ảnh đẹp của Mẹ Thương Xót (Mother of Mercy) ở Vilnius là một trong
những điểm nổi bật của chúng tôi khi hành hương tới Vilnius. Hình
ảnh cổ kính và nổi tiếng này về Mẹ Thương Xót là một trong những Đền
thờ nổi tiếng tại Lithuania, mỗi năm có hằng ngàn người Công giáo
đến kính viếng và cầu nguyện.</font></span></h2>

<font face="Arial">Hình ảnh Mẹ Thương Xót rất quan trọng đối với
khách hành hương vì đó là hình ảnh sống động với Thánh Faustina. Đức
Mẹ đã nói với Thánh Faustina và khuyến khích Chị tiếp tục hoàn tất
Thánh Ý của Chúa Con. Hình ảnh này được đặt trong khung vòm ở
Vilnius, gọi là “Cổng Bình Minh” (Gates of Dawn, Ausros Vartai).</font></span></h2>

kỷ 16, một bức tường lớn được xây quanh thành phố Vilnius để ngăn
chặn kẻ thù. “Cổng Bình Minh” là khu vực nguy hiểm nhất của bức
tường này được người ta đặt hình Mẹ Thương Xót để xin ơn che chở.
Lịch sử thành phố Vilnius cho biết khu vực này vẫn nguyên vẹn dù
chiến tranh xảy ra nhiều. Hình Mẹ Thương Xót cũng trở nên nổi tiếng
về sức mạnh kỳ lạ trong chiều dài lịch sử, dân thành phố Vilnius nói
rằng họ được chữa lành ngay khi cầu nguyện trước hình Mẹ Thương Xót.
Năm 1993, Chân phước Giáo hoàng Gioan Phaolô II đã tới Đền thờ này
và lần Chuỗi Mân Côi tại đây. Ngài nói với đám đông rằng ngài đã
luôn mong được tới kính viếng Đền thờ đặc biệt này.</font></span></h2>

<font face="Arial">“Cổng Bình Minh” cũng là nơi đầu tiên linh ảnh
Lòng Chúa Thương Xót được công bố và là nơi đầu tiên cử hành lễ kính
Lòng Chúa Thương Xót. Vì thế, “Cổng Bình Minh” sẽ mãi mãi liên kết
với việc sùng kính Lòng Chúa Thương Xót, đồng thời là nơi tuyệt vời
nhất để cầu nguyện và tâm sự với Mẹ Thương Xót khi chúng ta đến kính
viếng Đền thờ này. Chúng ta cũng sẽ tham dự Thánh lễ tại Đền thờ Mẹ
Thương Xót và dành thời gian cầu nguyện riêng tại đây.</font></span></h2>

<font face="Arial">Tại đây cũng có một số tiệm bán đồ tôn giáo làm
quà lưu niệm gần “Cổng Bình Minh” để nhớ đến một trong những nơi
thánh nhất thế giới.</font></span></h2>

<font face="Arial">Chiều tối ngày cuối cùng (15-11-1935) của Tuần
Cửu Nhật tại Ostra Brama, sau khi hát kinh cầu, một linh mục đặt
Mình Thánh vào mặt nhật. Khi đặt lên bàn thờ, tôi liền nhìn thấy
Chúa Giêsu Hài Đồng đưa đôi tay bé nhỏ ra, trước tiên đưa về phía
Đức Mẹ với dáng vẻ sống động. Khi Mẹ Thiên Chúa nói với tôi, Chúa
Giêsu đưa tay về phía cộng đoàn. Đức Mẹ bảo tôi chấp nhận mọi điều
Thiên Chúa yêu cầu ở tôi như đứa con bé nhỏ, không thắc mắc; nếu
không sẽ không đẹp lòng Chúa. Lúc đó, Chúa Giêsu Hài Đồng biến mất,
còn Đức Mẹ không còn sống động nữa, hình Đức Mẹ vẫn như trước. Nhưng
linh hồn tôi tràn ngập vui mừng, và tôi thưa với Chúa: “Xin hành
động với con khi Ngài vui lòng; con sẵn sàng mọi thứ, nhưng xin Chúa
đừng bỏ con dù chỉ trong một lúc” (Nhật Ký, số 529).</font></span></h2>
