0px none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">2</sup>Đвy
lа lэ do phбt sinh ra lễ kнnh ngai tтa thбnh Phкrф hay lập Tфng tтa
thбnh Phкrф, vị Giбo Hoаng vа Giбm mục tiкn khởi, được mừng vаo ngаy 22
thбng Hai. Vаo thời kỳ hậu Cфng đồng Vatican II, ghế của giбm mục được
hiểu lа ghế của người chủ trм vа điều hаnh đời sống phụng vụ cũng như lа
thầy dạy của giбo phận tại địa phương;<sup style="outline: 0px; color: gray; border: 0px none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">3</sup> nу

Như vậy, từ ghế giбm mục mа ghế chủ tọa trong mỗi nhа thờ giбo xứ cу
được э nghĩa vа tầm quan trọng của nу. Bởi vм Đức Giбm mục khфng thể cу
mặt ở khắp nơi trong giбo phận của mмnh để chủ tọa trкn mọi thаnh viкn
trong tất cả những giờ phụng vụ, cho nкn mới phвn thаnh cбc giбo xứ, vа
trong mỗi giбo xứ đều cу vị mục tử thế vаo vị trн của Đức Giбm mục. Vм
lэ do nаy, khi cung hiến thбnh đường mới, thфng thường, chнnh Đức Giбm
mục giбo phận sẽ ngồi vаo ghế chủ tọa. Ngаi lа mục tử vа thầy dạy cao
nhất trong nhа thờ giбo phận của mмnh, nкn ngаi lа người đầu tiкn ngồi
vаo ghế mа trong tương lai, chнnh ngаi sẽ dạy đoаn chiкn của mмnh qua
cбc vị mục tử do ngаi bổ nhiệm để coi sуc giбo xứ. Ghế chủ tọa trở
thаnh <em style="outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; border: 0px none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">cathedra</em> tạm
thời cho Đức Giбm mục trong nghi lễ cung hiến thбnh đường. Rồi đвy, ghế
chủ tọa sẽ đại diện cho quyền giảng dạy của Đức Giбm mục khi vị linh mục
chủ tế ngồi vаo đу. Khi Đức Giбm mục viếng thăm giбo xứ vа chủ sự buổi
cử hаnh phụng vụ, ngаi sẽ ngồi lại vаo ghế chủ tọa xйt như lа một ghế
giбm mục tạm thời hay lа sự nối dаi hữu hмnh ghế giбm mục tại nhа thờ

phнa đầu cung thбnh thường khфng thнch hợp lắm. Bởi vм, một mặt, nếu Nhа
tạm được đặt ở trung tвm của cung thбnh phнa sau bаn thờ thм ghế ở đầu
cung thбnh sẽ cу thể che chắn Nhа tạm vа thường cản trở việc lấy hay cất
Mмnh Thбnh Chъa; mặt khбc, do cần nвng cao ghế chủ tọa hơn cấp của bаn
thờ để bảo đảm cho toаn thể cộng đoаn cу thể nhмn thấy chủ tế nкn ghế

Chỗ ngồi cho cбc phу tế, thầy giъp lễ vа chưởng nghi được xếp hai bкn
của ghế chủ tọa hay ghế ngồi của Đức Giбm mục để họ dễ dаng thi hаnh cбc
chức năng quan trọng. Cũng cần những chỗ ngồi khбc cho cбc vị đồng tế.
Những người giъp lễ khфng bao giờ chiếm những chỗ nаy. Nếu cу thể, cбc
lễ sinh khфng nкn ngồi đối diện với dвn chъng như thể họ đang chủ tọa.
Ghế cho họ cу thể đặt để ở cung thбnh hay gần cung thбnh (QCSL 310; LNGM
50), tốt nhất lа gần bаn đồ lễ vа dọc theo hai bкn để họ cу thể dễ dаng
lại gần vа nhanh chуng tới chỗ để cбc sбch phụng vụ vа cбc vật dụng

bаn thờ vа đối diện với dвn chъng. Tuy nhiкn, trong thực tiễn, vị trн ở
phнa đầu cung thбnh thường khфng thнch hợp lắm. Bởi vм, một mặt, nếu Nhа
tạm được đặt ở trung tвm của cung thбnh phнa sau bаn thờ thм ghế ở đầu
cung thбnh sẽ cу thể che chắn Nhа tạm vа thường cản trở việc lấy hay cất
Mмnh Thбnh Chъa; mặt khбc, do cần nвng cao ghế chủ tọa hơn cấp của bаn

Đầu lễ, đang khi cộng đoаn đứng hбt Ca Nhập lễ, vị chủ tế đi vаo cung
thбnh. Ngаi tiến lкn hфn bаn thờ, rồi tщy nghi xфng hương thбnh giб vа
chung quanh bаn thờ. Sau đу, tư tế đi đến ghế chủ tọa. Từ ghế chủ tọa,
tư tế vа giбo dвn lаm dấu Thбnh giб. Rồi vị tư tế hướng về giбo dвn,

Theo quy định của QCSL tại cбc số 131-134 vа số 212, nơi chọn lựa đầu
tiкn để giảng lễ lа đứng tại ghế chủ tọa. Giảng lễ tại đвy cу hai э
nghĩa: i] Thứ nhất, nhấn mạnh đến cương vị của tư tế lа thầy dạy, người
lгnh đạo vа thбnh hуa cộng đoаn; ii] Thứ hai, tư tế lа đại diện của Đức
Giбm mục tại giбo xứ. Tại ghế chủ tọa, tư tế thi hаnh chức năng như vị
mục tử của đoаn chiкn. Quyền bнnh nаy đến từ Đức Giбm mục vа ghế giбm
mục lа dấu chỉ quyền bнnh giảng dạy của ngаi trong giбo phận. </span></p>

Sau khi giảng, chủ tế ngồi tại ghế chủ tọa thinh lặng giвy lбt (QCSL
66). Nếu cу đọc kinh Tin Kнnh, đang khi đứng tại ghế chủ tọa, tư tế dẫn
cộng đoаn vаo phần tuyкn xưng đức tin. Lời nguyện tнn hữu sau kinh Tin
Kнnh cũng được chủ tế điều khiển từ ghế chủ tọa trong khi những э nguyện
được loan bбo từ giảng đаi hay từ một nơi nаo khбc thнch hợp (QCSL 71).
Bằng việc chủ tọa lời nguyện tнn hữu từ ghế chủ tọa, tức lа những lời
dẫn nhập vаo lời nguyện tнn hữu vа lời nguyện kết thъc được thể hiện bởi
tư tế, ngаi nhấn mạnh đến chức vụ của mмnh lа người hướng dẫn kinh
nguyện của cộng đồng. Năng lực thбnh hуa nаy, vị tư tế tiếp nhận từ Đức
Giбm mục khi vị chủ chăn giбo phận tнn nhiệm trao phу cбc tнn hữu trong
một giбo xứ cho linh mục chăm sуc.</span></p>

của dвn chъng vа lễ vật được mang lкn cung thбnh. Chủ tế hay phу tế đуn
nhận những lễ vật từ cбc thаnh viкn của cộng đoаn tại một nơi thнch hợp

phải phвn biệt cбch tỏ tường với ghế dаnh cho giбo sĩ (QCSL 310). Tuy
nhiкn, những chỗ ngồi đу phải giъp cho cбc nhвn vật như: giъp lễ, thầy
đọc sбch, thầy giъp lễ, độc viкn, thừa tбc viкn Thбnh Thể hoаn thаnh
