Đáng buồn thay là một số người có trách nhiệm và sứ mạng rao giảng chân
lý, làm chứng cho sự thật, lại nhắm mắt, bịt tai trước những thực tế
gian ác, dối trá, lừa đảo, bất công và bóc lột người của chế độ cai trị.
Tệ hại hơn nữa là họ còn trơ trẽn uốn ba tấc lưỡi để ca tụng bản chất
xảo trá, gian dối, phi luân và vô nhân đạo để cầu lợi hoặc muốn được
tiến cử trong tham vọng uy quyền.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">

Nhưng họ quên một điều rất quan trọng là , dù nhìn dưới góc độ nào, thần
học hay triết học mà kết quả lượng giá (evaluated) thực tiễn cho thấy
không hề mang lại hay phục vụ cho lợi ích tinh thần và vật chất chính
đáng của con người, thì mọi lý thuyết, chủ thuyêt hay học thuyết kia chỉ
đáng quăng vào thùng rác mà thôi. Chúa nói: "<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><b style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">ai

trực tiếp chối bỏ hay tráo trở sự thật về một sự kiện nào đó.</i><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Thí
dụ, chối không nhận tội để khỏi bị phạt hay bồi thường thiệt hại cho
người khác. Tùy hoàn cảnh và sự việc mà tội nói dối<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">trở

hay nhẹ. Thí dụ, nói dối về phẩm chất của một món hàng để bán với giá

gây thiệt hại nặng cho người khác hơn là nói dối về phẩm chất món

Thí dụ : nói dối mình chưa có chồng hay vợ để lừa gạt người khác kết
hôn. Trong trường hợp này, hôn phối sẽ không thành sự (valid) theo giáo

nặng</i><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>không những đối với
luật pháp xã hội mà đặc biệt nghịch điều răn thứ tám của Chúa truyền dạy
xưa kia: “<b style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px"><i style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Ngươi
không được làm chứng gian hại người</i></b>”. ( Xh 20:16). Sau này, khi
rao giảng<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Tin
Mừng Cứu Độ</span><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">,
Chúa Giêsu cũng đã căn dặn các môn đệ: “<b style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px"><i style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Nhưng
hễ ‘có’ thì phải nói ‘có’, ‘không’ thì phải nói ‘không’. Thêm thắt điều
gì là do ma qủy</i></b>.” (x Mt 5:37)<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">

Trong đời sống xã hội<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">ở
khắp nơi<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">ngày

chứng gian</i><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><i style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">và
bội thệ</i><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>có thể làm thiệt
hại lớn lao cho người khác và ngăn cản thi hành công lý. Một phạm nhân
có thể bị tù tội nhiều năm hay được trắng án vì lời chứng thực hay thề
gian của nhân chứng. Vì thế, người bội thệ – hay thề gian – sẽ bị pháp

Trong Giáo Hội, làm chứng gian cũng gây trở ngại cho<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">việc
thành sự ( validity)<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">của
bí tích. Thí dụ, “<i style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">chứng gian cho
một người đã kết hôn để người này dối gạt kết hôn với người khác thì hôn
phối không thành sự (invalid).</i>” (Giáo luật số 1098). Người chứng
gian chắc chắn phạm tội lỗi giới răn<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">T</span><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">hứ<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Tám.
Riêng ở Mỹ, khai gian (nói dối) để hưởng các trợ cấp xã hội như
wellfare, foodstamps, single parent, bồi thường tai nạn xe cộ ... đều có
tội phạm điểu răn thứ tám và lỗi đức công bình. Ai giúp người khác khai
gian, thề dối để kiếm lợi đều có tội nghịch điều răn thứ tám và phép
công bình, đòi hỏi phải tôn trọng của công cũng như của riêng. Nghĩa là
không thể nói : khai gian để lấy tiền của chánh phủ hay của công ty thì
không có tội. Không có giáo lý nào dạy hay cho phép làm điều này.<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">

thân chủ đã tín nhiệm tiết lộ cho mình. Các bác sĩ cũng không cần phải
nói sự thật về bệnh tình cho bệnh nhân biết để tránh gây hoảng hốt và

tư của người khác</i></b>, dù biết sự xấu của ai thì vì đức bác ái,
không được tố cáo cho người khác biết về sự xấu còn đang trong vòng kín
đáo. tình với ai, nhưng chuyện này còn trong vòng kín ít người biết. Mình

cáo thêm cho người khác biết khiến sự xấu trở thành công khai, gây thiệt
hại nặng cho danh dự của người liên hệ. Nếu có, trong trường hợp này,
chỉ nên cầu nguyện cho họ, và nếu thuận tiện, thì tìm cách kín đáo

tinh thần lời dạy của Chúa Giêsu về việc "sửa lỗi anh em" (Mt 18: 15-17

Nói khác đi, không ai có bổn phận phải đi tố cáo cho người khác những gì
hoàn toàn thuộc về đời tư của một cá nhân, một gia đình. Nhưng ngược

cá nhân hay tập thể làm những điều xấu có hại cho lợi ích chung của
nhiều người khác hay cho cả cộng đồng, thì vì công ích chung, lại buộc

cách nói dối là chưa hề kết hôn, hay người phối ngẫu đã chết, thì vì lợi
ích của người đang bị dối gạt, và của người phối ngẫu đang bị phản bội
kia, người biết có bổn phận phải tố cáo việc này với thẩm quyền có trách
nhiệm. Cụ thể là trình sự việc cho linh mục đang giúp lo thủ tục kết hôn
cho người kia biết để ngăn chặn kịp thời sự xấu, tai hại. Đây là việc
bác ái, công bằng và lương tâm<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span>đ</span><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">òi
buộc phải làm. Nếu không, sẽ có lỗi là dung túng hay cộng tác vào việc

Cũng vậy, khi biết rỏ có kẻ làm hàng giả, pha chế đồ ăn với hoá chất có
hại cho sức khoẻ của người tiêu thụ thì cũng buộc phải tố cáo để tránh
cho công chúng khỏi bị thiệt hại do việc làm thiếu lương thiện nói trên

Cũng thế, với những kẻ đang lường gạt phụ nữ dưới chiêu bài “<i style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">hôn
nhân ngoại quốc</i>” hay tuyển mộ công nhân đi làm xa với lương cao
nhưng thực tế chỉ là mua bán những phụ nữ đáng thương này cho dịch vụ
mãi dâm hay nô lệ tình dục<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">rất
tội lỗi và khốn nạn này,<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">thì
buộc phải lên tiếng tố cáo việc làm vô đạo</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px"><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>này<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">của

công luận biết để cứu nguy cho các nạn nhân. Đây là vấn đề lương tâm và

không, sẽ có tội dung thứ hay cộng tác vào việc làm tội lỗi của kẻ khác.
Cách riêng, các linh mục có bổn phận dạy dỗ cho giáo dân biết về vấn đề
này vì lợi ích thiêng liêng của họ. Do đó, không nên chứng hôn cho những
cặp muốn lấy nhau để được ra nước ngoài, chứ không vì yêu thương và muốn
sống bí tích hôn phối thực sự.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">

hôn trong Giáo Hội, nhưng cứ lên rước Mình Máu Thánh Chúa<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span>khi
tham dự Thánh Lễ,<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">thì
người biết phải tố cáo việc này cho cha xứ nơi các đương sự đến dự thánh
lễ để ngăn cản họ, vì theo giáo lý, giáo luật họ không được phép làm như

Cũng trong trường hợp tương tự, nếu biết kẻ sát nhân đang lẫn trốn ở
đâu, nhất là biết có kẻ khủng bố đang dự định phá hoại, đặt bom ở chỗ
nào, thì buộc phải tố cáo kín cho nhà chức trách biết để bắt và trừng
trị những kẻ đó<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">hầu<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span><span lang="VI" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">tránh

Nhưng nếu có người đang cầm dao hoặc súng đi tìm ai để sát hại, thì lại
không được chỉ chổ trốn của nạn nhân cho hung thủ. Nếu chỉ chỗ để nạn
nhân phải thiệt mạng thì sẽ mắc tội cộng tác vào việc sát nhân. Không ai
buộc phải ngay thẳng, nói thật trong trường hợp này</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial; margin: 0px; padding: 0px">,
vì kẻ mưu sát là kẻ đang muốn làm sự dữ, nên tuyệt đối không ai được
