Thái nói: "Thưa Thầy, thiếu phụ này bị bắt quả tang phạm tội ngoại tình,
mà theo luật Môsê, hạng phụ nữ này phải bị ném đá. Còn Thầy, Thầy dạy
sao?" Họ nói thế có ý gài bẫy Người để có thể tố cáo Người. Nhưng Chúa
Giêsu cúi xuống, bắt đầu lấy ngón tay viết trên đất. Vì họ cứ hỏi mãi,
nên Người đứng lên và bảo họ: "Ai trong các ngươi sạch tội, hãy ném đá
chị này trước đi". Và Người ngồi xuống và lại viết trên đất. Nghe nói
thế, họ rút lui từng người một, bắt đầu là những người nhiều tuổi
nhất..."(Ga. 8,1-11).</span></p>

Có thể mạo muội nói rằng: Xã hội thời nay, sau khi nghe lời phán của Đức
Giêsu:"Ai trong các ngươi sạch tội, hãy ném đá chị này trước đi", thì
không chỉ là mưa đá, nhưng là bão đá sẽ phủ kín người phụ nữ phạm tội
ngoại tình! Vì sao thế?</span></p>

Xin thưa rằng: Xã hội thời nay, là một xã hội vô cảm, từ sự vô cảm đã
làm cho con người mất đi chất xót thương, đồng cảm và tha thứ. Trái tim
con người không còn là trái tim thịt mềm, nó đã chai cứng vì tính ích
kỷ, kiêu căng và tàn độc. Tất cả những điều ấy, đều khởi đi từ một xã
hội không còn tin và khước từ sự hiện diện của Thiên Chúa. Tệ hơn nữa,
con người ngày nay tự cho mình là Thiên Chúa.</span></p>

Vì cho mình là Thiên Chúa, nên con người ngày nay tự phong cho mình
những quyền hành: Buộc tội, chà đạp và tước đoạt mạng sống của anh em
đồng loại. Hiện tượng độc tài, độc đoán, độc trị, trả thù, phá thai...
đã minh chứng tất cả. Chính vì thế, con người ngày nay rất dễ vung tay
ném đá anh em một cách không thương tiếc, dẫu rằng bản thân không tốt
lành, đời sống đầy những vết ô nhơ...</span></p>

Hòn đá mà con người ngày nay ném vào nhau, vào những người yếu đuối và
lỗi lầm, không chỉ là những hòn đá xanh, đá cuội...nhưng là những hòn
đá: Kỳ thị, loại trừ, bôi nhọ, nói hành, nói xấu, vu khống và khinh khi.</span></p>

Trước những lỗi lầm của con người, điển hình là tội ngoại tình của người
phụ nữ, trước những ánh mắt rực lên sự buộc tội và muốn loại trừ của
người Do Thái, Đức Giêsu đã thinh lặng, Ngài từ từ viết trên đất. Kinh
Thánh không nói Ngài viết điều gì, nhưng, qua cuộc đời, lời giáo huấn và
cách hành xử của Đức Giêsu, ta thầm hiểu: Ngài đã viết những từ: " Khiêm
Hạ" , từ "Tha Thứ và từ " Yêu".</span></p>

Vâng, có khiêm hạ, con người mới nhận ra mình yếu đuối và đầy những lỗi
lầm trước Chúa và anh em; nhờ khiêm hạ, con người mới có thể yêu và tha
thứ cho nhau.</span></p>

Mùa Chay Thánh là thời gian giúp ta nhìn lại mối tương quan giữa ta với
Thiên Chúa và với nhau, giúp ta nhìn lại đời sống của mình và giúp ta
làm mới lại những tố chất mà Thiên Chúa đã ban tặng. Tố chất ấy là:
Khiêm hạ, yêu thương và tha thứ. Có như thế, mùa Chay Thánh nơi ta mớt
thật có ý nghĩa, và đây là sức mạnh giúp ta bước vào cuộc Thương Khó với
Đức Kitô, qua cuộc Thương Khó cùng với Đức Ki tô, tin chắc ta sẽ được
cùng Ngài Phục Sinh.<br>

Lạy Đức Chúa Giêsu, Đấng Giàu Lòng Xót Thương, xin thương giúp chúng
