<font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Khi ấy, Gioan đang đứng với hai
người trong nhóm môn đệ của ông, nhìn theo Chúa Giêsu đang đi mà nói: "Đây
là Chiên Thiên Chúa". Hai môn đệ nghe ông nói, liền đi theo Chúa Giêsu. Chúa
Giêsu ngoảnh mặt lại, thấy họ đi theo mình, thì nói với họ: "Các ngươi tìm
gì?" Họ thưa với Người: "Rabbi, nghĩa là thưa Thầy, Thầy ở đâu?" Người đáp:
"Hãy đến mà xem". Họ đã đến và xem chỗ Người ở, và ở lại với Người ngày hôm
ấy, lúc đó độ chừng giờ thứ mười. Anrê, em ông Simon Phêrô, (là) một trong
hai người đã nghe Gioan nói và đã đi theo Chúa Giêsu. Ông gặp Simon anh mình
trước hết và nói với anh: "Chúng tôi đã gặp Đấng Messia, nghĩa là Đấng
Kitô", và ông dẫn anh mình tới Chúa Giêsu. Chúa Giêsu nhìn Simon và nói:
"Ngươi là Simon, con ông Gioan, ngươi sẽ được gọi là Kêpha, nghĩa là Đá".</font></p>

<strong><em>Thấy Đức Giêsu đi ngang qua, Gioan lên tiếng nói: “Đây Chiên
Thiên Chúa.” Hai môn đệ nghe ông nói, liền đi theo Đức Giêsu. </em></strong>(Ga
1,36-37)<br>
<strong><u>Suy niệm</u>:</strong> Gioan Tẩy Giả có tầm ảnh hưởng rất lớn
trong thời của ông: Dân chúng coi ông như một ngôn sứ lớn, thậm chí còn
tưởng ông là Đấng Mêsia. Bạo chúa như Hêrôđê cũng phải kiêng nể uy tín của
Gioan. Nhưng bất cứ khi nào Gioan nói, ông cũng đều qui hướng về Đức Giêsu <em>“Đấng
đến sau tôi nhưng cao trọng hơn tôi, tôi không đáng xách dép cho Người”</em>;
ông từ chối nói về bản thân mình chỉ nhận mình chỉ là <em>“tiếng kêu trong
hoang địa” “làm phép rửa bằng nước” </em>đồng thời ông lại tán dương Đức
Giêsu là <em>“Đấng làm phép rửa trong Thánh Thần và lửa” </em>(Mt 3,11)<em>. </em>Hơn
nữa, thay vì củng cố uy tín thanh thế của mình bằng cách lôi kéo, ràng buộc
các môn đệ vây quanh mình, Gioan sẵn sàng <em>“lu mờ đi” </em>để Chúa được <em>“nổi
bật lên” </em>khi ông giới thiệu các môn đệ của mình đến với Chúa, Người mà
ông xác quyết là <em>“Chiên Thiên Chúa.”</em> Sứ mạng của ông là vì Chúa và
cho Chúa mà thôi, và khi làm như thế, ông biết rằng sứ mạng của ông sắp hoàn
tất.<br>
<strong><u>Mời Bạn</u>:</strong> Cám dỗ lớn trong chúng ta khi làm việc loan
báo Chúa cho người khác đó là lôi kéo ảnh hưởng về cho chính mình, phe nhóm
mình hơn là đưa họ về với Thiên Chúa. Vấp phạm này đã làm xấu đi mục đích
việc truyền giáo. Mời bạn theo tấm gương “tự xoá mình đi” của Gioan Tẩy Giả.<br>
<strong><u>Sống Lời Chúa</u>:</strong> Trong việc tông đồ, luôn ý thức khiêm
tốn, tự xoá mình đi <em>“để làm vinh danh Chúa hơn.”</em><br>
<strong><u>Cầu nguyện</u>:</strong><em> Lạy Chúa Giê-su Hài Đồng, xin cho
con biết giới thiệu Chúa là Con Thiên Chúa cho mọi người, để họ cũng được
hạnh phúc như con.</em></p>

After a succession of messengers, Peter is finally presented to Jesus and
this fisherman is named to lead the Christian community. This gospel has a
powerful and wonderful meaning. The same Peter is said to call out, ‘Lord to
whom would we go? You are the Saviour of the world!’ Such knowing! He must
have been given a receptive heart as well as his fishing boat. And those
impulsive leaps in to the sea, trying to get to his friend, Jesus! Finally,
the words of love from Jesus, ‘Do you love me more than these?’ Can’t you
hear his mystified answer in today’s lingo: ‘Hey man, what are you on about?
Of course I love you!’ And the guiding principle from Jesus - ‘Look after my
people.’ A tiny part of each of us can be like Peter, in our searching and
