thời gian viên mãn, Thiên Chúa đã sai Con Ngài sinh hạ bởi người phụ nữ,
sinh dưới chế độ Luật, để cứu chuộc những người ở dưới chế độ Luật, hầu cho
chúng ta được nhận làm dưỡng tử. Sở dĩ vì anh em được làm con, Thiên Chúa đã
sai Thần Trí của Con Ngài vào tâm hồn chúng ta, kêu lên rằng: "Abba!", nghĩa

<strong>Suy niệm:</strong> Mỗi năm các tạp chí danh tiếng trên thế giới lại
chọn những nhân vật quyền lực nhất trong năm qua. Trong số 72 nhân vật của
năm 2014, ta nhận thấy đa số là các nguyên thủ các cường quốc, các tổng giám
đốc điều hành những tập đoàn lớn, các tỷ phú. Năm nay (2014), Đức giáo hoàng
Phanxicô được xếp thứ tư trong số các nhân vật danh giá ấy. Ngày đầu năm
mới, Hội Thánh long trọng mừng kính Đức Maria như nhân vật quyền lực, ảnh
hưởng nhất với người Kitô hữu trong năm mới cũng như mọi năm. Người mẹ Đức
Giêsu được gọi là Mẹ Thiên Chúa, một tước hiệu quá cao quý, vượt quá mọi trí
óc siêu phàm nào. Thế nhưng, người Mẹ Thiên Chúa ấy lại ảnh hưởng đến ta
trong tư thế của một nữ tỳ của Thiên Chúa: mau mắn, vui vẻ vâng lời Thiên
Chúa, và suy đi nghĩ lại về chương trình của Thiên Chúa để làm theo ý Ngài.</p>

<strong><u>Suy niệm</u>:</strong> Cả trình thuật Giáng Sinh của Tin Mừng
Luca theo sát những bước chân của các người chăn chiên. Trừ Maria và Giuse,
chính các người chăn chiên là những người đầu tiên gặp Chúa Hài Nhi. Họ ở
ngoài đồng ban đêm và họ được các thiên sứ báo tin; họ hối hả<strong><br>
</strong>tìm đến và gặp Hài Nhi trong máng cỏ; rồi họ ra về, vừa đi vừa tôn
vinh Thiên Chúa… Một chi tiết rất đặc biệt: Thánh Sử không nói rằng Maria và
Giuse đã giới thiệu cho các người chăn chiên về Con Trẻ, mà chính các người
chăn chiên này đã nói về Hài Nhi cho cha và mẹ của Hài Nhi, và cho những
người khác nữa! Họ là những người loan báo Tin Mừng, những người làm chứng.<br>
<strong><u>Mời Bạn</u>:</strong> Cùng với thánh sử Luca, ta dừng ống kính
lại nơi các người chăn chiên và thử mô tả họ. Họ giống như những người chăn
bò tại các vùng sâu vùng xa ở Việt Nam. Họ thuộc hàng mạt rệp trong bậc
thang xã hội và tôn giáo Do thái. Họ là những người nghèo theo mọi nghĩa. Họ
dốt nát vì họ thất học. Thường xuyên ở gần và đụng chạm súc vật nên họ cũng
thường bị coi là ô uế. Cứ phải một nắng hai sương để kiếm cơm nên họ không
còn mấy thời giờ cho việc đạo nghĩa. Họ ở ngoài rìa đời sống tôn giáo và xã
hội. Nghèo, dốt, bị khinh thường và kỳ thị. Thế nhưng chính họ là những
người đầu tiên được gặp Chúa. Và họ là những người đầu tiên loan báo Tin
Mừng Chúa sinh ra.<br>
<strong><u>Sống Lời Chúa</u>:</strong> Chúa trân trọng và ưu ái những người
bé nhỏ, khốn cùng nhất. Tôi sẽ tập nhìn những “người chăn chiên” xung quanh
cuộc đời mình bằng cái nhìn của Chúa.<br>
<strong><u>Cầu nguyện</u>:</strong>Hiệp tâm tình với Đức Maria, Mẹ Thiên
