<span style="font-size: 12.0pt">Theo giáo lý của Giáo Hội Công
Giáo, mọi hình thức bói toán đều bị cấm: như nhờ đến ma quỷ,
Satan, gọi hồn người chết, hoặc các cách thực hành khác nhằm
“vén màn” để biết tương lai. Việc tra cứu tử vi, chiêm tinh, xem
chỉ tay, phân tích các điềm trời và các quẻ… đều hàm ý muốn
thống trị và vượt trên thời gian, vượt trên lịch sử và vượt trên
con người, đồng thời muốn chiếm được sự đồng tình của những
quyền lực bí ẩn. Những điều này trái nghịch với sự tôn trọng và
cung kính mà chúng ta phải dành cho một mình Thiên Chúa (xem
GLCG 2116). Còn việc xem chỉ tay hay tướng mạo, không tin vào
một quyền lực bí ẩn ngoài Thiên Chúa, mà chỉ căn cứ vào kinh
nghiệm, quan sát của mình hay của người khác có tính cách hoàn
toàn khoa học thì không mắc tội gì.</span></font></p>
