thì cũng không được có Chúa Cha. Còn ai tuyên xưng Chúa Con thì cũng được có

và Chúa Cha nữa. Và này là điều Người đã hứa cho chúng ta, đó là sự sống đời
đời. Ta đã viết những điều này cho các con biết về những người lừa dối các

không phải là Đấng Kitô". Họ liền hỏi: "Như vậy là thế nào? Ông có phải là
Elia chăng?" Gioan trả lời: "Tôi không phải là Elia". - "Hay ông là một đấng

trả lời: "Tôi làm phép rửa trong nước, nhưng giữa các ngươi, có Đấng mà các
ngươi không biết. Đấng ấy sẽ đến sau tôi, nhưng chính Đấng ấy đã có trước
tôi, và tôi không xứng đáng cởi dây giày cho Người". Việc này xảy ra tại
Bêtania, bên kia sông Giođan, nơi Gioan làm phép rửa.</font></p>

<strong><font size="3">Suy niệm:</font></strong><font size="3"> Sự xuất hiện của Gio-an Tẩy Giả đã thu hút sự chú
ý của nhiều người. Họ kéo đến với Gio-an vì nhiều lý do: Có thể vì thán phục
và tò mò, muốn biết ‘ngài là ai’; có thể vì lòng sám hối, đến để xin chịu
phép rửa; cũng có thể vì ngộ nhận, tưởng rằng ngài là Đấng Ki-tô... Như thế,
Gio-an đã trở thành một <em>dấu hỏi</em> lớn cho người đương thời. Gio-an đã
tận dụng cơ hội này để làm chứng về Đức Ki-tô. Ông như muốn nói với họ
rằng: <em>mọi người thán phục tôi, nhưng còn có Đấng quyền thế hơn tôi, tôi
không đáng cởi quai dép cho Người. Đấng ấy đang ở giữa quí vị</em>.</font></font></p>

Xã, có một người đã đứng ra nhận chết thay cho một bạn tù, vì anh này còn mẹ
già và con thơ cần được chăm sóc. Ngạc nhiên về hành động can đảm này, viên
cai ngục thắc mắc tại sao, Mac-xi-mi-li-a-nô Kôn-bê bình thản trả lời: “<em>Vì
tôi là một linh mục Công Giáo”</em>. Không cần nói về Đức Ki-tô, nhưng cha
Kôn-bê đã làm chứng về Ngài. Và chắc chắn những việc tử tế của chúng ta,
cũng là cơ hội tốt để làm chứng về Đức Ki-tô như vậy.</font></font></p>

<strong><u>Suy niệm</u>:</strong> Chính Gioan đã hai lần thú nhận chính ông
cũng <em>“đã không biết Người”</em> (x. Ga 1,31.33) thế nên chẳng trách dân
chúng không biết <em>“có một Đấng đang ở giữa họ</em>.<em>”</em> Thật ra
không phải là không ai biết gì về con người Giêsu Nadarét mà còn biết rất rõ
một Giêsu, con bác thợ mộc, sống giữa họ, cũng bình thường như họ, như bao
người khác. Phần Gioan ắt hẳn cũng biết ít nhiều về Giêsu người bà con với
mình, nhất là biết những sự kiện lạ lùng về việc sinh ra của Người. Thế
nhưng vẫn còn đó bức màn mầu nhiệm vượt quá trí hiểu của con người. Đứng
trước mầu nhiệm Giêsu, Gioan khiêm tốn nhìn nhận giới hạn nhân loại của
mình. Chính nhờ thế, Gioan lại có thể chứng thực cho toàn dân biết <em>“Đấng
mà họ không biết”,</em> nhờ ơn mạc khải của Đấng đã sai ông đi làm phép rửa
trong nước: <em>“Ngươi thấy Thần Khí xuống và ngự trên ai, thì người đó
chính là Đấng làm phép rửa trong Thánh Thần”</em> (Ga 1,33).<br>
<br>
<strong><u>Mời Bạn</u>:</strong> Có người thẳng thừng từ khước Thiên Chúa và
mầu nhiệm của Ngài. Có những người khác tiếp cận mầu nhiệm theo lối “người
trần mắt thịt”. Lúc này, lúc khác chúng ta đều có thể thuộc vào một trong
hai loại đó, và do đó chúng ta đã không thể nhận ra <em>“Đấng Emmanuen,
Thiên Chúa ở giữa chúng ta.” </em>Cần có lòng khiêm tốn của Gioan để có thể
thấy Chúa đang ở giữa chúng ta, ở trong anh chị em của mình.<br>

<strong><u>Sống Lời Chúa</u>:</strong> Làm một việc bác ái phục vụ một người
anh em bé nhỏ với niềm xác tín mình đang phục vụ Chúa.<br>

<strong><u>Cầu nguyện</u>:</strong></font><em><font size="3"> Lạy Chúa Hài Nhi, xin giúp con nhận
