<font face="Arial">Hôn nhân là một bước ngoặc quan trọng trong cuộc đời. Một
chọn lựa đúng sẽ giúp cho đời sống của mình được hạnh phúc và không uổng phí
một đời; một chọn lựa sai có thể tiêu huỷ tất cả. Bởi thế, xã hội nào, tổ
chức nào, gia đình nào cũng lo lắng và tạo mọi điều kiện thuận lợi để giúp
người trẻ chuẩn bị mình thật tốt trước khi tiến đến hôn nhân. Với một người
Công Giáo, ta cần có những chuẩn bị gì?</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Trước hết, các bạn trẻ phải có một sự hiểu biết đúng đắn
về hôn nhân cũng như những đòi buộc của nó. Điều này giả định một kiến thức
sâu rộng và chuẩn xác về các phương diện khác nhau liên quan đến chính bản
thân mình cũng như đối phương. Phải hiểu được ý nghĩa của thân xác mình đang
thụ hưởng, ý nghĩa của tính dục mà Chúa ban, ý nghĩa của tình yêu mà mình
đang tận hưởng, ý nghĩa của đời sống gia đình mà mình đang có ý định tạo
lập. Đôi bạn trẻ cũng phải lường trước những khó khăn thử thách mà mình sẽ
gặp phải trên cuộc hành trình này để rồi soi rọi lại chính bản thân mình,
xem mình đã đáp ứng được chưa, đã đủ bản lĩnh để đối đầu chưa, sẵn sàng dấn
thân vào chưa. Với sự hiểu biết đúng đắn, họ có thể có một cái nhìn mường
tượng về con đường phía trước mà họ sẽ đi qua. Hệt như một định hướng, nó sẽ
giúp đôi bạn trẻ tự tin tiến bước.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Người trẻ cũng cần phải có một ý thức đúng đắn về chọn
lựa của mình. Hôn nhân là cam kết của chính mình, chứ không phải của ai
khác. Cha mẹ có thể quyết định thay cho mình mọi chuyện, nhưng hôn nhân thì
không, bởi vì, chính chúng ta là người kết hôn và sống hôn nhân này chứ
không phải cha mẹ. Chọn lựa này là chọn lựa của mình. Người bạn đời này là
người mình muốn chung chia cuộc sống. Khi có một ý thức chọn lựa hôn nhân,
người trẻ được xem như là đã trưởng thành và có thể quyết định cho cuộc đời
của mình, làm chủ chính mình, ước nguyện và khao khát của mình. Ý thức đi
kèm với trách nhiệm. Khi biết rằng đây là chọn lựa của mình, đôi bạn trẻ sẽ
phải có trách nhiệm cho chọn lựa ấy. Sướng hay khổ là tuỳ ở mình, không thể
đổ lỗi cho ai. Và nếu muốn xây dựng gia đình hạnh phúc, bản thân họ phải tự
nỗ lực cố gắng vun trồng.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Một điều không thể thiếu trước khi đi đến hôn nhân là
phải tìm hiểu thật kỹ người bạn đời của mình. Hãy dành cho nhau chút thời
gian trước khi kết hôn, chứ đừng vội vàng hấp tấp. Hãy tìm dịp để tiếp xúc
trực tiếp với nhau hơn là chỉ qua điện thoại, internet. Nếu cần, hãy đến
thăm nhà nhau, nói chuyện với bố mẹ, những người thân trong gia đình, bạn
bè, hàng xóm để hiểu hơn về người kia. Tìm hiểu sở thích của nhau, thói hư
tật xấu của nhau. Phải biết về nhau càng nhiều, càng rõ càng tốt để biết xem
liệu mình có thể đón nhận người đó, với tất cả những điểm tốt điểm xấu như
thế, vào cuộc đời mình không. Đừng bị những lời nói đường mật làm bùi tai.
Đừng để những bề ngoài làm mờ mắt. Không biết gì về nhau thì cũng không thể
hiểu nhau. Không hiểu nhau thì cũng đừng nghĩ đến yêu nhau. Khi yêu ai, ta
thường “tỏ lộ” trọn vẹn chính mình cho người khác, chứ không giấu giếm gì,
ta mong ước người mình yêu biết về mình tất cả mọi sự. Vì thế, nếu người kia
có gì che giấu mà không muốn mình biết, hẳn là có chút vấn đề khúc mắc trong
đó. Giai đoạn tìm hiểu là một giai đoạn rất quan trọng trong tiến trình
chuẩn bị cho đời sống hôn nhân. Hãy tận dụng nó thật tốt trong mức độ có
thể. </font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Trước khi bước vào hôn nhân, cũng cần ngồi lại với nhau
để vạch ra một kế hoạch nho nhỏ nào đó trong tương lai. Kế hoạch đó sẽ là
mục tiêu để cả hai cùng phấn đấu. Hôn nhân là một cuộc hành trình, nơi đó,
cả hai cùng nắm tay nhau để hướng hạnh phúc. Trên hành trình đó, có thể có
những chặng nhỏ hơn mà cả hai phải hoàn thành trước. Bao lâu thì có con, có
nhau nhiêu đứa con, nhà cửa thế nào, công việc ra sao, bổn phận của mỗi bên
đối với gia đình thế nào, trách nhiệm báo hiếu đối với cha mẹ, họ hàng… Hay
những chuyện cá nhân khác liên quan đến quá khứ, khi có hiểu lầm xảy ra thì
phải làm sao, khi có điều không ưng ý xảy đến thì cần phải giải quyết thế
nào… Dù có khi mọi chuyện sẽ xảy ra không như mình nghĩ, nhưng có một kế
hoạch, dù là nhỏ nhoi, cũng sẽ giúp mình biết được là mình sẽ đi theo hướng
nào để xây đắp cuộc sống chung, để vun trồng hạnh phúc.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Cuối cùng, điều mà các bạn trẻ không thể không làm trước
khi lựa chọn người bạn đời cho mình là phải hỏi ý kiến những người đi trước
có kinh nghiệm như ông bà, cha mẹ… Hơn ai hết, họ hiểu hôn nhân-gia đình là
gì, họ biết đâu là những điểm sáng điểm tối của nó, họ biết nó khác so với
lý thuyết mà người ta vẫn hay nói đến thế nào, và đặc biệt, với tư cách là
ông bà, cha mẹ, họ hiểu con cái mình rõ nhất. Cần ngồi xuống, nghe những lời
khuyên bảo của họ, rút ra từ đó những bài học hay và hữu ích như một hành
trang quý báu dành cho mình. Thậm chí, ngay cả khi đã lập gia đình rồi, bố
mẹ vẫn là nơi ta luôn cần phải quay về để kín múc sức sống và lời răn dạy.
Không thầy dạy nào giỏi cho bằng người từng trải. Cuộc đời chẳng bao giờ cho
không ai điều gì, nhưng bố mẹ thì luôn ở đó để lắng nghe những tâm sự và
trải lòng của ta một cách vô vị lợi. Vì thế, khi phân vân về người bạn đời,
khi không chắc chắn về chọn lựa của mình, khi lo lắng về con đường phía
trước, hãy tìm đến cha mẹ hoặc người nào đó mình tin tưởng để chia sẻ. Họ sẽ
mang đến cho mình chút ánh sáng, giúp ta thấy rõ hơn vấn đề và đưa ra quyết
định đúng đắn.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Có người nói hôn nhân cũng giống như chơi cờ bạc, may mắn
thì hạnh phúc, còn không thì bất hạnh. Cũng có thể đúng, vì ta đâu biết cuộc
đời sẽ cho ta những lá bài nào. Tuy nhiên, dù ta không thể quyết định lá bài
mà mình sẽ có trong canh bạc này, ta vẫn có thể chiến thắng nhờ cách chơi
của ta. Trong tất cả mọi sự, dù khi phải đối diện với trăm ngàn phong ba bão
táp trong đời hôn nhân, hãy luôn nhớ rằng “ơn Ta đủ cho con” (2Cr 12,9). Với
ơn Chúa, ta tin rằng mình có thể giữ trọn được lời cam kết mà mình đã cầm
tay nhau tuyên bố trước Giáo Hội và mọi người, rằng “sẽ giữ lòng chung thuỷ
với em/anh, khi thịnh vượng cũng như lúc gian nan, khi mạnh khoẻ cũng như
lúc đau yếu, để yêu thương và tôn trọng em/anh mọi người trong suốt đời
anh/em.”</font></p>
