Các con thân mến, ai là người chiến thắng thế gian, nếu không phải là người
tin rằng Chúa Giêsu là Con Thiên Chúa? Đấng đã đến nhờ nước và máu, chính là
Đức Giêsu Kitô, không phải trong nước mà thôi, nhưng trong nước và máu nữa.
Có Thánh Thần làm chứng rằng Chúa Kitô là chân lý. Và trên mặt đất có ba
nhân chứng: Thánh Thần, nước và máu, cả ba chỉ là một. Nếu chứng của người
đời mà chúng ta còn nhận lấy, thì chứng của Thiên Chúa còn mạnh hơn. Vì đó
là chứng của Thiên Chúa, chứng mạnh hơn là Người đã làm chứng về Con Mình.</p>

Ai tin kính Con Thiên Chúa, thì có chứng của Thiên Chúa nơi mình. Còn ai
không tin Thiên Chúa, thì cho Người là gian dối, vì kẻ ấy không tin nơi
chứng mà Thiên Chúa đã làm chứng về Con Mình. Và chứng đó là thế này: Thiên
Chúa đã ban cho chúng ta sự sống đời đời, và sự sống đó ở trong Con của
Người. Ai có Chúa Con, thì có sự sống; còn ai không có Chúa Con, thì cũng
không có sự sống. Ta viết các điều này cho các con, để các con biết rằng các
con là những người tin vào danh Con Thiên Chúa, các con có sự sống đời đời.
Đó là lời Chúa.</p>

Xảy ra khi Chúa Giêsu đang ở trong một thành kia, thì có một người mình đầy
phong hủi, thấy Chúa Giêsu, liền sấp mặt xuống đất, van xin Ngài rằng: "Lạy
Thầy, nếu Thầy muốn, Thầy có thể cho tôi được sạch". Người giơ tay chạm đến
người ấy và nói: "Ta muốn, hãy nên trơn sạch". Lập tức, người ấy khỏi phong
hủi. Người ra lệnh cho người ấy không được nói với ai, nhưng: "Hãy đi trình
diện với tư tế, và hãy dâng lễ vật như luật Môsê đã dạy, để làm chứng cho
người ta biết ngươi được sạch". Nhưng tiếng đồn về Người cứ lan rộng, và dân
chúng đông đảo kéo nhau đến để nghe Người và được chữa lành bệnh tật. Còn
Người, thì lánh vào nơi hoang vắng và cầu nguyện.</p>

<strong>Suy niệm:</strong> Thời Chúa Giê-su, lương y dù có tài giỏi cỡ nào
cũng bó tay trước bệnh phong. Thế nhưng với Chúa Giê-su, không có gì là
không có thể. Ngài muốn sao nên vậy! Ngài chữa lành người phong không cần
thuốc men; chỉ cần Ngài muốn là được. Việc Ngài chữa lành mọi bệnh hoạn tật
nguyền, xua trừ ma quỷ, cho người chết trỗi dậy, cho thấy rõ ràng Ngài là
Con Thiên Chúa đã đến thế gian. Đối với con người, khoảng cách giữa điều ta
ước muốn và hiện thực thật quá xa vời: nhiều điều ta muốn nhưng không thực
hiện được, kể cả khi cậy nhờ người khác. Sự bất lực ấy cho thấy sự bất toàn
nơi con người. Chính vì vậy, tâm tình và thái độ phải có là bắt chước người
phong trong Tin Mừng: <em>“Nếu Ngài muốn, Ngài có thể làm cho tôi được
sạch.”</em></p>

<strong>Mời Bạn:</strong> Người phong đã được Phúc Âm hóa nhờ tin vào Chúa
Giê-su, là hiện thân của Tin Mừng Cứu Độ. Tin Mừng lúc này không chỉ là chữ
viết, mà còn là một con người đang sống, đang nói với người bệnh: <em>“Ta
muốn…”</em> Hãy để cho ý muốn của Chúa được thể hiện nơi đời sống của mỗi cá
nhân và cộng đoàn chúng ta.</p>

<strong><u>Suy niệm</u>:</strong> Vào thời chưa có thuốc ngừa và thuốc chữa
bệnh phong, căn bệnh truyền nhiễm quái ác này quả thật là đáng sợ. Ai mắc
phải căn bệnh này kể như đã tàn đời. Thân xác thì lở loét đau đớn, tinh thần
thì bị cô đơn không ai dám tiếp xúc với mình. Nếu như mọi người đều tìm cách
xa lánh, tránh tiếp xúc với người phong, thì ngược lại <strong>Đức Giêsu giơ
tay đụng vào người bệnh</strong>. Làm như vậy, Đức Giêsu thể hiện sự liên
đới với người bệnh, chữa cho anh lành sạch và phục hồi cho anh quyền sống
trong tương quan với người khác, với đầy đủ phẩm giá là một người và là
thành viên trọn vẹn trong cộng đồng nhân loại.</p>

cách con người mà là Emmanuen, là <em>“Thiên Chúa ở cùng chúng ta”, </em>làĐấng
mà chúng ta <em>có-thể-đụng-chạm-đến</em> để được chữa lành. Phương thế để
Chúa chạm đến chính là các bí tích mà cửa ngõ đầu tiên mở sẵn cho chúng ta
là Bí tích Rửa Tội. Chúng ta trở thành người phong trước mặt Thiên Chúa khi
chúng ta tìm cách xa lánh Ngài. Chúng ta cần để cho Chúa chạm đến để được
