Nữ Maria được lên trời cả hồn lẫn xác không phải là chân lý về
khoa học nhưng là chân lý Đức Tin đã được Giáo Hội nắm giữ và
tuyên tín. Giáo Lý của Giáo Hội dạy rằng: "Trinh Nữ Maria rất
thánh, sau khi hoàn tất cuộc đời dương thế, đã được đưa cả hồn
lẫn xác lên vinh quang trên trời, nơi Mẹ đang được thông phần
vào vinh quang của Phục Sinh Con Mẹ, được hưởng sự Phục Sinh
trước tất cả các chi thể của Thân Thể Chúa Kitô, Con Mẹ"
(GLCG 974). Đức Thánh Cha Piô XII đã tuyên tín: "Chúng
Tôi công bố, tuyên xưng và định tín giáo lý đã được Thiên Chúa
mạc khải này: Đức Maria trọn đời đồng trinh, Mẹ vô nhiễm của
Thiên Chúa, sau khi hoàn tất cuộc đời dương thế, đã được đưa lên
trời hiển vinh cả hồn lẫn xác”(Thông
Điệp Munificentissimus Deus, Đức Giáo Hoàng Piô XII tuyên bố
ngày 01 tháng 11 năm 1950). Điều chúng ta phải tin nhận là
Đức Mẹ đã được phục sinh, được vinh thăng cả hồn lẫn xác. Nhưng
Mẹ lên trời như thế nào, hiện trạng cụ thể của Mẹ bây
giờ làm sao thì không được mạc khải cho chúng ta.</span></font></p></td>
