Mẹ hiền, quen dùng nghi lễ an táng không chỉ để phó dâng cho Thiên Chúa
những người đã qua đời, mà còn để làm gia tăng niềm hy vọng của con cái
mình và làm chứng cho niềm tin của mình là: những người đã được rửa tội
sau này sẽ được phục sinh cùng với Chúa
Kitô.

Hiến chế về Phụng vụ đã soạn thảo nghi thức an táng này và đã thử nghiệm
cách thích hợp tại nhiều noi khác nhau. Sau cùng, Đức Phaolô VI đã dùng
Quyền Tông tòa phê chuẩn và truyền phổ biến để từ nay những ai sử dụng
sách Nghi lễ Rôma phải sử dụng nghi thức an táng này.</span></span></p>

Đức Giáo Hoàng Phaolô VI, nay Thánh Bộ Phụng Tự cho công bố sách Nghi
thức An táng này va quyết định ngày bắt đầu có hiệu lực là ngày 1 tháng
6 năm 1970.</span></span></p>

thêm là cho tới ngày 1 tháng 6 năm tới, khi cử hành nghi thưc an táng
bằng tiếng Latinh, có thể sử dụng hoặc nghi lễ an táng trong sách Nghi
lê Rôma cũ hoặc nghi thức an táng mới này. Sau ngày kể trên, chỉ được
dùng nghi thức an táng mới nay mà thôi.</span></span></p>

mục, sau khi soạn thảo bản dịch Nghi thức này ra tiếng địa phương và
được Thánh Bộ Phụng Tự phê chuẩn, có thể quy định ngày bắt đầu có hiệu
lực trước ngàý 1 tháng 7 năm 1970.</span></span></p>
