hành hương viếng mộ Thánh Phêrô và nhiều chương trình cầu nguyện và suy gẫm.

Nhắc lại vào năm 1917, Đức Mẹ đã hiện ra với ba trẻ mục đồng ở làng Fatima
Bồ Đào Nha. Đức Mẹ cảnh báo về những bạo lực trong thế kỷ hai mươi nếu thế
giới không ăn năn đền tội. Đức Mẹ nhắn nhủ hãy đọc kinh Mân Côi và làm việc

Ngay sau khi được bầu làm Giáo Hoàng, Đức Thánh Cha Phanxicô đã xin đức Hồng
Y Jose Polycarp, Thượng Phụ cuả Lisbon, thay mặt Ngài thánh hiến triều đại
giáo hoàng của mình cho Đức Mẹ Fatima vào ngày 13 tháng 5, là ngày lễ Đức Mẹ

Note*: Đây là bức tượng đầu tiên được khắc bằng gỗ và được đem ra tôn kính
tại Nhà Nguyện Nhỏ (Capelinha) kể từ ngày 13 tháng 5 năm 1920. Bức tượng đã
được ĐGH Pius XII đặt vương miện vào năm 1946 (tại Roma.)<br>

Cũng vào năm đó (1946), sau khi kết thúc một đại hội giới trẻ, các thanh
niên Bồ Đào Nha đã cung nghinh bức tượng (trên vai) từ Fatima đến Lisbon, đi
qua và dừng lại ở nhiều thị trấn. Dân chúng đã tụ tập để nghinh đón bức
tượng mới được đặt vương miện và cầu nguyện sốt sắng.<br>

Một sự lạ lùng đã xảy ra trong suốt cuộc thánh du này, được gọi là phép lạ 'Chim
Bồ Câu' theo ngôn ngữ cuả Cha Oliveira, một linh mục Mỹ tham dự cuộc thánh
du, lời chứng cuả Ngài tóm tắt như sau:<br>

3 con chim bồ câu được người ta tung lên trong buổi lễ ở một thị xã gọi là
Bombazral gần Fatima, đã không bay đi mà đã bay vòng vòng nhiều lần rồi xà
xuống nằm dưới chân bức tượng, không ăn uống trong suốt 2 tuần lễ và cũng
không rời chỗ cho dù có nhiều tiếng kèn trống inh ỏi cuả hàng chục ban nhạc.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><br>

Báo chí Bồ đào Nha đã bàn luận và thêu dệt ồn ào về hiện tượng lạ lùng này.<br>

Khi đến nhà thờ Chính Toà ở Lisbon, trong buổi lễ nghinh đón có nhiều giám
mục tham dự, ngay lúc vị chủ tế đọc lời truyền phép Thánh Thể thì 2 con chim
đã bất ngờ quạt cánh bay lên và đáp xuống hai bên bàn thờ, nằm phủ phục như
thể chiêm bái Mình Thánh Chuá vậy và chúng đã nằm như vậy cho đến hết buổi
lễ, còn con thứ ba thì trong lúc hiệp lễ đã đậu trên đỉnh bức tượng, giang
đôi cánh ra rất lâu trông giống như một thiên thần.<br>

Sau buổi lễ, chúng bay đi mất.<br>

Bức tượng được đưa về Fatima và được cung nghinh trong các cuộc rước trọng
thể, đặc biệt là các ngày 13 tháng 5 và 13 tháng 10 mỗi năm. Ngoài bức tượng
nguyên thủy vừa kể, còn có 2 bức tượng gỗ khác gọi là tượng Thánh Du, lai
lịch như sau:<br>

Để đáp ứng với những yêu cầu muốn được thực hiện các cuộc thánh du ở nhiều
nơi trên Thế Giới, Đức Giám Mục cuả Fatima đã viết thư cho chị Lucia có ý
muốn gửi bức tượng 'nguyên thủy' đi, nhưng chị Lucia đã khuyên nên dùng một
bức tượng khác đang được nhà điêu khắc trứ danh là Jose Thedim thực hiện
theo lời mô tả cuả chị. Và do đó một bức tượng thứ hai được gọi là tượng ĐM
Fatima Thánh Du Quốc Tế (International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of
Fatima) đã được làm phép và gửi đi vào ngày 13 tháng 5 năm 1947.<br>

Bức tượng Thánh Du Quốc Tế này còn có tên gọi là Bức Tượng Fatima Trái Tim
Vô Nhiễm vì tượng có hình trái tim Mẹ. Bức tượng từng qua thăm Miền Nam Việt
Nam từ 1965 cho đến 1967.<br>

Cũng cùng năm 1947, nhân dịp mừng lễ 30 năm ngày phép lạ Mặt Trời Xoay, ngày
13 tháng 10, người ta lại thánh hiến một bức tượng thứ ba gọi là tượng Thánh
Du 'Phương Tây' (the Western statue, chắp tay giống như tượng nguyên thủy)
và trao cho Đạo Binh Xanh cuả Hoa Kỳ. Bức Tượng Phương Tây thường du hành
các xứ Mỹ Châu.<br>

Cả hai bức tượng Thánh Du đã đi qua trên 100 quốc gia, kể cả Nga và Trung
