<font face="Arial">Tin Mừng là cuốn sách của lòng thương xót của Thiên Chúa,
cần đọc đi đọc lại, bởi vì những gì Chúa Giêsu đã nói và làm diễn tả lòng
thương xót của Thiên Chúa Cha. Nhưng không phải tất cả đều đã được viết; Tin
Mừng Lòng Thương Xót là môt cuốn sách rộng mở, nơi được tiếp tục viết các
dấu chỉ của các môn đệ Chúa Kitô, các cử chỉ cụ thể của tình yêu là chứng tá
tốt đẹp nhất của lòng thương xót. Chúng ta tất cả đều được mời gọi trở thành
những người viết sống động của Tin Mừng, trở thành những người đem Tin Mừng
tới cho mọi người nam nữ ngày nay. Chúng ta có thể làm điều đó, khi thực
hiện các công việc của lòng thương xót thể lý và tinh thần, là kiểu sống của
cuộc đời kitô. Qua các cử chỉ đơn sơ và mạnh mẽ, đôi khi vô hình đó, chúng
ta có thế thăm viếng những người có nhu cầu, bằng cách đem đến cho họ sự dịu
hiền và ủi an của Thiên Chúa. Và như thế chúng ta tiếp tục điều Chúa Giêsu
đã làm trong ngày Phục Sinh, khi Ngài đổ vào con tim các môn đệ đang sợ hãi
lòng thương xót của Thiên Chúa Cha, và ban cho các vị Chúa Thánh Thần, tha
thứ tội lỗi và trao ban niềm vui.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Tuy nhiên, trong trình thuật Phúc Âm chúng ta cũng tìm
thấy sự mâu thuẫn hiển nhiên: một đàng là sự sợ hãi của các môn đệ đóng kín
cửa nhà; đàng khác là sứ mệnh đến từ Chúa Giêsu, là Đấng gửi họ vào lòng thế
giới để loan báo ơn tha thứ. Sự mâu thuẫn này cũng có thể có nơi chúng ta,
một cuộc chiến nội tâm giữa sự đóng kín con tim và lời mời gọi của tình yêu
mở rộng cửa và đi ra khỏi chính mình. Chúa Kitô, Đấng vì tình yêu, đã vào
qua các cửa đóng kín của tội lỗi, cái chết và âm phủ, cũng ước ao vào từng
người trong chúng ta để mở toang các cánh cửa đóng kín của con tim chúng ta.
Với sự phục sinh Ngài đã chiến thắng sự sợ hãi giam cầm chúng ta, Ngài muốn
mở toang các cánh cửa đóng kín của chúng ta và gửi chúng ta ra đi. Con
đường, mà vị Thầy phục sinh chỉ cho chúng ta, chỉ có một chiều: ra khỏi
chính mình để làm chứng cho sức mạnh chữa lành của tình yêu, mà Ngài đã
chinh phục cho chúng ta. Chúng ta thường thấy trước mắt một nhân loại bị
thương tích và sợ hãi, một nhân loại mang trên mình các vết thương của khổ
đau và không chắc chắn. Trước tiếng kêu đau đớn của lòng thương xót và hoà
bình, hôm nay chúng ta cũng cảm thấy lời mời gọi được hướng tới từng người
trong chúng ta, mời gọi tin tưởng nơi Chúa Giêsu: “Như Cha đã sai Thầy, Thầy
cũng sai các con” (c. 21).</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Mọi tật nguyền có thể tìm thấy sự cứu giúp hữu hiệu nơi
lòng thương xót của Thiên Chúa. Thật thế, lòng thương xót của Ngài không
ngừng lại ở xa: Ngài ước ao đến gặp gỡ tất cả mọi nghèo nàn và giải thoát
khỏi biết bao hình thức nô lệ, gây khổ đau cho thế giới chúng ta. Ngài muốn
tới với các vết thương của từng người, để chữa lành chúng. Là các tông đồ
của lòng thương xót có nghĩa là sờ mó và vuốt ve các vết thương ngày nay
cũng hiện diện trên thân xác và trong tâm hồn của biết bao nhiêu anh chị em
của chúng ta. Khi săn sóc các vết thương đó, chúng ta tuyên xưng Chúa Giêsu,
chúng ta khiến cho Ngài hiện diện sống động, chúng ta cho phép các người
khác sờ mó được lòng thương xót của Ngài với bàn tay và nhận biết Ngài là
“Chúa và Thiên Chúa” (c. 28) như tông đồ Toma đã làm. Và đó là sứ mệnh được
uỷ thác cho chúng ta. Có biết bao nhiêu người xin được lắng nghe và cảm
thông! Tin Mừng của lòng thương xót cần loan báo và viết ra trong cuộc sống,
tìm kiếm những người có con tim kiên nhẫn và rộng mở, tìm “các người
samaritano nhân hậu” biết cảm thương và im lặng trước mầu nhiệm của người
anh chị em. Nó đòi hỏi các phục vụ quảng đại và tươi vui yêu thương một cách
nhưng không, mà không đòi hỏi bất cứ gì đổi lại.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">“Bình an cho các con” là lời chào Chúa Kitô đem đến cho
các môn đệ Ngài, đó cũng là lời chào mà con người thời đại chúng ta chờ đợi.
Đây không phải là một hoà bình được thương thuyết, không phải là việc ngưng
cái gì đó không ổn; Nó là hoà bình của Chúa, hoà bình đến từ con tim của
Đấng Phục Sinh, hoà bình đã chiến thắng tội lỗi, cái chết và sự sợ hãi. Đó
là hoà bình không chia rẽ, nhưng hiệp nhất; đó là hoà bình không để cho cô
đơn, nhưng làm cho cảm thấy được lắng nghe và yêu thương; đó là hoà bình kéo
dài trong đau khổ và làm cho hy vọng nở hoa. Như trong ngày Phục sinh, hoà
bình này nảy sinh và tái sinh luôn mãi từ sự tha thứ của Thiên Chúa, cất đi
nỗi sợ hãi khỏi con tim. Là những người đem hoà bình của Chúa là sứ mệnh
Giáo Hội giao cho chúng ta trong ngày lễ Phục Sinh. Chúng ta đã sinh ra
trong Chúa Kitô như là dụng cụ của hòa giải, để đem tới cho tất cả mọi người
sự tha thứ của Thiên Chúa Cha, để vén mở gương mặt chỉ có tinh yêu của Ngài
trong các dấu chỉ của lòng thương xót.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Trong thánh vịnh chúng ta đã công bố “Tinh yêu Ngài tồn
tại luôn mãi” (Tc 117, 2). Đúng thế, lòng thương xót của Thiên Chúa vĩnh
cửu, không kết thúc, không cạn kiệt, không đầu hàng trước các khép kín, và
không bao giờ mệt mỏi. Trong cái luôn mãi đó chúng ta tìm thấy sự nâng đỡ
trong những lúc thử thách và yếu đuối, bởi vì chúng ta xác tín rằng Thiên
Chúa không bỏ rơi chúng ta: Ngài luôn mãi ở bên cạnh chúng ta. Chúng ta hãy
cảm tạ Chúa vì tình yêu cao cả mà chúng ta không thể hiểu được như thế.
Chúng ta hãy xin ơn không bao giờ mệt mỏi kín múc lòng thương xót của Thiên
Chúa Cha và đem nó tới cho thế giới; chúng ta hãy xin cho chính chúng ta
biết thương xót và phổ biến khắp nơi sức mạnh của Tin Mừng.</font></p>

tiếng Ý, Tầu, Tây Ban Nha, Hindi và Bồ Đào Nha. 250 linh mục đã giúp Đức
Thánh Cha cho tín hữu rước Mình Thánh Chúa.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Trong ngày này là trung tâm của Năm Lòng Thương Xót, tôi
nghĩ tới tất cả các dân tộc đang khao khát hoà giải và hoà bình. Một cách
đặc biệt tôi nghĩ tới thảm cảnh của người đau khổ vì các hậu qủa của bạo lực
bên Ucraina: tới những người còn ở lại trong các vùng đất bị liên lụy bởi
các thù nghịch khiến cho nhiều ngàn người chết và hơn một triệu người bị bó
buộc rời bỏ các vùng đất ấy vì tình hình nghiêm trọng kéo dài. Bị liên lụy
nhất là người già và trẻ em. Ngoài việc đồng hành với họ bằng tư tưởng và
lời cầu nguyện liên lỉ, tôi đã quyết định phát dộng một sự trợ giúp nhân đạo
cho họ. Để đạt mục đích ấy sẽ có một cuộc lạc quyên đặc biệt trong tất cả
mọi nhà thờ Công Giáo toàn Âu châu ngày Chúa Nhật 24 tháng 4. Tôi mời gọi
tín hữu hiệp nhất với sáng kiến này của Giáo Hoàng bằng một đóng góp quảng
đại. Cử chỉ bác ái này, ngoài việc làm vơi nhẹ các nỗi khổ đau vật chất,
cũng muốn bầy tỏ sự gần gũi và tình liên đới của riêng tôi và của toàn thể
Giáo Hội đối với Ucraina. Tôi nhiệt liệt cầu mong nó có thể giúp mau chóng
thăng tiến hoà bình và việc tôn trọng quyền lợi của vùng đất bị thử thách
biết bao này.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Và trong khi cầu nguyện cho hoà bình, chúng ta cũng hãy
nhớ rằng ngày mai là Ngày Quốc Tế bài mìn chống người. Có quá nhiều người
tiếp tục hị giết hay bị tàn tật vì các vũ khí khủng khiếp này, và có các
người nam nữ can đảm liều mạng để gỡ mìn của các vùng đất bị gài mìn. Chúng
ta hãy canh tân dấn thân cho một thế giới không có mìn chống người nữa.</font></p>
