chạy 100m từ bao đời nay dường như không thể vượt qua ngưỡng
10 giây, nay đã liên tục bị phá đổ bởi Usain Bolt (Yu-sên
Bôn), tay đua người Jamaica biệt danh “Tia Chớp”, với 9.69
giây năm 2008, và tạm dừng ở mức 9.58 giây trong năm 2009.
Với phương châm Olympic “nhanh hơn, cao hơn, xa hơn”, không
ai biết anh sẽ phá kỷ lục của chính mình tới mức nào. Cũng
thế đối với đời sống thiêng liêng mà thánh Phao-lô ví như
một <em>“cuộc chạy đua”</em> (1Cr 9,24) trong đó ta phải
luôn nhắm thẳng tới đích (Pl 3,12-14) để <em>“chạy hết chặng
đường” </em>và <em>“giữ vững niềm tin”</em> (2Tm 4,7) thì
Chúa Giê-su đưa ra phương châm <em>“công chính hơn”</em>:
không chỉ như <em>“các kinh sư và người Pha-ri-sêu”</em> mà
phải là <em>“nên hoàn thiện như Cha trên trời là Đấng hoàn
thiện” </em>(Mt 5,48).</font></p>

chính hơn”</em> không hệ tại ở một số việc làm hình thức bên
ngoài mà ở cả tấm lòng yêu mến: không phải cứ dâng nhiều lễ
vật lên Chúa là đủ mà trước hết phải sống hoà bình với nhau;
giới răn “chớ giết người” không chỉ cấm xâm phạm mạng sống
con người, mà còn đòi loại bỏ khỏi tâm trí mọi ý tưởng giận
ghét anh em nữa, bởi vì <em>“ai ghét anh em mình, ấy là kẻ
sát nhân”</em> (1Ga 3,15). Hơn nữa, cả khi chúng ta làm
những việc tự bản chất là tốt, nhưng nếu không làm vì mến
Chúa thì những việc đó cũng chưa thể giúp ta đạt được tiêu
chí <em>“công chính hơn”</em> này.</font></p>

con người phải ân hận nhất là tính dễ nổi giận của mình, bởi
vì người dễ nổi giận thì rất dễ phá hoại công việc của mình
cũng như kế hoạch của người khác. Khi trưng dẫn luật Mô-sê:
“Chớ giết người”, Chúa Giê-su không bác bỏ, Ngài cũng đồng ý
như vậy, nhưng Ngài còn muốn đưa nó đi xa hơn nữa, đi đến
tận cùng ý muốn của Thiên Chúa, đó là trừ khử sự tức giận,
là nguyên nhân sâu xa đi đến tội giết người, chẳng những
giết thân xác mà còn giết cả phẩm giá và danh dự kẻ khác.
Kinh nghiệm cho thấy chiến tranh phát sinh từ hận thù tranh
chấp: trước khi loại bỏ kẻ khác bằng súng đạn, thì người ta
đã loại trừ nhau ra khỏi tâm hồn mình bằng lòng hờn giận,
ghen ghét, bằng tiếng cãi cọ, chửi rủa.</font></p>

đang có chuyện bất bình với người khác, người ấy mới cần
phải đi làm hoà. Còn Chúa, Chúa đòi hỏi hễ ai nhận thấy
người khác đang bất bình với mình, mình đã phải đi bước
trước làm hoà rồi. Hơn nữa nếu tôi là nguyên nhân khiến cho
người khác bất bình, thì việc tôi đi làm hoà đã là lẽ đương
nhiên. Nhưng ngay cả khi tôi phải chịu sự bất bình vô cớ,
tôi cũng phải là người trước tiên lên tiếng hoà giải nữa.
Như thế mới đúng là cung cách của người môn đệ Chúa.</font></p>

dâng của lễ trên bàn thờ nữa. Chính Ngài là Con Thiên Chúa
đã đến trần gian để hoà giải chúng ta là tội nhân với Thiên
Chúa là Cha Ngài. Mọi thánh lễ chính là hy tế hoà giải Chúa
thực hiện cho từng người chúng ta. Thật là hay nếu mọi người
đều làm khi bắt đầu thánh lễ là đấm ngực thú tội: “Lỗi tại
tôi, lỗi tại tôi mọi đàng” và tiếp sau đó chủ động đi làm
hoà với nhau.</font></p>
