năm 2011, để phân tích kinh nghiệm về nỗ lực của tôn giáo đối với hạnh
phúc, người ta đã sử dụng các dữ liệu từ 3 đợt (2002/2003, 2004 và 2006)
của tổ chức Nghiên cứu Xã hội Âu châu (ESS – European Social Survey) đối
với 114.019 cá nhân ở 24 quốc gia.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; margin-left: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 12px; background: white">
<span style="font-size: 12pt">Các dữ liệu này cung cấp thông tin về đặc
tính cá nhân như giới tính, tuổi tác, thu nhập, sức khỏe tổng quát theo
quan điểm cá nhân, tình trạng hôn nhân, hoạt động chính, số con và trình
độ học vấn, và những phương diện khác,…</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; margin-left: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 12px; background: white">
<span style="font-size: 12pt">Khi làm trắc nghiệm thống kê tìm các mối
tương quan các biến số giữa hạnh phúc và tôn giáo, người ta có kết quả
chủ yếu là:</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; margin-left: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 12px; background: white">
<span style="font-size: 12pt">1. Có hệ quả quan trọng thuộc về tôn giáo
đối với hạnh phúc. Những người theo một tôn giáo nào đó sẽ sống hạnh
phúc hơn những người không có tôn giáo.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; margin-left: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 12px; background: white">
<span style="font-size: 12pt">2. Tôn giáo hoặc giáo phái có hệ quả quan
trọng đối với hạnh phúc. Người Tin Lành, các tín đồ Kitô giáo khác và
người Công giáo cho biết họ hạnh phúc hơn người theo Chính thống giáo và
các Giáo hội Đông phương.</span></p>

<span style="font-size: 12pt">3. Dường như có mối quan hệ tích cực giữa
mức độ tôn giáo ở một người đối với hạnh phúc: Càng sùng đạo càng hạnh
phúc. Tuy nhiên, những người tự coi mình là “không có tôn giáo” (0) có
mức hạnh phúc tương đối so với những người có mức 5 về tỷ lệ sùng đạo.</span></p>

<span style="font-size: 12pt">4. Thường xuyên tham dự các nghi lễ tôn
giáo cũng tương quan với hạnh phúc: những người hàng ngày tham dự các
nghi lễ tôn giáo thì hạnh phúc hơn những người không tham dự.</span></td>
