tuyệt thông hay rút phép thông công là hình phạt nặng nhất trong
Giáo Hội. Ai mắc vạ này thì bị cấm:</font></span></p>
<p style="line-height: normal; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" class="MsoNormal">
<font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt">1.
không được tham phần bằng bất cứ cách nào như thừa tác viên vào
việc cử hành Hy Tế Thánh Thể, hay vào các lễ nghi phụng tự nào
khác;</span></font></p>
<p style="line-height: normal; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" class="MsoNormal">
<font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt">2.
không được cử hành các bí tích hay á bí tích, và lãnh nhận các
bí tích;</span></font></p>

không được hành sử chức vụ, tác vụ, hay bất cứ nhiệm vụ nào, hay
thi hành các hành vi cai trị (xem GL 1331).</span></font></p>

<font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt">Còn
tội “giải tội cho đồng phạm” tức là tội một tư tế (linh mục)
giải tội cho một hối nhân mà chính vị tư tế lại phạm tội điều
răn thứ sáu với hối nhân này. Người giải tội như vậy sẽ bị tức
khắc mắc vạ tuyệt thông và phải Đức Giáo Hoàng mới tha cho được.</span></font></td>
