<font face="Arial">Tôi thích nên tôi chọn. Đó là phương châm sống của phần
lớn giới trẻ ngày nay. Họ quá câu nệ vào cảm tính của mình, đến nỗi, đôi khi
trả giá đắt cho một cuộc tình không suy xét kỹ. Tình yêu hôn nhân là một
chuyện hệ trọng, người ta không thể dựa vào cảm xúc chóng qua mà sống với
“tiếng sét ái tình” nào đó. Michael R. Kent thật có lý khi nói: Tình yêu
không chỉ là cảm xúc.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Thật ra, có một loại cảm xúc yêu đương. Nó có thể là hệ
quả của những ngày đầu gặp gỡ từ mối tình tuổi học trò. Họ đến với nhau chỉ
vì hấp lực giới tính, sự lôi cuốn ngoại hình hay một phong cách “ấn tượng”
nào đó. Mọi sự đều là màu hồng. Những cung bậc cảm xúc cũng từ đó dâng trào.
Họ sống như trong cảnh thần tiên mà không mảy may rằng cuộc tình ấy sẽ đi về
đâu. Lúc này, họ đã đồng hóa và giản lược cảm xúc với tình yêu.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Nếu ngày nào cảm thấy tình yêu còn say đắm, ngày ấy họ
còn bên nhau; nếu ngày nào không còn mặn nồng, ngày ấy chúng ta chia tay.
Nếu chỉ nghĩ như thế, tình yêu của con người thật cạn cợt và chóng qua như
cảm xúc vậy ! Nhưng tình yêu không chỉ là cảm xúc.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Có người đã dõng dạc tuyên bố với người yêu rằng: Em là
một nửa của riêng anh và là lẽ sống của lòng anh. Và rồi họ đã sống cảm xúc
yêu đương ấy được ba lần bảy = 21 ngày. Được tin người yêu bị tai nạn rồi
qua đời, cảm xúc anh được thăng hoa, anh mượn lời của thi sĩ Hàn Mặc Tử mà
thốt lên:</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Cảm xúc yêu đương thật lãng mạn ! Thế rồi, chợt tan biến
khi anh lại dắt “một nửa” khác đến bên mộ người yêu quá cố để ra mắt và khởi
đầu một cuộc tình với cảm xúc mới. Đó chỉ là những cảm xúc dối lừa. M Scott
Peck nói đúng: Khi người ta đồng hóa tình yêu với cảm xúc, họ sẽ “tự lừa
dối” trong tình yêu. Và ngay khi sống giản lược cảm xúc với tình yêu, chúng
ta chỉ mơn trớn những mặt nổi bên ngoài mà bỏ qua cả một thế giới nội tâm,
nơi huyền nhiệm mà bản thân không sao diễn tả hết bằng cảm xúc và ngôn từ.
Thật thế, sự gian dối và tính hời hợt không có chỗ đứng trong tình yêu đích
thực. </font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Nói như thế, chúng ta không có ý hạ giảm giá trị của cảm
xúc trong tình yêu đâu ! Vì cảm xúc tỏ cho tôi biết phần lớn những điều đang
diễn ra trong tâm hồn con người. Nhưng không chỉ thấy bằng mắt mà chúng ta
còn phải nghe bằng tai; không chỉ nghe những gì họ nói mà còn phải thấu hiểu
những gì họ không thể nói ra. Một tình yêu tế nhị không cần nhiều lời; có
khi tiếng ồn ào dễ làm người ta đánh mất đi sự sâu lắng và linh thiêng của
một tình yêu trao ban; đôi khi tiếng rộn ràng làm “giảm trừ” sự hiện diện
của một người yêu đang ở bên ta. Quả thật, cảm xúc có đó nhưng cần phải
nghiệm bằng tất cả con người nội tâm. Trong tình yêu, ưu thế vẫn thuộc về
những giá trị tinh thần.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Khi nói đến người Đông Phương, các nhà linh đạo thường đề
cao thái độ sống nội tâm sâu lắng nhưng do thiên nhiều về tình cảm mà khiến
những cảm xúc đánh lừa giác quan làm xa dần đời sống nội tại. Đó là một
thách đố lớn cho những ai sống ơn gọi hôn nhân gia đình. Nếu khuynh hướng
con người thời đại chỉ tìm sự dễ dãi và dễ chịu, họ cố tìm hưởng thụ cho
mình mà không nghĩ cần phải dấn thân trong tình yêu. Họ không muốn có con và
bị ràng buộc để thích thì sống, không thích thì chia tay. Trong khi đó, con
cái không được hiểu như là hoa quả của tình yêu nên một. Nếu chỉ tìm sự thỏa
mãn trong xác thịt, con người tự hạ thấp nhân phẩm của mình và chà đạp tình
yêu đôi lứa. Một khi đánh mất sự tin tưởng và tôn trọng nhau, tình yêu không
còn đất sống.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Ngày nay, chúng ta phải đối diện với thực tế về tình
trạng sống thử trước hôn nhân. Họ đến với nhau như những hợp đồng ngắn hạn
dù không ai muốn. Họ đề ra rất nhiều lý do thuyết phục và biện minh cho lối
sống này. Nhưng hậu quả của những cuộc chia tay là giải đáp cho những vấn đề
của họ. Sau khi đã trải qua những kinh nghiệm đau thương ấy, họ quyết tâm
sống một tình yêu chân thành đúng nghĩa. Lúc này, họ lại phải đối diện thực

trăng mật đã qua” và khi giai đoạn phải lòng kết thúc, bấy giờ tình yêu đích
thực mới bắt đầu. Thật vậy, từ đây họ không còn nói: tôi thích nên tôi chọn
nữa mà tôi muốnnên tôi chọn. Nghĩa là người ta dùng ý chí để muốn và chọn
việc mở rộng bản ngã cho người khác; còn nói như tác giả Scott Peck: Yêu
thương là một hành động. Thật thế, tình yêu là một hành vi tự nguyện dâng
hiến cho nhau để bổ khuyết và bổ trợ nhau hầu giúp nhau phát triển về mọi
phương diện; mỗi ngày hiểu biết nhau hơn để có thể yêu thương và tôn trọng
nhau, nhờ đó, giúp nhau vượt qua mọi thử thách và trung tín bước đi trong

hôn nhân Công giáo là một Bí tích khả dĩ đáp ứng yêu cầu này. Giáo hội luôn
dành một thời gian dài học hỏi và đào sâu kiến thức cũng như chia sẻ kinh
nghiệm thiết thực từ các nhà chuyên môn, nhờ đó, các phối ngẫu tương lai đủ
tự tin bước vào đời sống gia đình như một chúc lành đến từ Thiên Chúa, với ý
thức cao: Tình yêu không chỉ là cảm xúc mà còn là hành động và hành động
trong đức tin.</font></p>
