Trong trường hợp, theo lương tâm, khi xét cần phải kế hoạch hóa
gia đình <i>(khi có những lý do chính đáng)</i> thì Giáo Hội cho
phép vợ chồng được ngừa thai hay tránh thai t<u>heo những phương
pháp phù hợp với tiêu chuẩn luân lý khách quan</u>. Giáo Hội
hướng dẫn chúng ta:</font><p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal">
<font face="Times New Roman">“<i>Sự tiết dục từng thời kỳ, những
phương pháp điều hòa sinh sản dựa trên sự tự chế, hoặc dựa vào
những thời gian không thể thụ thai, được coi là phù hợp với
những tiêu chuẩn khách quan của luân lý. Các phương pháp này
tôn trọng thân thể của hai vợ chồng, khuyến khích sự âu yếm nhau,
và giúp cho việc giáo dục một sự tự do đích thực. Trái lại phải
coi là xấu tự bản chất nó ‘bất cứ hành động nào, hoặc trước,
hoặc đang khi diễn ra hành vi phu phụ, hoặc trong những phát
triển tự nhiên của hành vi này sau đó, nhằm làm cho không thể có
sự sinh sản’</i>” (Giáo Lý Công Giáo, số 2370). </font></p>

<font face="Times New Roman">Việc sử dụng bao cao su khi quan hệ
vợ chồng, hoặc dùng thuốc tránh thai không được coi là phù hợp
với tiêu chuẩn khách quan của luân lý, do đó không được phép.<br>
