<strong><font size="3">Suy niệm:</font></strong><font size="3"> Gio-an Tẩy Giả đã giới thiệu Chúa Giê-su là Chiên
Thiên Chúa, Đấng xóa tội cho trần gian. Sở dĩ Chúa Giê-su được nhiều người
đương thời tin nhận cũng là nhờ lời chứng mạnh mẽ đó của ông. Lời chứng của
Gio-an nhắc nhở ta hôm nay nhớ đến sứ vụ loan báo Tin Mừng của mọi tín hữu.
Thực vậy, khi lãnh bí tích thánh tẩy, chúng ta trở nên <em>người môn đệ-nhà
truyền giáo</em> được Chúa chọn, sai đi dọn đường cho Chúa đến với anh chị
em. Chúa muốn mượn miệng lưỡi, đôi tay, đôi chân, con tim và khối óc của ta
để có thể giới thiệu, diễn tả lòng Chúa yêu thương cứu độ cho những con
người thời đại hôm nay. Để là dụng cụ đắc lực ấy của Chúa, ta đừng bao giờ
tự mãn cho rằng mình đã sống đạo lâu năm, biết rõ về Chúa, giáo lý về Ngài.
Trái lại, cần phải siêng năng tìm hiểu, học biết giáo lý và Lời Chúa, để có
thể hiểu đúng về Chúa, rồi diễn đạt niềm tin bằng một đời sống chứng tá tốt
đẹp như ông Gio-an đã làm.</font></font></p>

người trong nhóm môn đệ của ông, nhìn theo Chúa Giêsu đang đi mà nói: "Đây

Giêsu ngoảnh mặt lại, thấy họ đi theo mình, thì nói với họ: "Các ngươi tìm

<strong><u>Suy niệm</u>:</strong> Gioan Tẩy Giả có tầm ảnh hưởng rất lớn
trong thời của ông: Dân chúng coi ông như một ngôn sứ lớn, thậm chí còn
tưởng ông là Đấng Mêsia. Bạo chúa như Hêrôđê cũng phải kiêng nể uy tín của
Gioan. Nhưng bất cứ khi nào Gioan nói, ông cũng đều qui hướng về Đức Giêsu <em>“Đấng
đến sau tôi nhưng cao trọng hơn tôi, tôi không đáng xách dép cho Người”</em>;
ông từ chối nói về bản thân mình chỉ nhận mình chỉ là <em>“tiếng kêu trong
hoang địa” “làm phép rửa bằng nước” </em>đồng thời ông lại tán dương Đức
Giêsu là <em>“Đấng làm phép rửa trong Thánh Thần và lửa” </em>(Mt 3,11)<em>. </em>Hơn
nữa, thay vì củng cố uy tín thanh thế của mình bằng cách lôi kéo, ràng buộc
các môn đệ vây quanh mình, Gioan sẵn sàng <em>“lu mờ đi” </em>để Chúa được <em>“nổi
bật lên” </em>khi ông giới thiệu các môn đệ của mình đến với Chúa, Người mà
ông xác quyết là <em>“Chiên Thiên Chúa.”</em> Sứ mạng của ông là vì Chúa và
cho Chúa mà thôi, và khi làm như thế, ông biết rằng sứ mạng của ông sắp hoàn
tất.<br>

<strong><u>Mời Bạn</u>:</strong> Cám dỗ lớn trong chúng ta khi làm việc loan
báo Chúa cho người khác đó là lôi kéo ảnh hưởng về cho chính mình, phe nhóm
mình hơn là đưa họ về với Thiên Chúa. Vấp phạm này đã làm xấu đi mục đích
việc truyền giáo. Mời bạn theo tấm gương “tự xoá mình đi” của Gioan Tẩy Giả.<br>
<strong><u>Sống Lời Chúa</u>:</strong> Trong việc tông đồ, luôn ý thức khiêm
tốn, tự xoá mình đi <em>“để làm vinh danh Chúa hơn.”<br>
