được Chúa chúc phúc. Tôi hớn hở vui mừng trong Chúa, và lòng tôi hoan hỉ

Hằng năm cha mẹ Chúa Giêsu có thói quen lên Giêrusalem để mừng lễ Vượt qua.
Lúc bấy giờ Chúa Giêsu lên mười hai tuổi, cha mẹ Người đã lên Giêrusalem,
theo tục lệ mừng ngày lễ Vượt cha mẹ Người đã lên Giêrusalem, theo tục lệ
mừng ngày lễ Vượt Qua. Và khi những ngày lễ đã hoàn tất, hai ông bà ra về,
trẻ Giêsu đã ở lại Giêrusalem mà cha mẹ Người không hay biết. Tưởng rằng
Người ở trong nhóm các khách đồng hành, hai ông bà đi được một ngày đàng,
mới tìm kiếm Người trong nhóm bà con và những kẻ quen biết. Nhưng không gặp
thấy Người, nên hai ông bà trở lại Giêrusalem để tìm Người. Sau ba ngày, hai
ông bà gặp thấy Người trong đền thờ đang ngồi giữa các thầy tiến sĩ, nghe và
hỏi các ông. Tất cả những ai nghe Người nói, đều ngạc nhiên trước sự hiểu
biết và những câu Người đáp lại. Nhìn thấy Người, hai ông bà đã ngạc nhiên,
và mẹ Người bảo Người rằng: “Con ơi, sao Con làm cho chúng ta như thế? Kìa
cha Con và mẹ đây, đã đau khổ tìm Con”. Người thưa với hai ông bà rằng: “Mà
tại sao cha mẹ tìm con? Cha mẹ không biết rằng con phải lo công việc của Cha
con ư?” Nhưng hai ông bà không hiểu lời Người nói. Bấy giờ Người theo hai
ông bà trở về Nadarét, và Người vâng phục hai ông bà. Maria mẹ Người ghi nhớ
những việc đó trong lòng.</p>

Trong các lễ nhớ dành riêng cho Mẹ Maria liên quan tới lễ Đức Mẹ Lộ Đức, có
lễ Trái Tim Vô Nhiễm Nguyên Tội Mẹ Maria. Kiểu nói ”trái tim vô nhiễm” mới
có sau này, và trở thành thông dụng sau khi Đức Giáo Hoàng Piô IX công bố
tín lý Đức Mẹ Vô Nhiễm Nguyên Tội năm 1854. Trước đó có các kiểu nói thông
dụng như ”trái tim rất thanh sạch”, hay ”trái tim rất vẹn tuyền”, hoặc ”trái
tim rất thánh” Đức Mẹ Maria…</p>

Việc tôn sùng Trái Tim Vô Nhiễm Đức Mẹ được dựa trên nền tảng Phúc Âm: <em style="box-sizing: border-box; border: 0px; font-size: 16px; font-style: italic; font-weight: inherit; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">“Maria
ghi nhớ những điều này và suy niệm trong lòng” (Lc 2, 19), và “Còn Mẹ Ngài
thì ghi nhớ những điều này trong lòng</em>” (Lc 2, 51). Trong Cựu Ước, trái
tim được xem là biểu tượng thẳm sâu trong tâm lòng con người, là trung tâm
của mọi chọn lựa và cam kết. Còn đối với nhân loại thì đó là biểu tượng của
tình yêu. Trong sách Đệ Nhị Luật ta đã nghe rằng: <em style="box-sizing: border-box; border: 0px; font-size: 16px; font-style: italic; font-weight: inherit; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">“Ngươi
hãy yêu mến Chúa, Thiên Chúa ngươi, hết tâm lòng, hết sức lực và trí khôn
ngươi.</em>” (Đnl 6,5). Trong Tin Mừng theo thánh Máccô thì khi các biệt
phái chất vấn Đức Kitô về giới răn nào là trọng nhất, Ngài đã nhắc lại đoạn
Kinh Thánh này để trả lời cho họ (Mc 12, 29-33).</p>

Chính Trái Tim Mẹ đã đáp trả bằng tiếng “Xin vâng” với Thiên Chúa khi được
sứ thần Gabrien truyền tin. Do sự ưng thuận vì tình yêu, Mẹ Maria trước hết
đã cưu mang Đức Giêsu trong trái tim mình và rồi cũng cưu mang trong cung
lòng của Mẹ.</p>

Theo lịch sử, việc tôn sùng Trái Tim Đức Mẹ được tìm thấy đầu tiên vào thế
kỷ 12 với nhiều sử gia như Thánh Anselm (1109) và Thánh Bernard thành
Clairvaux (1153) là thánh viết rất tài tình về việc tôn sùng thánh thiện
này. Thánh Bernadine thành Siena (1380-1444) đã được gọi là Tiến Sĩ về lòng
sùng kính Trái Tim Mẹ vì những trước tác về Trái Tim Mẹ. Ngài viết, “từ trái
tim Mẹ, như lò lửa của Tình Yêu Rất Thánh, Đức Trinh Nữ Maria đã nói lên
ngôn ngữ tuyệt vời nhất của một tình yêu mãnh liệt.” Thánh John Eudes
(1601-1680) qua các bài viết của Ngài đã giúp khơi lại lòng sùng kính này.
Đức Thánh Cha Lêô XIII và Piô X gọi ngài là “cha, thầy dạy và là tông đồ
phụng vụ lòng sùng mến Thánh Tâm Chúa Giêsu và Mẹ Maria”. Thánh John Eudes
và những người theo ngài đã dành ngày 8 tháng 2 trong khoảng năm 1643 để
kính nhớ Trái Tim Vẹn Sạch Đức Mẹ. Về sau, Đức Piô VII cho mở rộng ngày mừng
kính này để các giáo xứ hoặc hội đoàn nào muốn tôn sùng thì cũng được phép.</p>

Việc tôn sùng Trái Tim Mẹ Maria có một truyền thống đẹp đẽ hơn nữa qua tấm
ảnh đeo của Thánh Catarina Laboure năm 1830 và việc hiện ra của Đức Mẹ tại
Fatima từ ngày 13 tháng 5 đến 13 tháng 10 năm 1917. Mẹ đã hiện ra với 3 trẻ
là Jacinta, Phanxicô và Luica tại Fatima, Bồ Đào Nha. Trong ngày 13 tháng 7,
Mẹ đã cho các trẻ này biết rằng ”để cứu những người tôi lỗi, Thiên Chúa đã
ước ao thiết lập việc sùng kính Trái Tim Vô Nhiễm của Mẹ”. Toàn bộ lời nhắn
nhủ của Mẹ là một lời cầu nguyện, thống hối và bằng những việc hy sinh, đền
bù phạt tạ Thiên Chúa về những xúc phạm đến Ngài.</p>

Vào năm 1942, kỷ niệm 25 năm biến cố Đức Mẹ hiện ra ở Fatima, Đức Thánh Cha
Piô XII đã dâng thế giới cho Trái Tim Vô Nhiễm Đức Mẹ. Cũng vào năm ấy, ngài
đã chọn mừng lễ này vào ngày 22 tháng 8, một tuần sau lễ Đức Mẹ Hồn Xác Về
Trời. Ngày 4 tháng 5 năm 1944, ngài loan báo mở rộng lễ Đức Mẹ Vô Nhiễm cho
Giáo Hội hoàn vũ. Với những cải cách về phụng vụ trong Công Đồng Vatican II,
lễ kính Trái Tim Vô Nhiễm Mẹ được dời về một ngày ngay sau Lễ Kính Thánh Tâm
Chúa Giêsu, chính là ngày thứ bảy sau chúa nhật thứ hai sau Lễ Hiện Xuống.</p>

Thiên Chúa đã chọn Mẹ Maria để cưu mang Đấng Cứu Thế, để cộng tác cho công
trình cứu chuộc của Người. Công trình này xuất phát từ tình yêu của Thiên
Chúa. Đức Maria đã cộng tác với Thiên Chúa để mang tình yêu của Người cho
nhân loại. Chúa cũng mời gọi sự cộng tác của mỗi người chúng ta. Mỗi người
đều có một vai trò và vị trí đặc biệt trong kế hoạch cứu độ của Thiên Chúa.
Điều Thiên Chúa cần nơi mỗi người chúng ta là noi gương Mẹ Maria, luôn sẵn
sàng vâng phục thánh ý của Chúa.</p>
