<strong>Suy niệm:</strong> Người Pharisêu trong dụ ngôn giữ
luật hơn mức luật đòi buộc: luật chỉ buộc mỗi năm ăn chay
một ngày vào dịp lễ Xá tội, còn ông ăn chay tuần hai lần;
luật đòi buộc nộp một phần muời những hoa lợi chính, còn ông
nộp một phần mười tất cả lợi tức. Thế nhưng, lòng kiêu hãnh
đã làm hỏng tất cả thành quả đạo đức của ông. Ông khoe thành
tích chứ không cầu nguyện. Ông độc thoại chứ không nói
chuyện với Chúa. Trong một lời cầu nguyện ngắn ngủi, chữ “<strong>tôi</strong>”
được ông lập lại 6 lần. Ông lại khinh thường miệt thị người
khác. Ông thiếu lòng khiêm tốn, thiếu chất đất tốt cho các
nhân đức triển nở.<br>
Lời cầu nguyện của người thu thue được Chúa coi là mẫu mực: <strong>“<em>Lạy
Chúa, xin thương xót con là kẻ tội lỗi</em></strong>”. Ông
đã nói lên sự thật về chính mình. Nhận mình có tội không
phải chỉ là nhận biết một chuỗi các việc xấu ta phạm mà còn
là nhận ra tình trạng thân phận của mình là những tội nhân.</font></p>

<strong>ÂN SỦNG TỪ LÒNG CHÚA BAN</strong><br>
<strong><em>Người thu thuế thì đứng xa, thậm chí chẳng dám
ngước mắt lên trời, nhưng vừa đấm ngực vừa thưa rằng: “Lạy
Chúa, xin thương xót con là kẻ tội lỗi.”</em></strong>(Lc
18,13)<br>
<strong><u>Suy niệm</u>: </strong>Vì sao người Pha-ri-sêu kể
lể công trạng của mình, nào là ăn chay mỗi tuần hai lần, nào
là nộp phần thu nhập, nào là không tham lam, ngoại tình…? Vì
sao người thu thuế chỉ biết đấm ngực và nhận mình là người
tội lỗi? Tất cả thái độ của họ là kết quả từ nhận thức họ có
về ân sủng. Hiểu sao, sống vậy. Người Pha-ri-sêu hiểu rằng
Thiên Chúa phải ban ơn cho ông, vì ông làm những việc theo
Luật dạy, nên đã kể lại một cách chính xác và tỉ mỉ những gì
ông làm, không thêm thắt điều gì. Đối với ông, ân sủng ông
nhận được là do công trạng của ông. Còn người thu thuế hiểu
rằng, ân sủng không đến từ tội lỗi, nhưng là hồng ân của
Thiên Chúa ban cách vô điều kiện. Ông không làm được việc gì
đáng được hưởng ân sủng. Ông chỉ còn lòng tin vào Chúa, nhờ
đó ông được hưởng ân sủng Chúa ban, như lời thánh Phao-lô đã
nói: “<em>Vì chúng ta tin, nên Đức Giê-su đã mở lối cho
chúng ta vào hưởng ân sủng của Thiên Chúa</em>” (Rm 5,2).
Quả thật, Chúa ban ân sủng của Ngài cho chúng ta theo lòng
thương xót của Ngài, vượt xa mọi công trạng của chúng ta.<br>
<strong><u>Mời Bạn</u>:</strong> Bạn rút tỉa được gì từ thái
độ hai nhân vật trong dụ ngôn trên? Bạn trở nên khiêm tốn và
nài xin ơn Chúa hay tự phụ những việc mình làm, những gì
mình có để bắt bẻ, xét đoán anh em?<br>
<strong><u>Sống Lời Chúa</u>:</strong> Xếp lại thời khóa
biểu mỗi ngày, trong đó có giờ tạ ơn Chúa.<br>
<strong><u>Cầu nguyện</u>:</strong><em>“Lạy Chúa, xin thương
xót con là kẻ tội lỗi.” Xin cho con nghiệm thấy lòng thương
xót của Chúa và vui mừng vì được Chúa thứ tha.</em></font></p>
