<font face="Times New Roman">Theo Giáo Lý của Giáo Hội, thủ dâm
là một hành vi hỗn loạn nặng nề tự bản chất nó. Dù với lý do
nào, cố ý sử dụng khả năng sinh dục bên ngoài những quan hệ phu
phụ thông thường, đều nghịch với mục đích của khả năng sinh dục.
Để đưa ra một phán quyết quân bình về trách nhiệm luân lý của
đương sự người ta phải xét đến nhiều yếu tố khác nữa như mức độ
trưởng thành về đời sống tình cảm, sức mạnh của các tập quán
xấu... vì tất cả những nhân tố này có thể giảm bớt, thậm chí
giảm xuống mức tối thiểu sự qui tội luân lý (xem GLCG 2352).
Chính vì thế không thể có câu trả lời đơn giản cho vấn nạn: Thủ
dâm có được Rước Lễ không. Theo nguyên tắc, nếu ai có tội trọng
thì không thể được Rước Lễ nếu không xưng tội trước, hoặc trong
trường hợp có lý do quan trọng và không có dịp tiện đi xưng tội
thì phải thống hối cách trọn (ái hối), bao gồm việc dốc lòng đi
xưng tội sớm bao nhiêu có thể (xem GL 916).</font></td>
