"Tôi là người Do-thái, sinh tại Tarsê xứ Cilicia, đã được nuôi nấng trong
thành này, đã được đào tạo theo chân lý lề luật cha ông dưới chân ông
Gamaliêl. Tôi nhiệt thành với lề luật cũng như hết thảy quý vị hôm nay. Tôi
đã bắt bớ giết chóc đạo này, xiềng xích và bỏ tù cả đàn ông lẫn đàn bà. Như
thầy thượng tế và toàn thể hội đồng kỳ lão đã làm chứng điều đó. Các ngài đã
trao cho tôi chứng minh thư để tôi đến kiếm anh em ở Đamas, bắt trói họ và
điệu về Giêrusalem để trừng phạt.</font></p>

đang trên đường gần đến Đa-mas, thình lình một luồng ánh sáng chan hoà từ
trời chói rạng quanh tôi. Tôi ngã xuống đất và nghe tiếng phán bảo tôi:
"Saolô, Saolô, sao ngươi bắt bớ Ta?" Tôi đáp: "Thưa Ngài, Ngài là ai?" Người
trả lời: "Ta là Giêsu Nadarét mà ngươi đang bắt bớ". Và những người cùng ở
đó với tôi lúc ấy, cũng thấy ánh sáng, nhưng không nghe tiếng Đấng nói với
tôi. Tôi hỏi: "Lạy Chúa, con phải làm gì?" Chúa liền nói với tôi: "Hãy chỗi
dậy, vào thành Đamas, ở đó sẽ nói cho ngươi tất cả những gì ngươi phải làm".
Nhưng vì ánh sáng chói loà kia, tôi không còn thấy được, nên các bạn tôi cầm
tay dẫn tôi vào thành Đamas. Có một người kia tên là Anania, người đạo đức,
sống theo Lề luật, và được mọi người Do-thái ở đó kính phục, đến tìm tôi và
đứng gần tôi mà nói: "Hỡi anh Saolô, anh hãy nhìn!" Ngay lúc đó tôi nhìn
thấy ông.</font></p>

chúng ta đã tiền định cho anh biết thánh ý Người, thấy Đấng Công Chính và
nghe tiếng Người nói. Vậy anh phải làm chứng cho Người trước mặt mọi người
về điều anh đã thấy và đã nghe. Và bây giờ, anh còn chần chừ gì nữa? Hãy
chỗi dậy và cầu khẩn danh Người mà chịu thanh tẩy và gột rửa mình cho sạch
tội lỗi". Đó là lời Chúa.</font></p>

Đamas, bỗng nhiên một luồng ánh sáng từ trời chiếu xuống bao phủ lấy ông,
ông ngã xuống đất và nghe tiếng phán rằng: "Saolô, Saolô, sao ngươi bắt bớ
Ta?" Ông thưa: "Lạy Ngài, Ngài là ai?" Chúa đáp: "Ta là Giêsu mà ngươi đang
bắt bớ; giơ chân đạp mũi nhọn thì khổ cho ngươi". Saolô run sợ và kinh hoàng
hỏi rằng: "Lạy Chúa, Chúa muốn con làm gì?" Chúa phán: "Hãy chỗi dậy, vào
thành, và ở đó người ta sẽ nói cho ngươi phải làm gì". Những kẻ đồng hành
với ông đứng lại, hoảng hốt; họ nghe rõ tiếng mà không thấy ai. Saolô chỗi
dậy khỏi đất, mắt ông vẫn mở mà không trông thấy gì. Người ta cầm tay dẫn
ông vào thành Đamas; ông ở lại đấy ba ngày mà không thấy, không ăn, cũng
không uống.</font></p>

<font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Bấy giờ ở Đamas, có một môn đồ tên
là Anania; trong một thị kiến, Chúa gọi ông rằng: "Anania". Ông thưa: "Lạy
Chúa, này con đây". Chúa phán: "Hãy chỗi dậy và đến phố kia gọi là phố
"Thẳng", và tìm tại nhà Giuđa một người tên Saolô, quê ở Tarsê; nó đang cầu
nguyện". (Saolô cũng thấy một người tên Anania bước vào, và đặt tay trên ông
để ông được sáng mắt). Anania thưa: "Lạy Chúa, con đã nghe nhiều người nói
về người này rằng: ông đã gây nhiều tai ác cho các thánh của Chúa tại
Giêrusalem; tại đây, ông đã được các thượng tế cho phép bắt trói tất cả
những ai kêu cầu danh Chúa". Nhưng Chúa phán: "Cứ đi, vì người này là lợi
khí Ta đã chọn, để mang danh Ta đến trước dân ngoại, vua quan và con cái
Israel. Ta sẽ tỏ cho nó biết phải chịu nhiều đau khổ vì danh Ta".</font></p>

tay trên Saolô mà nói: "Anh Saolô, Chúa Giêsu, Đấng hiện ra với anh trên
đường đi đến đây, sai tôi đến cùng anh, để anh được thấy và được tràn đầy
Thánh Thần. Tức thì có thứ gì như những cái vảy rơi khỏi mắt ông, và ông
được sáng mắt.</font></p>

khi ăn uống, ông được lại sức, ông ở lại ít ngày cùng với các môn đồ thành
Đamas. Và lập tức ông rao giảng trong các hội đường rằng Đức Giêsu là Con
Thiên Chúa. Mọi người nghe rao giảng đều kinh ngạc và nói rằng: "Há chẳng
phải ông này đã bách hại những người đã cầu khẩn danh ấy tại Giêrusalem, và
cũng đã tới đây mà truy nã họ để điệu họ về cho các thượng tế sao?" Đó là
lời Chúa.</font></p>

uống phải chất độc thì cũng không bị hại; họ đặt tay trên những người bệnh,

<strong><u>Suy niệm</u>:</strong> Phaolô là người hùng của Luca trong sách
Công vụ Tông đồ, một người hùng không phải vì những chiến công đánh đông dẹp
bắc, nhưng là người hùng trong công cuộc loan báo Tin Mừng. Khởi điểm của
người hùng ấy lại là sự kiện ngã ngựa đau đớn và rồi chịu khuất phục hoàn
toàn trước vị vua vũ trụ Giêsu. Từ khi tỉnh ngộ, nhận biết Đức Giêsu, cuộc
đời Phaolô chuyển sang một hướng mới: nghĩ mọi cách, làm mọi sự, đi mọi nơi,
gặp mọi người, miễn là Tin Mừng của Đức Giêsu được loan báo, để mọi người
cũng được nghe, biết và rồi đón nhận Tin Mừng ấy như mình. Vì yêu mến Đức
Giêsu, người hùng Phaolô luôn lao mình về phía trước, bất kể thử thách,
chống đối và thậm chí bách hại.</p>

<strong><u>Mời Bạn</u>: </strong>Từ người hùng bách hại đạo Chúa, Phaolô trở
thành người hùng phụng thờ Ngài. Từ chỗ cậy dựa vào công trạng cá nhân, sau
cú ngã ngựa, Phaolô nhận ra mọi vinh quang cá nhân phát xuất từ ơn cứu độ,
sự sống mới của Đức Giêsu. Còn bạn, bạn dám hoán cải triệt để như Phaolô
không, nghĩa là mạnh dạn thay đổi cái nhìn về Chúa, người khác và chính mình
không?</p>

mến Chúa.</p>

Trên đường đi Đa-mát, ông Sao-lô quê thành Tác-xô đã khám phá ra hai điều :
Trước hết, Đức Giê-su Na-da-rét là Đấng đã phục sinh, cũng là Đấng được

* CHIA SẺ :<br>
Ngã ngựa, một sự thất bại của người lính trên chiến trường, nhưng cũng là
một sự “san bằng” đỉnh cao ngạo mạn cho những ai kiêu ngạo.<br>
Ngã ngựa bao giờ cũng đau, cũng có một giá trị riêng của nó, nhưng cũng là
một bài học cho mỗi người.<br>
Hôm nay, phụng vụ Hội Thánh kính nhớ thánh Phaolô được ơn trở lại làm Tông
đồ của Chúa, để rồi trở nên người nhiệt thành rao giảng Tin Mừng Chúa Giêsu
Kitô.<br>
Trong bài đọc thứ 1, trích sách Công vụ Tông đồ cho thấy, Saun – một người
Do thái, với lòng nhiệt thành hăng say đã bách hại và giết các Kitô hữu.
“Tôi đã bắt bớ Đạo này, không ngần ngại giết kẻ theo Đạo, đã đóng xiềng và
tống ngục cả đàn ông lẫn đàn bà, như cả vị thượng tế lẫn toàn thể hội đồng
kỳ mục có thể làm chứng cho tôi. Tôi còn được các vị ấy cho thư giới thiệu
với anh em ở Đamát, và tôi đi để bắt trói những người ở đó, giải về
Giêrusalem trừng trị.”<br>
Nhưng việc Chúa làm cho ta ôi vĩ đại, ta tưởng mình đang đi giữa giấc mơ,
giữa những đường cong Chúa vẽ nên những đường thẳng; giữa những sự cao ngạo,
ngạo mạn, kiêu căng của Saun, Chúa uốn anh ta trở nên khiêm nhu, trở nên khí
cụ trong tay của Chúa, để loan báo Tin Mừng.<br>
Quả thật, trên đường đi Tácxô để bắt bớ người Kitô hữu, Saun đã được Chúa
Giêsu Phục Sinh hiện ra trong ánh sáng chói lòa vinh quang của Thiên Chúa,
đã làm cho Saun ngã ngựa. “Đang khi tôi đi đường và đến gần Đamát, thì vào
khoảng trưa, bỗng nhiên có một luồng ánh sáng chói lọi từ trời chiếu xuống
bao phủ lấy tôi. Tôi ngã xuống đất và nghe có tiếng nói với tôi : ‘Saun,
Saun, tại sao ngươi bắt bớ Ta?’”<br>
Từ đây, Saun được Chúa Giêsu Phục Sinh mạc khải cho biết chương trình cứu độ
của Ngài, và Saun trở nên tông đồ cho dân ngoại, loan báo tình yêu thập giá,
ơn cứu độ cho muôn dân. “Ước chi tôi chẳng hãnh diện về điều gì, ngoài thập
giá Chúa Giêsu Kitô, Chúa chúng ta! Nhờ thập giá Người, thế gian đã bị đóng
đinh vào thập giá đối với tôi, và tôi đối với thế gian.” (Gl 6,14) Và thánh
Phaolô đã thực thi sứ vụ của mình là phải rao giảng Tin Mừng của Chúa Giêsu
Kitô cho muôn dân. “Thật vậy, đối với tôi, rao giảng Tin Mừng không phải là
lý do để tự hào, mà đó là một sự cần thiết bắt buộc tôi phải làm. Khốn thân
tôi nếu tôi không rao giảng Tin Mừng!” (1 Cr 9,16).<br>
Chúng ta cũng thế, sứ vụ của chúng ta là phải loan báo, làm chứng cho Tin
Mừng bằng chính tình yêu và lòng bác ái của mỗi người chúng ta dành cho anh
chị em. “Anh em hãy đi khắp tứ phương thiên hạ, loan báo Tin Mừng cho mọi
loài thọ tạo.” (Mc 16,15) Hãy trở nên là men, là muối cho đời và là ánh sáng
cho trần gian. Bạn nhé!</p>
