Pamphy-lia; còn Gioan từ biệt các ngài, và trở về
Giêrusalem. Hai ngài sang qua Perghê và đến Antiôkia xứ
Pisiđia; ngày Sabbat, các ngài vào ngồi trong hội đường. Sau
khi đọc sách luật và các tiên tri, những thủ lãnh nhà hội
đường sai người đến nói với các ngài rằng: "Hỡi anh em, nếu
ai trong anh em có lời khuyên bảo dân chúng, xin hãy nói".</font></p>

nói: "Hỡi người Israel và những kẻ kính sợ Thiên Chúa, hãy
nghe đây. Thiên Chúa dân Israel đã chọn Tổ phụ chúng ta,
Người đã thăng tiến dân Người khi họ còn cư ngụ trong nước
Ai-cập và Người ra tay mạnh mẽ đưa cha ông chúng ta ra khỏi
nước ấy. Trong thời gian bốn mươi năm, Người chịu đựng thói
xấu họ trong hoang địa; và sau khi đã tiêu diệt bảy dân tộc
trong đất Canaan, Người đã cho họ chiếm đất của các dân tộc
ấy gần bốn trăm năm mươi năm; và sau đó, Người ban cho họ
các thẩm phán cho đến tiên tri Samuel. Kế đó, họ xin một nhà
vua và Thiên Chúa cho Saolê, con ông Cis, thuộc chi họ
Bengiamin, cai trị họ bốn mươi năm. Sau khi loại bỏ Saolê,
Chúa đã đặt Đavít lên làm vua dân Người, để chứng nhận điều
đó, chính Người đã phán: 'Ta đã gặp được Đavít con của
Giêsê, người vừa ý Ta, người sẽ thi hành mọi ý muốn của Ta'.</font></p>

Đức Giêsu làm Đấng Cứu Độ, Đấng mà Gioan đã báo trước khi
người đến rao giảng phép rửa thống hối cho toàn dân Israel.
Khi Gioan hoàn tất hành trình, ngài tuyên bố: 'Tôi không
phải là người mà anh em lầm tưởng; nhưng đây, Người sẽ đến

Trong Tin Mừng theo thánh Gioan, chữ “tin” không phải là một
khái niệm lý thuyết mà là một hành động. Tin là tiếp nhận
Đấng mà Thiên Chúa sai đến cũng như những lời Đấng ấy truyền
dạy. Trong khung cảnh Tin Mừng hôm nay, hành động “tin” là
chấp nhận mang lấy thân phận của Đức Ki-tô. Thật vậy, “tôi
tớ không lớn hơn chủ”: Thầy bị bạc đãi thì môn đệ cũng bị
bạc đãi, Thầy phải chịu khổ nạn thì môn đệ cũng phải “vác
thập giá mình hằng ngày mà theo Thầy” (Lc 9,23). Chính nhờ
việc chung chia thân phận với Đức Ki-tô mà người môn đệ cũng
sẽ được chung phần vinh quang với Ngài nơi Chúa Cha vì: “Ai
đón tiếp người Thầy sai đến là đón tiếp Thầy, và ai đón tiếp
Thầy là đón tiếp Đấng đã sai Thầy” (Ga 13,20). Đón nhận Đức
Ki-tô, “Dung Mạo của Lòng Thương Xót” chính là đón nhận Chúa
Cha, Đấng Thương Xót”.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" align="justify"><font face="Arial"><b>
Mời Bạn: </b>Món quà tặng lớn nhất của Thiên Chúa tặng ban
cho loài người đó là chính Người Con Một; và thái độ đáp lại
tốt nhất của con người là tin, là đón nhận món quà đó. Chính
thái độ tiếp nhận này làm thay đổi tận căn cuộc sống của
người nhận, vì “ai tin vào Con của Người, thì không phải
chết, nhưng được sống muôn đời” (x. Ga 3,16-17). Thật diễm
phúc khi bạn tin, khi bạn tiếp nhận một món quà vô giá như
vậy.</font></p>

Lời Chúa: Thưa với Chúa: “Lạy Chúa, xin ban thêm lòng tin
