rời bỏ núi Hor, theo con đường về phía Biển Đỏ, để vòng
quanh xứ Eđom. Dân chúng đi đường xa mệt nhọc, nên nản chí,
kêu trách Chúa và Môsê rằng: "Tại sao các người dẫn chúng
tôi ra khỏi Ai-cập, cho chúng tôi chết trong hoang địa.

Cha, vì thế Chúa Giêsu nói: "Khi nào các ông đưa Con Người
lên cao, các ông sẽ nhận biết Ta là ai. Ta không tự mình làm
điều gì. Điều Ta nói, chính là điều Chúa Cha đã dạy Ta. Đấng
đã sai Ta đang ở với Ta; Ngài không để Ta một mình, bởi vì
Ta luôn luôn làm điều đẹp lòng Ngài". Khi Người nói những
điều ấy thì có nhiều kẻ tin vào Người. Đó là lời Chúa.</font></p>

<strong><em>“Nếu các ông không tin là Tôi Hằng Hữu, các ông
sẽ mang tội mình mà chết.” </em></strong>(Ga 8,24)<br>
<strong><u>Suy niệm</u>:</strong> Những người Pha-ri-sêu
đang tức lồng lộn lên vì bẽ mặt sau khi thất bại trong vụ xử
người phụ nữ ngoại tình để gài bẫy Chúa Giê-su. Giờ đây, họ
xoay ra tố cáo Chúa đã đưa ra một lời chứng không thật. Chúa
cho biết Chúa Cha đã sai Ngài và làm chứng cho Ngài. “Thuộc
về thượng giới,” nhưng Chúa đã mang thân phận con người hạ
giới để nâng nhân loại lên thượng giới. Thế nhưng lời Chúa
nói với người Pha-ri-sêu chẳng khác nào nước đổ lá môn. Họ
không hiểu, không tin vì họ đã tự hạn chế tầm nhìn nơi hạ
giới, giải thích mọi sự theo cái nhìn hạ giới đó. Chúa nói:
muốn hiểu và tin lời Chúa thì phải ngước tầm nhìn lên cao: <em>“Khi
các ông giương cao Con Người lên, bấy giờ các ông mới biết
là Tôi Hằng Hữu.”</em> Và chỉ khi nào tin <em>Chúa Giêsu
Hằng Hữu, </em>lúc đó mới khỏi <em>“mang tội lỗi mình mà
chết.”</em><br>
<strong><u>Mời Bạn</u>:</strong> Nhiều lúc cuộc đời chúng ta
giống như chiếc xe bị lún xuống vũng lầy: càng gầm rú lại
càng bị lún sâu. Mải mê làm ăn, mong có một cuộc sống thoải
mái. Nhưng khổ nỗi, đã có rồi lại muốn hưởng thụ thêm, có
khi lại vướng mắc vào những đam mê tội lỗi, muốn tháo gỡ ra
thì lại bị đắm sâu hơn. Bạn ơi, nếu cứ để mình bị sa đà
trong việc hưởng thụ, thì không bao giờ bạn thoát khỏi vòng
luẩn quẩn của những sự hạ giới. <strong>Đừng để mình phải
chết trong tội</strong> như thế, nhưng hãy ngước nhìn lên
Đức Ki-tô chịu đóng đinh thập giá để Chúa nâng bạn lên với
Ngài.<br>
<strong><u>Sống Lời Chúa</u>:</strong> Xét mình về một tội
hay tái phạm, chiêm ngắm Chúa chịu đóng đinh và xin ơn ăn
năn chừa tội.<br>
