trả lời câu hỏi này, tôi chỉ xin nhắc lại Giáo Lý Công Giáo về
trường hợp các em nhỏ chết mà chưa chịu phép Rửa tội: "Đối với
các trẻ nhỏ chết khi chưa lãnh nhận Phép Rửa tội, Phụng vụ của
Giáo Hội kêu mời chúng ta hãy tin tưởng vào lòng từ bi của Thiên
Chúa và hãy cầu nguyện cho ơn cứu độ của các em." (GLCG 1283;
xem thêm 1260-1261). Vatican II cũng tuyên bố: "Những kẻ vô tình
không nhận biết Phúc Âm của Chúa Kitô và Giáo Hội Người, nhưng
nếu thành tâm tìm kiếm Thiên Chúa, và dưới tác động của ơn
Thánh, họ cố gắng chu toàn Thánh ý Thiên Chúa trong công việc
mình theo sự hướng dẫn của lương tâm, thì họ có thể được cứu
rỗi. Cả những kẻ vô tình chưa nhận biết Thiên Chúa cách rõ ràng,
nhưng nhờ ơn Chúa, cố gắng sống đời chính trực, Chúa quan phòng
không từ chối ban ơn trợ lực cần thiết để họ được cứu rỗi" (LG
