Giáo lý Hội Thánh Công giáo dạy:</span></p>

Gian dâm là quan hệ xác thịt ngoài hôn nhân giữa một người nam
và một người nữ còn tự do. Tội này trái nghịch cách nghiêm trọng
với nhân phẩm và tính dục của con người, vốn tự nhiên quy hướng
tới lợi ích của đôi phối ngẫu cũng như tới việc sinh sản và giáo
dục con cái. Ngoài ra, gian dâm còn là một gương xấu nghiêm trọng, khi làm
băng hoại giới trẻ. (Sách GLHTCG số 2353).</span></p>

Như vậy việc quan hệ xác thịt ngoài hôn nhân là một trọng tội và được gọi là
tội gian dâm.</span></p>

Khi nhận ra mình phạm tội, với lòng thống hối chân thành bạn chạy đến với
Bích tích Hoà giải, chắc chắn bạn sẽ được Chúa tha thứ. Bởi Bí Tích Hoà Giải
được Chúa thiết lập để hối nhân nhận được ơn tha thứ và được hoà giải với
Thiên Chúa và Hội Thánh. Cho nên, sau khi đã lãnh nhận Bí tích Hoà giải với
lương tâm ngay thẳng, anh hãy yên lòng rước lễ. Và chính lúc nầy đây, qua Bí
tích Thánh Thể anh gặp được một tình yêu vĩ đại, và chính nhờ cuộc gặp gỡ
này, anh sẽ được biến đổi để yêu mến Chúa nhiều hơn và sẵn sàng xa trách
những gì xúc phạm đến tình yêu này.</span></p>
