<font face="Times New Roman">Theo Giáo Lý và Giáo Luật, các thừa
tác viên thường lệ của Bí Tích Rửa tội là các giám mục, linh
mục, và trong Giáo Hội Latin còn thêm các phó tế nữa; trong
trường hợp khẩn cấp, bất cứ ai cũng có thể rửa tội, cả những
người chưa lãnh nhận phép rửa tội, miễn là có ý định cần phải
có. Ý định cần phải có là muốn làm điều mà Giáo Hội làm khi rửa
tội cho người ta, và đọc công thức rửa tội nhân danh Ba Ngôi. Do
đó, dù trẻ nhỏ hay người lớn cần rửa tội mà không có thừa tác
viên thường lệ thì ai cũng được ban phép rửa. Những người lớn
muốn được rửa tội phải tỏ ý muốn lãnh nhận bí tích Rửa tội, phải
được giáo dục đầy đủ về các chân lý đức tin và các nghĩa vụ Kitô
giáo. Trong trường hợp nguy tử, người lớn có thể được rửa tội
khi đã biết phần nào về các chân lý chính yếu của đức tin, đã
bày tỏ cách nào đó ý muốn lãnh nhận bí tích và hứa sẽ tuân giữ
các điều răn của đạo Công giáo (xem GL 865).</font></span></td>
