Chức Phó Tế là một chức thánh trong ba chức thánh trong Giáo
Hội: Chức Giám Mục, chức Linh Mục và chức Phó Tế. Những người
cùng chịu một chức thánh thì được xếp vào cùng một “cấp bậc”
theo “thứ tự” và có thể gọi là “đẳng cấp”. Bí Tích Truyền Chức
Thánh được gọi là “Sacramentum Ordinis” hay trong Anh ngữ
“Sacrament of Order” có nghĩa là bí tích “cấp bậc”. Thông thường
người ta chỉ nói hàng giáo phẩm (hàng giám mục), hàng linh mục,
hàng phó tế. Ít người nói đẳng phó tế.</font></span></td>
