Ðiều này biểu lộ tình yêu của Thiên Chúa đối với chúng ta: là Thiên Chúa
chúng ta đã sai Con Một Người đến trong thế gian, để nhờ Ngài mà chúng ta
được sống. Tình yêu ấy là thế này: Không phải chúng ta đã yêu mến Thiên
Chúa, nhưng chính Người đã thương yêu chúng ta trước, và đã sai Con Một
Người đến hy sinh, đền thay vì tội lỗi chúng ta.</p>

Các con thân mến, nếu Thiên Chúa thương yêu chúng ta dường ấy, thì chúng ta
cũng phải thương yêu nhau. Chẳng ai thấy Thiên Chúa bao giờ, nếu chúng ta
thương yêu nhau, thì Thiên Chúa ở trong chúng ta, và tình yêu của Người nơi
chúng ta đã được tuyệt hảo. Do điều này mà chúng ta biết chúng ta ở trong
Người và Người ở trong chúng ta: là Người đã ban Thánh Thần cho chúng ta. Và
chúng ta đã thấy và chứng nhận rằng Chúa Cha đã sai Con mình làm Ðấng Cứu
Thế.</p>

Khi ấy, nhiều người Do-thái đến nhà Mác-ta và Ma-ri-a để an ủi hai bà vì
người em đã chết. Khi hay tin Chúa Giê-su đến, Mác-ta đi đón Người, còn
Ma-ri-a vẫn ngồi nhà. Mác-ta thưa Chúa Giê-su: “Thưa Thầy, nếu Thầy có mặt ở
đây thì em con không chết. Tuy nhiên, ngay cả bây giờ, con biết Thầy xin gì
cùng Thiên Chúa, Thiên Chúa cũng sẽ ban cho Thầy”. Chúa Giê-su nói: “Em con
sẽ sống lại”. Mác-ta thưa: “Con biết ngày tận thế, khi kẻ chết sống lại, thì
em con sẽ sống lại”. Chúa Giê-su nói: “Ta là sự sống lại và là sự sống, ai
tin Ta, dầu có chết cũng sẽ được sống. Và kẻ nào sống mà tin Ta, sẽ không
chết bao giờ. Con có tin điều đó không?” Bà thưa: “Thưa Thầy: vâng, con đã
tin Thầy là Ðấng Ki-tô, Con Thiên Chúa hằng sống đã đến trong thế gian”.</p>

</em>Tin Mừng Chúa Giê-su Ki-tô theo Thánh Lu-ca.Khi ấy, Chúa Giê-su vào một làng kia, và có một phụ nữ tên là Martha rước
Người vào nhà mình. Bà có người em gái tên là Maria ngồi bên chân Chúa mà
nghe lời Người. Martha bận rộn với việc thết đãi khách. Bà đứng lại thưa
Người rằng: “Lạy Thầy, em con để con hầu hạ một mình mà Thầy không quan tâm
sao? Xin Thầy bảo em con giúp con với”. Nhưng Chúa đáp: “Martha, Martha, con
lo lắng bối rối về nhiều chuyện. Chỉ có một sự cần mà thôi: Maria đã chọn
phần tốt nhất, và sẽ không bị ai lấy mất”.</p>

nhận biết Thiên Chúa. Còn ai không yêu thương, thì không biết Thiên Chúa, vì

</span>Ðiều này biểu lộ tình yêu của Thiên Chúa đối với chúng ta: là Thiên
Chúa chúng ta đã sai Con Một Người đến trong thế gian, để nhờ Ngài mà chúng
ta được sống. Tình yêu ấy là thế này: Không phải chúng ta đã yêu mến Thiên
Chúa, nhưng chính Người đã thương yêu chúng ta trước, và đã sai Con Một

chúng ta cũng phải thương yêu nhau. Chẳng ai thấy Thiên Chúa bao giờ, nếu

Người nơi chúng ta đã được tuyệt hảo. Do điều này mà chúng ta biết chúng ta
ở trong Người và Người ở trong chúng ta: là Người đã ban Thánh Thần cho
chúng ta. Và chúng ta đã thấy và chứng nhận rằng Chúa Cha đã sai Con mình

đây thì em con không chết. Tuy nhiên, ngay cả bây giờ, con biết Thầy xin gì
cùng Thiên Chúa, Thiên Chúa cũng sẽ ban cho Thầy”. Chúa Giê-su nói: “Em con
sẽ sống lại”. Mác-ta thưa: “Con biết ngày tận thế, khi kẻ chết sống lại, thì
em con sẽ sống lại”. Chúa Giê-su nói: “Ta là sự sống lại và là sự sống, ai
tin Ta, dầu có chết cũng sẽ được sống. Và kẻ nào sống mà tin Ta, sẽ không
chết bao giờ. Con có tin điều đó không?” Bà thưa: “Thưa Thầy: vâng, con đã

</span>Hôm nay, Giáo hội kính nhớ các thánh Mát-ta, Ma-ri-a và La-da-rô là 3
chị em ở làng Bê-ta-ni-a. Lễ này đã được Đức Thánh Cha Phan-xi-cô thêm vào
lịch phụng vụ chung của Giáo hội Công giáo Rô-ma, ngày 2/2/2021. Ngày này
trước đây, chỉ được sử dụng để kính nhớ duy nhất thánh Mát-ta.<span style="background-color: #FFFFFF"><br>

</span>Sắc lệnh của Bộ Phụng tự và Kỷ luật Bí tích đã giải thích rằng Đức
Thánh Cha thêm ba vị thánh vào lịch phụng vụ chung của Giáo hội Công giáo
Rô-ma “vì chứng tá Phúc âm quan trọng của họ trong việc đón rước Chúa Giê-su
vào nhà họ, chăm chú lắng nghe Người, tin rằng Người là sự sống lại và là sự
sống.”<span style="background-color: #FFFFFF"><br>
<br>
</span>Sắc lệnh khẳng định: “Trong ngôi nhà ở Bê-ta-ni-a, Chúa Giê-su cảm
nghiệm tình gia đình và tình bạn của Marta, Maria và La-da-rô, và vì lý do
này, Phúc âm thánh Gio-an khẳng định rằng Chúa yêu thương họ. Bà Mát-ta đã
rộng lượng tiếp đãi Người, bà Ma-ri-a ngoan ngoãn lắng nghe lời Người và ông
La-da-rô nhanh chóng đi ra khỏi mộ theo lệnh của Đấng đã chiến thắng sự
chết.”<span style="background-color: #FFFFFF"><br>

</span>Bài Phúc âm trích đọc trong thánh lễ này (Lc 10, 38-42) minh chứng
tình cảm mà chị em nhà này đã dành cho Chúa. Họ tận tình tiếp đãi Chúa mỗi
người một cách thế. Dầu vậy, Bài Phúc âm cũng mời gọi chúng ta suy nghĩ về
trật tự của những việc chúng ta làm cho Chúa.<span style="background-color: #FFFFFF"><br>
<br>
</span>Mát-ta đón thầy trong tư cách chị cả. Chị tất bật trong bếp lo bữa ăn
để tiếp đãi Thầy, chị lo lắng phải làm sao để tiếp đón Thầy cho xứng. Còn
Ma-ri-a đón tiếp Chúa bằng cách thanh thản, lặng lẽ ngồi bên chân Thầy để
lắng nghe.<span style="background-color: #FFFFFF"><br>
<br>
</span>Mát-ta là người đảm đang, thạo việc, nhanh nhẹn. Nhưng chị không muốn
khách phải chờ đợi lâu, và chị cũng muốn đãi khách một bữa ăn tương đối
thịnh soạn. Nhưng trong tình thế này, chị thấy rất cần sự giúp đỡ của cô em.<span style="background-color: #FFFFFF"><br>
<br>
</span>Chị đề nghị: “Xin Thầy bảo em giúp con một tay !” Ước mơ của Mát-ta
rất đỗi bình thường. Tiếc thay, Thầy Giê-su lại đang kể chuyện cho Ma-ri-a,
và cô này đang lắng nghe một cách thích thú. Nhờ Thầy kêu em xuống bếp là
phá vỡ câu chuyện còn dang dở của Thầy. Mát-ta bị mối lo về bữa ăn chi phối
khiến chị quên cả lịch sự cần có. Chị quên rằng Thầy Giê-su không chỉ cần
bữa ăn, mà còn cần tình bạn. Và tiếp khách cũng là một cách phục vụ không
kém giá trị.<span style="background-color: #FFFFFF"><br>
<br>
</span>Thầy Giê-su nhìn thấy sự căng thẳng, lúng túng của Mát-ta. và nhận ra
lòng tốt của chị, khi chị muốn dọn một bữa ăn xứng đáng. Thầy gọi tên chị
hai lần cách trìu mến: Mát-ta, Mát-ta. Ngài nhẹ nhàng trách chị vì đã lo
lắng băn khoăn về nhiều chuyện quá. “Chỉ cần một chuyện thôi. Ma-ri-a đã
chọn phần tốt hơn”.<span style="background-color: #FFFFFF"><br>
<br>
</span>Thầy Giê-su không bảo rằng điều Mát-ta làm là điều không tốt. Nhưng
ngồi nghe Thầy vẫn là điều tốt hơn, cần hơn.<span style="background-color: #FFFFFF"><br>
<br>
</span>Cuộc sống hôm nay dễ làm chúng ta bị cuốn vào chọn lựa của Mát-ta, bị
đè nặng bởi công việc. Chúng ta quên mất: điều cần hơn là dành thời giờ để
gặp Chúa, ở bên chân Chúa mà lắng nghe.

</span>Đời sống của người Ki-tô hữu là kết hợp hài hoà giữa chọn lựa của
